Our second time here. Honestly l don’t know what people are moaning about. You lot really need to get a life and stop complaining. Yes we had to wait 15-20 mins to check in but it was quick and they didn’t try to sell us anything. We then got taken to our room and we loved it. It was clean and the mattress was lovely and comfortable. We where happy with our cleaner. Our minibar was replenished everyday and if your about when it’s being done you can ask for what you want. We were given it. We had a ground floor room and we loved all the animals coming to see us. Some people don’t like it but what you have to remember is that they were here before the hotel was built and it has encroached on there jungle. Okay, there was a problem with the seaweed and this isn’t the hotels fault. The men worked tirelessly cleaning it up. The beach most of the time was free from it and the last few days there hasn’t been any in the water. If you walk a long the beach there was plenty of it at other hotels even the so called posher ones.If you go to Playa Del Carmen it’s 10 times worse. Yes from time to time it was smelly but it’s Mother Nature and nothing is going to stop it. The majority of the time is was smell free. As for people saying they went and paid for another hotel after day one l’d take that with a pinch of salt. Would you really lose all that money. I think not. The food we enjoyed. Again ignore all the moaning from other people. It’s obviously there purpose in life. Plenty of choice and always tasted nice. The waiters worked there socks off especially for what they are paid. Drinks were really nice and not short on alcohol. We didn’t pay for Privelege and wouldn’t not for the extra. Honestly l am not fussy about branded drink. On 2 occasions we couldn’t get a sun bed and l was annoyed when my towels got removed by Americans and they took the sun beds. We never once went out early to put towels down and never would. Would seem though that it is okay for the Americans and Canadians to do this but then they do that everywhere. I would just say we have manners and are not greedy or rude. We had a waiter on the beach serving us drinks and we always tipped him. And so what if there wasn’t. It was a 30 second walk to the swim up bar. Some people are lazy. With regards to the pools. The smaller one was were all the activities and noise was. The music was loud but l enjoy listening to music so it didn’t bother us. The hotel next to us was loud and this is common for lots of hotels. If it doesn’t say quiet hotel in the description then it’s not going to be. Research first before booking and you won’t be disappointed. We like it that it is free from children. We did the odd trip and had a lovely taxi driver. I can’t fault the people. They were kind and always chatty and happy. This is like a lot of the 5 * reviews honest and to the point. Yes l would return again. And just one other thing. We arrived 7th May and you don’t have to have a COVID test.

Ok, this was an experience! I will try to cover as much as I can. Let me just start with the bad, and the biggest complaint I see in reviews. SEAWEED, there is NOTHING anyone anywhere can do about this. They have staff shoveling it off the beach before the sun rises. Mother nature brings it back faster than they can load it. The smell is a bit annoying but the bartenders seem like they are on a mission to keep you drunk so just drink and you wont smell a thing. If you can do without the ocean water you will be fine, if the beach is a must you can enjoy the sand or fight thru the seaweed OR walk a little under a mile and you'll be able to enter the water freely. Food: I am a vegan so I am always bothered by the lack of options, however this was NOT the case, I particularly enjoyed the buffet. We also dines at the Blue Moon which was super "fancy" but not quite my cup of tea. If you like to dress up and fine dine then this would be great. Room service is timely and tasty! They have the best ceviche I have eaten in YEARS. Activities/Entertainment ... I give them a 9/10 ... maybe because I wanted them to KEEP GOING lol ... I was booked into villa #12 which gave m e pool/beach access - perfect room, anything along 12 (10, 11 etc) are perfect but a walk back to the reception area, buffet and nightly entertainment. Great room, large enough bathroom and all the amenities with daily turn down service. The grounds are well manicured and every fifteen feet there's something to take a picture in front of Two pools, a calm one and of course the one with the swim up bar is party central. Did I mention the drinks will get you drunk? Not watered down AT ALL. The staff are all great. Now they will tell you when you check in, do not feed the animals - they are annoying but hey ... its the tropics .. .and I stomped my foot twice and they went about their business. I will DEFINITELY stay here again ... had a great time, HIGHLY recommend

This is my second time here, I find that they have some improvements to make but overall it was a pleasant stay. I will start with the pluses, even though the hotel is a bit outdated the rooms are very well kept and the beds are comfortable. The staff is absolutely amazing, everyone is super helpful and friendly. The scent at the lobby smells amazing. The size of the hotel is perfect, not too big and not too small. Drinks are actually very good. They keep the beach clean. They have great wildlife in the property. Spa is really good, Cassandra gave me an amazing massage. There are a few areas of opportunity. The privilege section does not really feel much different than regular rooms. Food is not great. Room service options is terrible, they take a very long time to deliver as well. The outdoor hot tubs have frogs living inside and when you turn it on that come out. I actually hurt myself when I found myself in a bubble bath with. frogs. They should do something to protect patio area from the animals. I tried having breakfast outside and all of a sudden a whole bunch of animals came and where ready to attack. I will include a picture. I would probably not come back because I expect more for the amount of money we paid but I would recommend it if f you find a good deal.

I was a little nervous about staying here after reading some reviews. People complaining about the seaweed, this is NOT the hotels fault this is nature! The hotel has no control over the current situation. They have been working all day everyday to clean the beaches. When we arrived it was bad, after day 3 we have been in the ocean everyday. The beach is clean, and the water is almost back to normal. Again a situation caused by nature is not the fault of the hotel. Check in was quick and easy, they do have people trying to get you to go visit another site as part of a sales pitch. We just say no and go to our room . Our room was clean, spacious, and the bed was comfortable. the A/C was GREAT! They cleaned our room 2 x per day and they did a great job. We had one issue on the first night with the hot water. We told the front desk and by the time we got back from dinner it was working. They have many specialty restaurants. Mexican, Italian, Japanese, French, a buffet, and a Privilege for guest who upgrade to Privilege. We tried all of them. Mexican- B+ Italian- B+ (the lasanga was very very good) French-A- Japanese A- Privilege B Buffet C+ The service at all restaruants ranged from good to excellent. The pool- 2 sides quiet and rowdy you choose! There is on bar by loud pool. Here you will find great bartenders who are heavy pourers! The is no watered down weak drinks being served at any bar in this place. They arent playing. Beach was beautiful and breezy. Of course you has the usual AI beach/pool chair games. People go out early, put a towel down on a chair and they dont show up for 4 more hours. It is complete crap and happens at all AIS. Some even do this at beach and pool so they can go back an forth. We dont play this game and always found places to sit. There was an ocassional person who came around pool and beach to get drinks for you but that was rare and inconsistant. The grounds are lovely, this resort is the perfect size in my opinion. No 1/2 mile wallk to pool or beach, nogold carts needed, a very quick walk gets you anyywhere. The wildlife makes you smile everyday. Most of the guests are lovely, friendly, and fun! We met some lovely people. Trish from UK!!!! Mary and Keith from TX we want you all to come visit! Covid testing was run smooth and quckly. After many years of all kinds of AI's I truly enjoyed this one. Enrique checked on us everyday to make sure what had everything we needed. I would almost gaurentee that we would come back except for one problem that we had every morning. At 8:30 evry morning the cleaning staff would clean the room above us. Every morning we woke up to screetching furniture being scrapped across our ceiling. For 10 -15 min that is how we were woken. On vacation I like to sleep a little late. Not a chance, 8:30 wake up like clock work. I walked up stairs to make sure it was hoousekeeping and not just noisy neighbors. It must have been her 1st room of the day, EVERYDAY! We went and spoke to our bulter, on day 2, on day 3 the front desk, on day 4 the Privilege desk and butler again. If I had known that they couldnt correct this issue I would have demanded to be moved. No way did I think that something management could have dealt with very simply, they choose not to do. This is why I gave a 4 not a 5. This could also be a deciding fact on whether we return of not.

Ill first start off with the good, going to Cuba for most of my life, i must say this resort was decent in regards to foods, it was actually edible however not much options at the buffet. The bartenders/servers and entertainers did the best they could to make guests happy which was good! In regards to the negative, where do i begin. The foul smell from the seaweed was unbearable , we spent most of our time by the pool(be weary one of the pools does have the smell as well as it is close by the beach. I found the front desk staff to be poor in organization and rather more of thieves. The one night i lost my room key "Alberto" at the front desk requested that i pay some sort of fee although it was my first time losing my key.. i dont get it, why am i being extorted to get back into my room? Secondly a miss charge for an incident that did not happen to begin with ( charging us $95 for puking in the pool when no one did). The pool bars closing at 5:30, causing long line ups on the other side of the pool bar? (why dont you just leave both sides open). Front desk also tried charging us with a massage we did not even take, we only expressed interest and cancelled our appointment 24 hours prior. Front desk staff also tried charging us again with the $15 dollar fee for visitor tax, when we had already paid upon arrival. Another annoyance was Margarita / Spa staff, constantly nagging you to take an excursion or have a massage at such high rates. If your looking for cheap excursions look for humberto on the beach we booked with him and it was enjoyable. All in all this resort felt like all they wanted was money from anybody, be careful with that. I would not recommend this group to any one.

Horrible experience. Seaweed left to rot on the shore caused a stench to permeate the entire resort -- like a sewer back-up. The food was OK, staff was hit or miss -- either really helpful or sullen, beach was unusable because of the seaweed, drinks seemed to be watered down. Went to the spa and paid, and was then presented a duplicate bill at check-out because someone in the spa "forgot" to apply it. Also, we had money taken from our rooms, although the hotel did reimburse us for that. Just not the place to spend your money.

My husband and I stayed from May 6-13 and the best time! The resort is nice, the grounds are amazing, the food is very good, and the staff is friendly. We spent our days relaxing in the fun pool and made new friends. We were up early, usually before 7 am so never had a problem getting chairs although you do have to go early. Our room was cleaned perfectly every day, smelling fresh. We did not do any excursions as we did not want to be "on the clock". We did walk to the Lagoon on Day 6 which is AMAZING and so worth the 20 min walk there and back. Bring some snacks, towels, drinks, and spend a few hours there. So beautiful! We really had a great week despite the seaweed and the Coati that stole the chicken off my plate. I can not understand people who complain. Stay home.

So unfortunately there was a series of events that caused my husband and I to leave the next morning to the point that we paid for an entire new vacation just to get out of this hotel. First let me say, the staff was wonderful and super nice. Here were the issues: First the SMELL of seaweed engulfed the entire resort the day we checked in. I know there’s always the risk of seaweed when going to Mexico, and I’m okay with not using the beach.. HOWEVER when you can’t even enjoy being in the pool or outside because of the smell, that’s pretty bad. And unfortunately the pools are right up along the beach so the smell intensified the closer you got to the ocean. First impressions. This is a small resort and also feels a bit run down. There’s only two pools, both right next to each other. There’s no swim up bar. They call the one pool the “disaster pool” because there’s always noise and something going on. The one employee told us you could walk the entire resort in 10 mins. The food is not good (the little we tried.) We got there early so they offered us the buffet. When you go up to the buffet you’re required to wear a mask AND gloves when serving yourself. I personally feel like if you have to wear gloves to serve yourself, then there should be someone behind the line serving you. Nothing wow’d us with the food, just mediocre. Then later on, we ordered room service and it was even worse. First, you had to order room service on the website AND you could only order one entree per person. That felt a little cheap, no? We got the flank steak with Chimichurri, refried beans, and fries & the club sandwich. The steak tasted like a Salisbury steak that was slow cooked and only came with fries. The club sandwich was not toasted and so bland. I wanted to like this resort so bad because I read great reviews… but then the next morning we wake up to every single noise that could possibly be happening outside. The walls are super thin. I was up at 7am from people talking, going up and down the stairs, leaving their room, shutting the doors… then at 9:30am they started construction and jack hammering. And at this point I was done and needed to leave. We ended up booking at Margaritaville Resort and when we arrived the ocean was clear and there was NO smell! It was a huge turnaround. I added a map of the resort so you can see the layout.
