Amazing place, amazing staff! Brito and Ale were fantastic and extremely nice. The room was clean and the breakfast was delicious. We especially loved the snack availability throughout the day and the lounge area.
A genuine gem of a boutique hotel. It's an oasis in the heart of Playa, just off 5th Avenue on cute 38th street. Beautiful jungle garden, where complimentary breakfast is served in the morning. Also enjoy a complementary beer and olives in the evening - is a really nice and appreciated touch. Mayan style, the rooms are stylish, cute and clean. The beds are on the very firm side (as seems to be the case generally in Mexico). Suggest if you are a light sleeper you bring ear plugs, as Playa is bustling at night and their is noise until after midnight. The team at the hotel are so friendly and thoughtful - as a solo, female traveller I really valued my stay here. There is a gorgeous shop right next door that offers a discount to hotel guests and sells lovely Mexican home wares and furnishings. The ethos of this hotel is spot on - complimentary distilled water in the rooms. The only things that would be helpful would be an iron in the room and a mini fridge... (and for longer stays a top up on the complimentary shower products). Thank you - I would definitely recommend to friends and stay again next time I'm in Playa. 1st class stay and really excellent value for money.…
La Semilla is a beautiful oasis in the centre of Playa del Carmen. The hotel has an amazing garden and excellent breakfasts, while the folks in reception had excellent recommendations for off the beaten track places. While the hotel is very central, it's on a quieter street so we had no problems sleeping. We loved our stay and would definitely stay here again!
I stayed at this hotel for a few nights in December 2022. I was excited to stay here at first but ended up very disappointed. First, upon arrival, I was told that I needed to pay for the whole stay upfront and in cash in order to pay at the rate I booked. Obviously I didn’t have enough cash for 4 nights and had to pay with a credit card, which means the hotel charged a higher than standard exchange rate. This directly resulted in me paying USD 100 more than my reservation rate. The room is very old and humid and the beddings made my skin itch. The worst part is the room is not sound proof at all. I could hear everything outside from people walking and talking to the loud music on the street/at the restaurant next door well after midnight and early in the morning; from people in other rooms showering to the restaurant making smoothies. I felt like I was sleeping in that restaurant next door. I barely got any rest and could only sleep with ear plugs or noise canceling headphones on. Definitely not worth the price (US$266 a night) and will not recommend to anyone. …
All the staff made us feel so welcomed and like we were old friends. Alejandro helped us with any questions we had and made sure we were going to the best places, he is a true asset to the hotel. The chef prepared an amazing breakfast every morning, set your alarm you don’t want to miss out on it! The hotel itself was perfect, the best location, very centrally located but just far enough away from the chaos.
The hotel is SO cute & nicely arranged. You get a very peronsonal approaching. Our room is very nice & clean, and the staff is also very friendly. I recommend this for everyone who wants to have a different plaja del carmen expirience. Also the location is super due to the big shopping street that is just around the corner.
Very chic and scenic hotel (in room and in common areas/outdoor area). Staff was very friendly and breakfast was lovely. My favorite part of this hotel was the outdoor area, the balcony for our room, and the fact there is an amazing restaurant directly next door (La Cueva del Chango).
Located on one of the most beautiful streets in Playa Del Carmen the hotel was a little tricky to find with very discrete signage. This was a good sign, the hotel is an absolute hidden gem. The property is BEAUTIFUL with an amazing courtyard that integrates the jungle in a dramatic way. The hotel is quiet, the rooms are clean, and the staff seemed as though they couldn’t do enough to ensure a pleasant stay. The breakfast was wonderful and as a surprise some of the wildlife in the jungle behind the dining area came to join us for some fruit. I rarely write reviews but this was truly a special experience that I couldn’t recommend enough as an accommodation and experience in PDC
I had the pleasure to stay in this little gem. Coming from Cancun by car I was shocked by all these skyscraper hotels with its bracelet population. Semilla offers free parking in front even bicycles that are wonderful to explore the area. All front desk stuff has been round the clock attentive helpful & charming. My room was ground floor so I had a calm green view in the courtyard with birds singing. If you think of the loud restaurants and evening venues such tranquillity is rare. Little cosy terrace offering privacy. Bed was super comfy and cosy. Why do you need a 50m breakfast where you eat too much? I was curious about the comments regarding the little local bf surprises. They changed daily and were prepared with love. All in All superb. Location is perfect in a green street with restaurants. Next beach 8min. You get cosy towels. Even a glass of wine to chill out the day. Thanks to all stuff for being wonderful. See you again! Markus…
This was my first visit to Hotel La Semilla and I was very Impressed and happy with my stay! The checkin process was smooth, the room was perfect, and the location was also great! The AC worked great in the room and it was very cool and comfortable. The garden is great for relaxing and having a coffee, tea, or wine (all complimentary). The breakfast each morning was delicious and consisted of fresh fruit with honey, omelet, quesadilla and breads. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. Ale especially helped me throughout my stay, making sure I had everything I needed to be happy and comfortable. Hotel La Semilla is a peaceful little escape and I loved everything about it!
