Highly recommend the Reef Coco Beach in Playa Del Carmen, everything about the hotel was fantastic , lovely sized rooms , very clean throughout and rooms tidied and cleaned and beds made every day , all staff and other guests very friendly , food was also great , we didn’t try the Italian or Mexican restaurants as we loved the buffet and all the choices on offer , it was also great to be able to sit one side of the restaurant overlooking the beach front or other side in a lovely air conditioned area so they really had thought of it all. Activities around the pool and on the beach were also fab, Boris’s aqua aerobics is definitely the best ever , staff are friendly and try to encourage everyone to join in without being pushy. 5th Avenue is only 5-10 mins walk away from hotel for some retail therapy. Try to avoid the touts on the beach as we went on one trip to Holbox which was not great and hotel weren’t able to help us contact the trip organiser as we had not booked through the hotel. Otherwise we had a really wonderful time at the reef coco Beach and wouldn’t hesitate to return. We are unsure why there are negative reviews as we found everything just great. If you are considering going to Mexico and this is on your shortlist book it. Wifi was also included in our stay so extra charges for this. The all inclusive package only included the local spirits and not the branded ones but we were happy with this, branded drinks can be charged to your room as an extra. Also forgot to mention there was always loads of seats available so no rushing to put towels down on a sun bed in the morning. Lifts to go to all floors in the hotel as well. Two small shops in the hotel were quite expensive so we just shopped down at 7/11 for snacks and into 5th Avenue for souvenirs. Best place to buy tequila is in Walmart and also cheaper keyrings and magnets in Walmart too. Hope this review helps. Thanks to all the staff at the Reef for a wonderful stay …

Great atmosphere, incredible and welcoming people. The Italian restaurant is the best! Daniel & Pedro are great hosts! Lots of activities if you want to have fun or just relax. Perfect for families and couples. PS: try to avoid the tourist traps, unless you want to exchange your time for a few free gifts.

We had a great time at the Reef! Borris was always a great host, there was a lot to do here, and there were shops within walking distance. I would definitely go back, it is great for families as well as friends.

Great, relaxing trip. Not a lot of bells and whistles. This resort is a good value. It has a calm, relaxing vibe. The staff is attentive and the room was clean. We had a nice view of the pool in a spacious balcony. Special shout out to our favorite bartender Geraldo. He has a great attitude and sense of humor. Never let our glasses get dry.

Personal at front desk rude. Phone in my room wasnt working, i went to the front desk and told them.. they never fixed it (6days at the resort) and i was telling them once a day so beasaclly i coudnt call i order room service.. the restroom in my room was dirty.. the shampoo and bodycream stinks like pee. Etc etc... im realy despointed

The service room, food (especially Italian restaurant) and drinks are just great. And of course, an amazing animation program. Valeria at spa is great at massages. Geraldo and bartender in lobby are fabulous. Marco at sports bar is quiet, so get him talking, he does great. well kept property. soda in fridges only in room - no water or beer. they clean pool daily. it's sargass bad on beach - can't swim here😭 con - food at buffet for breakfast and supper went downhill from 2015. Italian was phenomenal. do not upgrade to eat Japanese. not worth it! $24/pp, 15/kid.

The hotel aesthetics are attractive. The rooms are tiny. The beds are hard, pillows terrible half size pillows. AC works well. The buffet is disgusting. The service is subpar. Front desk service TERRIBLE! Right when we walked in we were bombarded with a worker trying to get us to take 90 minutes out of our first day to try and sell us a time share (which they wouldn’t say). Very sneaky way they went about it. Overall I wouldn’t go back
