My husband and I just got married at the Fairmont Mayakoba on August 5th and when I say it was the most amazing day/weekend of our lives I mean it! If you’re looking for a destination wedding, I couldn’t recommend the Fairmont Mayakoba more. From getting basic info and locking in our contract with Xavier, to planning the wedding with my wedding coordinator Maricarmen, the whole process was seamless. Their attention throughout the whole process made planning a wedding all the way in New York so easy and I felt strongly that we were in great hands. They have an amazing list of vendors, from Cherry Blossom for flowers, Dream Art for photography and Encore for DJ/Music. Everyone was so professional. We had beautiful welcome bags made by Arly at Décor and Gifts which were also a huge hit. The hotel is absolutely STUNNING! We had sixty people at our wedding coming from all over North and South America who all stayed in different rooms that were all newly renovated. We stayed in their Signature Casita Suite, and it was GORGEOUS! The resort has an amazing balance of jungle and beach, they have golf carts that take you all over the resort and you also get to dine at the other three hotels in the Mayakoba property. Their beach is beautiful, no seaweed and no waves. They have many activities included in your stay like paddleboarding and a boat tour through their canals that is totally worth it. Their breakfast buffet is one of the best I’ve had, their steak house Tauro is brand new and DELICIOUS! The food at the beach during the day is great, we loved the ceviche, guacamole and quesadillas and of course the drinks were to die for. The food and drinks at our welcome cocktails and wedding reception were FENOMENAL! We had the most delicious strawberry margaritas for everyone when they arrived, and everyone is still talking about them. Their lobby bar is brand new, and they have some great sushi! The staff is so welcoming, super attentive and extremely professional. Our butler Miguel was super helpful, the spa was amazing, Dory who handled our turndown service, was the best, room service was quick and the front desk staff was so helpful and happy to help at any time. It’s been two weeks since our wedding and our friends and family are still reaching out raving about the trip/wedding. They have a beach club with a handful of restaurants opening very soon so we’re planning to return as soon as we recover from our trip. This place will forever hold a very special place in my heart and we will 100% be going back soon.…

I highly, highly recommend this hotel. This is my second time staying at the Fairmont Mayakoba with my family and we will definitely be coming back. The accommodations were beautiful and stylish (thanks to the recent remodel), the customer service was incredible, and the beaches idyllic-perfect for a relaxing getaway. Many of the staff members even remembered us from the year before! Our butler, Alejandro, provided excellent, personalized service. The restaurants were world-class and full of local fresh flavors and ingredients. We especially enjoyed the Fairmont’s flagship restaurant, Gaia, focused on sustainable seafood in a fine dining setting. The food, prepared by chef Estrellita, was complex and delicious and the presentation was beautiful. Our server, Enrique, was a true professional and tequila sommelier, providing us with a tequila pairing for our meal and an education in Mexican spirits that changed my view of these drinks and put many new spirits on my radar I was completely unfamiliar with. This place is amazing! We had the most incredible time here. All staff is so kind and will go out of their way to make the trip special. We especially appreciated Jezer from the beach who took us on an incredible boat ride, snorkel trip, and paddle boarding, and went out of his way to make sure we were taken care of! Then Enrique from the restaurant Gaia was incredible, and gave us a big history on tequila, he was amazing and made our night so special. The chef from there, Estrellita made the most incredible meal and paired our wine perfectly. We are coming back every year! Thank you staff! We will never stay anywhere else here. Also a special thanks to our personal butler, Alejandro!

We went as a family (couple & a 3.5 year old), end of Aug / start Sept 2023 for a week. Loved it! Nutshell: a wonderful break with great service, & luckily good weather for the time of year (only 1 day of rain). Not a kids’ hotel per se (no kitschy water play things etc) but it certainly caters to them with kids’ club (4+), menus, a few sand toys etc. Spa is under redevelopment & plans to reopen Dec, meantime they still offer some treatments & there’s a gym. Detail: 45 min approx taxi from Cancun. Hotel taxi v expensive so we went with a local company, which also offered car seats. This is one of 4 top hotels in the private ‘Mayakoba’ gated area encompassing both jungle and a good stretch of clean beach. Getting around the hotel / resort you can walk, cycle, or take the free shuttles provided. Nice & quiet by pool, no loud music, just some music in afternoons at Laguna pool area. We also loved the pool by beach. Spacious room (assume all are roughly same), ours in 300s near main pool & cafe, overlooking a canal. I liked the location - between lobby & beach - so you have easy reach of everything! Do note there are mosquitos; not as bad as I’d thought, but sitting outside in the room after dark prob isn’t a good idea. Another reason we got a first floor room. Delicious food; kids’ menu extensive too (& remember under 5s eat free at the main restaurants, portions are decent). Amazing breakfast buffet - about $35 pp so as we’re not huge early eaters - & we wanted back-ups for our 3 year old - we also went to Walmart down the highway to stock up on some basics. Definitely ask the concierge on arrival for activity schedule as some things (eg free yoga) are only on certain days. The Fuego fire show eg is just on Sat & there is Mayan dancing at the Cenote certain times (we missed it but did the little free tour, v interesting). Tauro has live piano certain nights. We did the water sports which were fun, some included too. Not great for snorkelling so perhaps if you’re keen fir that the reef tour is worth considering, but I don’t know how that is. El Pueblito village also nice to see (no kids’ menu included but you may get resort credit at the sweet / ice cream shop). We also took a taxi to Playa del Carmen (20 mins if no traffic) 2 nights ti check out the touristy but fun ‘5th Avenue’ area of restaurants & (expensive) touristy shops. Our 3 year old loved the mariachi bands & ‘characters’ like Shrek walking about! Lastly - we tipped in restaurants & when we left but never felt pressure otherwise. We discovered a grand paradise along the Mayan peninsula! Fairmont Mayakoba was such a treat for a week of rest, recreation, and rejuvenating…Upon our arrival, Armando welcomed us with a smile and unloaded our bags. Ana checked us in for our stay over a chilled cocktail. Asking about the possibilities of upgrading our stay, Ana gave us a fantastic casita that was perfect for our stay! Armando was the expert driver to our room, showing us all the hotel features, layout, restaurants, and gave us the best tips for planning and navigating our week. EVERYTHING about our pool and cabana service, restaurants, and beach time was delivered with a warm smile and desire to make everything perfect! Daily, Armando checked on us often, driving us to Mayakoba area dinners and attractions. Many thanks to Jezer at the beach activity center! He took us on two catamaran/snorkeling tours that rivaled any other underwater reef we have ever visited! His knowledge of the area history, topography, and aquatic life, made our excursion a highlight of our week! The on-property cenotes tour was breathtaking, and the local beekeeping exhibit was memorable and unique, too! We were sad to leave, but Emiliano made it simple to check out and understand the bill. The service, the food, the beach, the new renovations they have done… our room!!! My gosh! The whole trip start to finish was amazing! Our butler, Daniel, was incredible and always willing and able to help, the entire staff is accommodating and friendly- always going above and beyond. We were shocked when we were led to our room and couldn’t believe how beautiful it was. 5 star all the way, zero complaints. We have stayed both in the beach suites directly on the beachfront as well as the newly renovated suites along the water in the 600’s. We loved them both equally- you cannot go wrong.

Just returned from the most amazing vacation here! Beautiful facilities and amazing staff! Raul and Alejandro were amazing in the lobby bar! Every time we came back they remembered us— remembered our food allergies/preferences, where we were from, etc. So friendly and gave the best service! Edy and Diego out by the pool at Laguna were incredible! Top notch service, so friendly, and truly made our days by the pool so much fun! We loved everything about our trip!

I stayed here for a week for a retreat with work and it was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. The property is immaculately kept and the service was beyond excellent! I had a casita near the beachfront and butler service was a part of the experience. Miguel (our butler) was the kind, professional, and attentive - we didn’t have to lift a finger, he handled all our reservations, room service, transportation - you name it, he did it!
