Can't say enough about the staff, all great people. The entertainment staff, bartenders and lobby staff were all excellent! This was a much smaller resort than what we normally visit, so food and activities are very limited. There are several poolside activities for children but little for adults. The beach had seaweed and too many boats in the water close to the beach area. The is also public beach on each side to the resort's beach allowing random people to walk up to the resort. Over all it is clean and friendly but small so food and activities are limited.

Hotel's Favorite
We are currently staying at this hotel and I feel I have to write a review! We have a 7 & 5 year old and have been blown away by how good this place is. We are staying one week all inclusive. As a small resort, and knowing resorts in Mexico can be ‘hit or Miss’ , we were nervous about our stay. However, every single member of staff has been wonderful and they can’t do enough for you. The kids club activities are so fun - the kids made chefs hats and cookies one day and the next made craft piñatas before having a piñata party after. They seek out families to make sure all children are invited to attend these fun activities and the staff are so happy and energetic. Adrianna and Maria have been AMAZING with our kids - the kids don’t want to leave! Honestly, they are very special people. Poolside, there are plenty of beds available and the place is so clean. They have mini golf, table tennis, pool and other activities for you to enjoy and throughout the day there is a lot to get involved in - again, the staff make a huge effort here. There was even a singer and saxophone player poolside to entertain people! The food is great - big selection (and a kids area with the standard chips, plain pasta, fish fingers, pizza and veggies etc). The drinks also are great. There is a poolside snack bar which is such a bonus if you don’t fancy the buffet or restaurants. There is a kids pool, jacuzzi and big main pool with easy steps access and steps on the side and places for loungers in the pool. Covid measures are great. Everyone wears a mask, they take your temperature on entry and spray the rooms and public areas daily. The buffet is served to you by chefs and everyone is very respectful. The buffet overlooks the sea and is gorgeous. The hotel is a 1 minute walk from a pharmacy and 7-11 convenience store. 5/10 minutes away there are lots of restaurants and stores / markets which are lovely to explore. The hotel arranged a hire car for us (MUCH cheaper than the airport - I think we pay $65 a day ALL IN) and it’s a lovely car. We have traveled to local cenotes and lagoons for snorkelling which is well worth doing. There are no hard sells at this hotel like others we have been too.. they are all genuinely really friendly people. They also all speak amazing English! Nobody expects a tip (although they work so hard, they deserve it!). Ive also booked an 80 minute spa treatment on Sunday (massage, facial and scrub) for only $95 - this is great value. Beds are comfy, showers hot and a mini fridge is stocked with lots of drinks. TV shows Spanish and English channels (probably more but we’ve stuck to cartoons!) WiFi is great. We were expecting a standard hotel that we could crash in as we explored playa del Carmen and tulum but this place has been such a find, we haven’t wanted to leave much!! The ONLY downside is the beach and sea is full of seaweed (not the hotels fault, they have workers out at 6am clearing it), so it can be a little smelly when the wind and sun are strong.. I mean that’s all I can think of of any sort of negative. The sea is strong and it’s not really swimable at the moment- however it’s next to a public beach and it makes for a really nice walk. Finally, I highly recommend you book this place. You won’t be disappointed!

We stayed here for this past week and it was just what we hoped for. Great place close to town (a block or two from 5th ave.) We were a little worried about how the resort would react to covid, but they did a fantastic job on sanitization, whether in room, the gym, the pool… the staff here works very hard. The room was about what we expected, could use some fresh paint and the beds were a little hard… but the ac was ice cold and the water in the shower was hot in seconds. They always made sure we have beer and soft drinks in the fridge and would always bring me a couple more if I ran out. The seaweed is still a thing down here in October, but they have a section of the beach blocked off and crews working to remove what little seaweed makes it through the buoys. The food was alright at the buffet, breakfast was nice with fresh fruit and made to order omelettes, we aren’t picky eaters and could always find something to eat. 5th st has everything you could want and is super close if the meals get repetitive. The resturants were all very nice and had some tasty options. Jesus, Alan rotated around, and Brenda was always at Samurai… all very sweet and attentive to anything you could want. They made us both feel like family. Volleyball at the pool and other activities were great… Boris, Maria and Moses were so friendly. They were always trying to get you involved in something, keeping games light hearted and fun. They also did a great job with the nightly shows. Drink wise there is a wide variety of selections, 3-4 beer options and the (VIP) or top shelf liquor option is a nice touch. Luis is a madman at the pool bar, that guy whips out drinks so fast. Mergdial at the VIP bar is a craftsman, always finding new fun shots and cocktails to try…. And a special shout out to my man Geraldo… he’s truly a gem. We talked about life, sports, everything… he’s as genuine as they come and always has a smile on his face. Id come back just to hang out with him some more. Overall the trip was a blast, a great passionate staff combined with a smaller stress free resort. Until we see you again, keep up the good vibes Reef Coco Beach!

I had an amazing time traveling with my family and The Reef Coco Beach made it even better. The service was amazing and all the employees were so kind and attentive. Adriana, and Maria were so fun doing activities with the Kids Club. It was so much fun to participate in activities with Boris, he made everything so energetic and amazing. They made our stay at the hotel super exciting and filled with fun. There were so many fun activities all day and I felt very comfortable and welcome at the hotel. They helped us arrange tours and gave us great advice on the best sites to see and family friendly places to go. I had an amazing trip and am looking forward to visiting this hotel again.

The Reef Coco Beach is a great find. Super affordable. Great food. The all inclusive has several levels of buy in so you can easily get a good fit for your budget. The grounds around the hotel are immaculately kept. The staff works around the clock to keep things clean and beautiful. Speaking of staff. A HUGE shout out to Boris! This guy kept the fun rolling all day everyday. Yulianna at Guest Services was such an amazing help with logistics as well. Be prepared. When you arrive they invite you to a breakfast to find out about their vacation club. They are super nice and not pushy about it at all. It’s not a time share. But the experience might feel similar. You get free stuff. David our welcome host signed us up and hooked us up with a really cool tour. The Reef for us felt like a home away from home. Everyone says hi. They ask how you’re doing. They truly seem interested it making your vacation awesome. We’re going back ASAP. If I had to pick something that needed improving, our room had some minor repairs needed. Minor cosmetics really. Nothing I cared about considering why was right outside our door… paradise.
