Booked a 10 day stay in a one bedroom condo. We are Sabbath observant and wanted a unit where we could prepare our meals. We were booked in #209. On Friday at 4pm we were going to put the chicken in the oven and the oven didn't work. We phoned the front desk and were upset because the Sabbath was going to start in two and a half hours and we needed to get our meal cooked. They told us that the owner of that condo didn't want anyone using the oven and so disconnected it. They were kind enough to offer us another unit, #205 and we could move the next day. We told them we couldn't do the move on the Sabbath, and that we would move in on the Sunday morning. The new unit was a 2 bedroom and was really lovely with upgraded appliances and a Sabbath compliant stove/oven! That was a bonus! Everything else after that was nothing short of exceptional. The pool had two levels, the lower level having a hot tub and water bed in the pool as well as multiple water falls. The upper pool area was frequently not crowded and fairly easy to get a sunbed. It was a long infinity pool and easy to do laps in. The tree lined walkways were really lovely and the maintenance could be seen everywhere, beautifying the areas. The front desk was also helpful. My only complaint was the gym which had very spotty wifi. I usually do my workouts from videos on my iPad, and they just wouldn't play, so I had to take a screenshot of my exercises and do them by recall. The internet in the hotel was very hi quality. Sadly the beach in Playa del Carmen was covered in Sargassum, the smelly seafeed which came a couple of weeks early this year. Sadly, it is a problem in many areas in the Caribbean. We took a boat trip to Isla Muljeres that we booked from an agent in WalMart. It was very well priced and lots of fun. This hotel is within walking distance of everything. Once you download the Google map, you can easily walk everywhere. We would definitely rent another condo here, but this time we will specify that it has to have a working oven. Apparently, units are given out the day you arrive. So arriving late, I guess we ended up in #209. It would have been a great unit if you don't want to use an oven! The hot and cold water cooler was an amazing addition to the condo! All in all, an excellent stay and we highly recommend it!…
This is a great Playa Del Carmen condo. We (two families - each with one child) stayed in one of the 3 story penthouse condos. The condo was very, very spacious. The first and second floor both had balcony's plus the private rooftop terrace on the third floor (all that is on the third floor is the terrace). Our condo had a flight of steps to get to the first floor so this would not be a good option for someone who can't do a lot of steps or walking. Beds (one king, one queen and two twins) were very comfortable and the linens were decent quality. The bathrooms are nice with great water pressure and plenty of towels. The couch was old, outdated and uncomfortable but we were on the go so much that didn't matter. The kitchen is stocked with everything you need to cook plus full size fridge and microwave. They have a coffee pot but the actual coffee is a mini bar purchase but very good. A purified water dispensary is in the kitchen so you basically have bottled water "on tap" which was a nice perk. The grounds are very clean and nice (pools included) and all the staff members get an A+. There is a security guard on duty at all times and while I don't think I would have felt unsafe without one, it was a bonus. The location is grand! Right next to some amazing restaurants and bakery but the property itself is very very quiet (and we were there during spring break). While it doesn't have any beach access nearby as far as I could tell, the beach clubs in Playa and Cozumel were great. We would absolutely stay here again!…
We stayed here for 1 week in September 2022. My husband & i had booked the 2bedroom apartment with private jacuzzi. Upon arrival it was after 8pm & dark so we didnt get a good look at the property. The concierge helped us with our bags & gave us a tour around our apartment & also took us to the roof where our private jacuzzi, bbq & outdoor area was. Next morning we woke up to a gorgeous view of the pool. The apartment complex is spotless & so peaceful! We were never kept awake by any loud noises & our room was serviced whenever we needed it. Most days we had the pool to ourselves which was bliss! There are a lot of stairs if you choose one of the penthouses so keep that in mind if you have any mobility issues. There are no lifts however they do have ground floor apartments. I would 100% stay here again if we ever go back to Playa as you had all the perks of being in a hotel with the flexibility of having your own apartment. Plenty of food options nearby too (Make sure you grab breakfast at Carlota Bakery which is just across from the condo...the staff are just the best & the cakes are fantastic!) Playa Del Carmen itself has started to loose its charm. The first time we visited over 10yrs ago it was much more relaxing. Now 5th Avenue is just full of shops all selling the same tat! The worst was when we walked down towards the ferry terminal...the people outside the shops there were rude & aggressive. Nothing like the Mexico we know & love. From that first day we never went on 5th again & stayed between 10th & 40th instead (where i will add you get much better food than on 5th!) If we ever return to Playa then we would definitely look at returning to these condos.…
Wow! What a beautiful facility. Large, spacious rooms. Great amenities, and exceptional location. But most important was the service. Daniel and Felipe went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect, to help with room maintenance fixes and to help us plan parts of our trip. Would love to come back here.
We're shocked by the response of the management office. We spent three nights in this hotel, the only day we had cleaning service we left our phones and wallets and stayed in the pool while the cleaning was being done. To our surprise, we received a message saying that one of our cards had been used to by something online from "mercado libre" a mexican website. Unfortunately to the person who stole our credit card information, we absolutely never use this card so we know the information was stolen while we left it in the room. The management office did not help resolve it and didn't even investigate the incident. They told us we should use the safe in the room for our valuables. Why would someone think we'd get stolen while sitting in the pool of this "supposedly" good hotel? We reported the charge to our bank and had to cancel ALL our other cards, and we will make sure nobody we know will stay here and go through the same experience. TODAVIA ESTOY EN SHOCK QUE ESTO PASARA EN UN HOTEL DONDE EL SERVICIO SE SUPONE QUE ES BUENO. A PARTE DE ESTE INCIDENTE, NOS TUVIERON QUE CAMBIAR DE HABITACION DURANTE NUESTRA ESTANCIA DEBIDO A LA CONSTRUCCION QUE SE ESTA LLEVANDO A CABO EN EL HOTEL, NO SERIA TAN RELEVANTE SI NO FUERA PORQUE DURANTE NUESTRA ESTANCIA EMPLEADOS DEL HOTEL NOS ROBARON.…
Nice condo rescued Playa trip plagued by Sargassum seaweed 834810919 Playa del Carmen and the rest of the coast is being plagued by Sargassum seaweed right now. Beaches are kinda yucky. Fortunately, we stayed here, which is a really nice condo. On the top floor, you even have your own balcony, and then a separate roofdeck. Big and spacious, it was a nice place to rest and chill. It has its own neat two-level swimming area inside too.
Very close to the beach & 5th Ave, Porto Playa condo grounds are a tropical forest! Loved staying here, beautiful accommodations it was everything we were looking for. Nice elevated pool area too. Everyone working here were helpful and gave great customer service. Would definitely recommend this place!!
Unit 201 is large, spacious, luxurious & ideally located. Most importantly,we found the staff very helpful, friendly & responsive. We had an absolutely wonderful experience and would highly recommend the Porto Playa complex & especially the 3-bedroom, penthouse. Unit 201 includes two full size living rooms, a fully equipped kitchen & great privacy with the rooftop sauna and tiki hut. The location is close to everything, but far enough away to avoid the evening entertainment noise. The dishwasher had not yet been replaced, but the daily housekeeping always washed/dried the dishes. The full time security staff managed the entry & we always felt very safe & secure. We have nothing to complain about!! We loved it.
The Porto Playa Condo hotel is conveniently located. It was very easy to get to shopping, restaurants, the beach by walking. We had a wonderful hot tub on the roof terrace with an ocean view and spent time in it every day. We definitely recommend this hotel
When we arrived, I was surprised at how small and quaint this little gem is, but that is what also made it so special. We travelled with three teenagers, who were so happy to be able to walk to the beach, walk to shops, a quality gym that was included, and the big bonus that was used daily, the top level hot tub and sitting area. We travelled right before Christmas and as mentioned in another review, the dishwasher did have a problem, and we were not given dish soap, but it really didn't hurt our stay. All of the beds were amazingly comfortable and the helpfulness of the staff, really made our stay. The barbecue didn't start and immediately somebody came to fix it and when we needed towels, toilet paper and paper towel, we just asked and they brought it right away. Agreed there could be some more chairs around the pool, but maybe this is a Covid thing. We easily walked to the grocery store, the beach and loved eating at any busy street vendors we found on our long walks. Visited the beach club, but it wasn't for us. People just put towels on the beach chair and leave it for hours. However, we aren't so much beach people and preferred the smaller feel of less people at our pool. If you don't need to be directly on the beach and like to be close to the heart of everything, while enjoying a boutique experience, this really is the place. The amount of space we had to either hide from the teenagers or entertain them, is perfect! Staff even helped us out when the days rolled into each other and we forgot to leave! They were very accommodating when we panicked to pack and vacate. Also to mention, not one bug or problem with cleanliness. We were very happy and the loud music from the neighborhood bar, was not bad and from Condo 201, not noticeable unless at the pool. All in all, we loved it for a family of 5 or if we went with other couples, I would highly recommend staying here.…
