Being in Riu Riviera Maya during the first week of August 2020. Initially doubtful whether the new post COVID-19 measures will affect the whole Riu experience but the answer is no! All safety measures give you peace of mind and all guests are in general terms very cooperative. Some changes include: - New Riu App with access to all activities schedules and restaurant menus - Not all restaurants are open at the same time for dinner as it used to be, I guess this has to to with the less number of travelers. However you will always have access to a la carte dining or buffets options as always - Pool bar (wet bar) and lobby bar are closed, all beverages have to be asked to the waiters - Mandatory use of mask in all buffets. Mandatory use of hand sanitizing before going into the buffet - No face masks are required in the beach and pool but suggested in the lobby areas - Sauna at the spa is closed - Alcoholic beverage dispensers have been removed from all rooms - Shampoo, hair conditioner and body lotion were removed from all rooms - Body temperature is taken automatically at the entrance Pretty much that’s it. It was a very pleasurable experience. Arriving at Cancun airport was also very convenient with all the required healthy measures. Sure I’ll come back to this hotel.

Riu is always our vacation go to! This Riu...grounds were gorgeous, so clean, well maintained, staff was at your service...ESPECIALLY GERMAN! During COVID especially, they made sure that took extra precautions with distancing, masks, cleaning & temperature checks. Food considering the circumstances I would grade it a B+-C only because I’ve had their food at other resorts and I know they have had better selections but again, all things considering. Cons: I don’t recommend it for couples wanting a couples getaway but if your a couple with a family, it’s perfect for you. The local hagglers on the beach was WAY to much. If you look at the ocean they immediately assume your making eye contact with them and there they are offering you and selling your stuff. Other then that, I enjoyed my time there!

My wife and i have been coming to this resort every year for the last eight years and have never been disappointed. We love this place and the people working there are fantastic, they even remember our names when we get there . I would recommend this resort to anyone. We will keep coming back.

I just returned 2 days ago, and I did not want to leave this beautiful all inclusive resort with top notch services. Their staff is unbelievably respectful and amicable, and are constantly checking to see if you need anything. This place was one of the BEST I have ever stayed in with a clean environment. I recommend it to EVERYONE.

Even though the services were scaled back, the staff made up for it with unbelievable attention. The resort is beautiful and poolside/beach beverage service was top notch. The pandemic's silver lining is practically having the place to yourself. Very focused on keeping everyone safe. Everywhere we went inside and outside of the resort temps were checked, masks enforced, disinfectant mats at entrances and plenty of hand sanitizer. Can't wait to go back!
