We stayed here the week of Thanksgiving. It was a good time of year to travel, not too busy. The staff were very friendly & nice, always accomodating. We stayed 7 days, 6 nights and we didn't eat in the same resturant twice for dinner. The best resturant was the Brazillian Steakhouse. Also, Playa del Carmen is a quick 15...

Great hotel if you like garish, Vegas / Dubai architecture. The hotel design really doesn't compliment nor does it lend itself to the jungle surroundings.. for that, stay at the Iberostar Quetzel / Tucan. Hotel lobby is Spanish Colonial but somehow the interior hallways remind me of a hospital in Cuba with it's dank colours and echos. Enjoyed a 3rd...

When we arrived it was a little hectic at the airport It was our first time and we did not know where to go or what to do. The airport staff was not helpfully at all. When we finally arrived at the hotel we were very tired. The hotel took great care of us. We requested and received a very...

I stayed here for 2 weeks at the end of November with my partner. We stayed at the RPM a few years ago and do prefer this hotel. Although this a beautiful building the resort doesn't have a very Mexican feel to it and some Mexican music would have a good way to putting this right. The main plus for...

We stayed at the Riu Palace Riviera Maya for our belated honeymoon over Christmas 2010. We had a wonderful time. The hotel is about 30 minutes south of Cancun and located in a gated community in Playa del Carmen (for those who enjoy exercise, there is a great 3 mile running loop around the community). We loved: The restaurant options....

First time to RPRM (actually, first time at a Riu ever - never thought they were what we wanted). First time also to the area, having done Cancun without child years ago. Chose hotel for its all inclusive factor and its location to Playa Del Carmen. Used Thomson package holidays which again, not something we usually do, but thank god...

We stayed here with our grown children and 4 year-old granddaughter for 10 days from Dec. 30, 2009 until Jan. 9th, 2010. Having stayed at the RIU Palace Mexico last year, we wanted to try a newer version of the resort so opted for the more recently constructed Palace Riviera Maya. The grounds are immaculate, entertainment top-notch and the staff...

My husband and I from Phila. arranged to meet our daughter from Phoenix in Mexico for Christmas. Phila. had a snow storm the day before our departure and we were fortunate to get out with only a 2 1/2 hour delay. We hired Cancun Transfers for our private transfer to the RPRM. Our daughter (being by herself) didn't see them...
