Terrible experience! Would not recommend at all! Customer service was beyond horrible. The room was dirty with mold on the faucets of the sink and shower. The A/C was not working with nearly 40 degrees Celsius inside and they booked me in a room on the 3rd floor with the elevators not working. The room only has one dim light so it is very dark, and no outlets to charge your phone. When I arrived in my car rental, I parked in front of the hotel where the hotel staff saw me. They were unable to inform me that they had a parking garage. Just ONE hour later, I got fined by transit and almost got my car towed!!! Then when I finally go to my room, the A/C was not working. I asked the manager of the hotel to change my room to one with A/C and he screamed and insulted me, basically gaslighting me saying "this was the normal air of the beach and jungle of the region." And instead of giving me a solution, he said that I could cancel my reservation (without refund of course) at 10 pm. I do NOT recommend this place. Please, do yourself a favor and do not book here if you want to have a good experience at Playa del Carmen. And based on my experience, not recommended for female travelers! Me and my friend did not feel safe at any time after the insults of the manager.

The location of this hotel could not be more perfect. A couple blocks from busy 5th Avenue and a couple blocks from Walmart and the Mega store. The entire staff was absolutely incredible! Always friendly and helpful. The included breakfast was fantastic and you get to choose from numerous options on their breakfast menu. If you don’t eat down on 5th Avenue and more at some of the incredible restaurants closer to the hotel you can eat for an extremely low price. Most places we were able to order two entrees and 3-4 beers for around $25 USD. Our room (609) was great. Bed was comfortable, AC was great, had mini fridge, tons of closet space and a huge bathroom. We faced the road but found it very quiet at night. Would highly recommend this hotel and we will absolutely stay here again.

OK stayed at 3 other hotels in playa del carmen before here. And this was the best. It's a middle budget hotel. Yet staff and accommodations were great only downsides were elevator to rooftop was not working wish means I got my exercise. And the bathroom was small. With that said it's a peaceful retreat within the walls and rooftop pool and bar a great place.

We really enjoyed the stay at La Pasion hotel. This hotel is so lovely, clean and nicely decorated all over the property. Great location, too. Very quite. We got a room with a bathtub, which we ended up not using. I'd imagine the room with shower only would have much more space since the bathtub took quite space. The only complaint with the room was the shower & toilet area was super tiny, you can barely move around and/or close the door. The shower itself was great - plenty of water and it was hot! Breakfast at a cafe on the ground floor was very nice. They serve egg, fruit and a nice coffee made with an espresso machine. If you're a pool person, there are two pools: one on the ground floor and another on rooftop. The rooftop seems very nice. We'd definitely stay here again when we come back to Playa del Carmen!

We enjoyed the room size, off street parking garage, free full breakfast and patio with two pools and a jacuzzi. The staff were wonderful and helpful.great location withing walking distance of many shops, restaurants, dive shops. Roof top outdoor cabanas were rund down and in need of repair. No roof bar and not much of a daytime view but at night can be nice. Would stay there again!!

The room was quite spacious & the balcony with 2 chairs faced the courtyard & overlooked the 2 pools & hot tub/spa (which I thought from their ads referred to an area for massages & manicures). The room was kept at a reasonable temperature with the A/C, but the system leaked considerably every time it was turned off - leaving quite a pool of water on the floor in front of the patio door. The bathroom - which was one step up from the bedroom - was tiny to the point that you had to close the door to access the sink or shower. The supply of small bottles of body wash & conditioner was good - but no shampoo. Front desk staff was friendly, but when they said they'd deal with your problem in 10 minutes, it was the norm to wait for 20 minutes & then ask them again. (There were no phones in the room, so you had to go back to the front desk in person.) The restaurant staff were good & I'd give the breakfasts a 4 out of 5 rating. One evening about 3 days before our departure, I took a nasty fall within about 10' of the front entrance, hit my face on a concrete pony wall, & went down on my right knee & hand. As my son helped me into the lobby, he asked the front desk staff for some ice. They said no can do. My son in a more forceful tone said that I'd fallen & they needed to get some ice. They got me some ice. On our last weekend, we arrived back at the hotel about 10 PM on a Saturday to find the one elevator out of order. (My instincts told me they weren't going to get a repair technician out on a Sunday!) So it's up & down to/from my 3rd floor room on Sunday & Monday til our noon checkout. The location was good & a short walk to shops & restaurants on the pedestrian main Street. I'd definitely give La Pasion an average rating.

I had a great experience at this hotel. Staff were always attentive, helpful, just great overall. The room met my expectations, bathroom a little small, but the bed was comfortable and AC worked. Spent some time at the rooftop bar because of rain, Lalo the bartender was awesome. The hotel is in a great location close to 5th but away from the crowds. The breakfast was also very good. I will definitely book again my next time in PDC

That was our first visit to Mexico. We lived in two hotels. This one was the first, as we wanted to travel around the Yucatan peninsula first, we considered this hotel just as a bed-and-breakfast place. Our next destination was a hotel in the Cancun hotel zone. And I should confess that in spite of the proximity to the beach and great food in our other hotel, we recalled La Pasion almost every single day. It was very cosy and clean, even with a tiny bathroom. I loved the design, those magical hearts everywhere and a lot of plants in their inner yard (garden area). Well, as in any hotel, a picky guest may find some flaws, but their friendly and supportive staff. I completely agree with other guests that the team became a family and even more. One of my friends forgot his mobile phone in one of the taxis. We remembered neither the name of the driver, nor the number of the cab, but Rafael did a great job. He contacted the taxi company, talked to a lot of other drivers, conducted a real investigation, and it was a real miracle when in a day my friend got his mobile phone back. By the way, if you want to book any tours, you can do that in the hotel. They offer the best deals, which we could get elsewhere. I definitely recommend it!

This hotel is wonderful! I stayed Jan 2 to Jan 8, mostly by myself. An oasis in the middle of the busy city. 10 min walk to beach, ADO terminal and 5 minutes walk to 5th Avenue. The pools are small, but they are clean, refreshing and beautifully landscaped Staff is lovely, when I had to leave my stuff w desk for a pre planned room switch ( my daughter was arriving so I wanted a room w 2 beds) they were quick to ask if I had anything that needed to go in their refrigerator. Super kind Hot cooked to order breakfast next door was wonderful. Later in day it becomes a tapas restaurant w delicious food. I ate there 3 nights Rooftop pool w bar awesome. Kind friendly bartender made me delicious mojitos Filtered water in lobby, refrigerator in room and in room control of air conditioning. Wonderful 500 feet from Walmart, easy to use Santander. ATM in Walmart. Next to cool town park. This place is a gem!
