The hotel seams to be nice but at the night a Salsa club starts to make a lot of noise till 2 am - 3 am. Its the worst experience I every had and I have been traveling a lot. One night was enough we where lucky that we didn't book any more nights before arrival.
Hotel is pretty good. Staff is kind and helpful. Breakfast is real good, specially the chilaquiles. Room was big and clean. Bed was comfortable. The only downside was the noise. There is a bar or something right in front of the hotel and the music was so loud, and it seemed as the night was passing by the music got louder and louder. This is why I would not recommend it for families with small children but if you come in alone or in couples it is great. The location is fantastic right in the middle of everything.
The place, the rooms, the staff its all perfect. Thats why I have mixed feelings writing this review. We booked for 3 night but had to leave after one. One month ago, a bar opened across the street. The music in this bar is sooo loud, I never ever experienced something like this before. There werent even people in the bar and they still kept on playing music until 3 am. We did not sleep at all, which is very exhausting after a long flight. We decided to leave after one night, unfortunately we didnt get any refunds. But still, this is not the hotels fault, and I hope they figure something out with the bar since its ruining the experience for the guests of this great hotel.
The photos on the internet are not recent. The pool area was a construction site. The rooms are noisy and next to a bar that played heavy metal music all night long. The staff didn't want to help at all and I was left for an hour in the reception before I was shown to my room. I would avoid this property if you have children, the area around the pool is not safe,
Me and my boyfriend stayed 9 days at Riviera del Sol this February. We had a nice time there: the staff was very helpful and supported us with many things (e.g. calling transport shuttle to airport, ordering pizza during a heavy rainy evening etc). The breakfast is very good and healthy, with homemade yogurt and fresh fruit always available. There is a nice pool area, where we enjoyed chilling in the afternoon. The location is very central; this means also a bit of noise (which is easily solvable with ear plugs for those who are light sleepers).
Nice hotel on a noisy street. Good breakfast included. Everything in the hotel works which is rare in Mexico. Unfortunately Playa Del Carmen is now charging $1 per hour. If you don’t pay they boot your car.
Me and my small family (girlfriend and 1 1/2 year old boy) stayed here for five nights in february 2020. We had some problem with our airline who lost our stroller and the receptionist Victor helped us a lot. Other good things about this place is the breakfast and the clean and beautiful surroundings(there is a nice lounge and also around the pool the staff in charge did a great job with plants and trees and made it into an Oasis. The room was great. The cleaning staff really on point. Also I did yoga with the theacher Theresa and I can recomend her. So why not a full 5 star review? The wifi hardly worked (we informed the staff) and the pool was cold at times. But anyway I would still recomend a visit.
We stayed at Riviera Del Sol for two nights. The breakfast was delicious, service was outstanding, really nice pool and big spacious room. Very well located and the staff went the extra mile. I had left something at the hotel and someone brought it over to Cancun for me at no charge- highly recommend this hotel!
Overall, my stay was good. I can only complain about the pool water being cold and thereafter the pool being closed for cleaning. It is a very cute pool in the middle of the hotel that would have been nice to utilize. I noticed prior to my stay people had written reviews about loud noise, I will say that the noise isn't too bad at night. I had a baby and two other children who were unbothered. Otherwise, this hotel has a very relaxing and cozy atmosphere with pretty decent food, contrary to other reviews.
My wife and I and another couple stayed here for 3 nights in October, mainly because of reviews from Trip Advisor. The room was very nice with a comfortable bed. My only complaint was that they didn't include any wash cloths, only towels. We rented rooms with balconys which cost a few dollars more but was well worth it. They gave us a coupon to buy a spot at a real nice beach bar (only 2 blocks away) where we had our own lounge chairs with a table and umbrella. We had to spend I think 250 pesos per person but they served us lunch and drinks on the beach. The morning breakfast was free and really not too bad with fresh squeezed orange juice, coffee, toast with home made jelly, eggs and various other choices. Perfect to start the day. All the employees were very helpful and courteous. Overall a good buy at $50 a night! We didn't use the pool much which is located in a central courtyard but many other people did. We usually went to the beach instead. Overall a good buy at $50 a night!…
