We had an amazing stay at the Viceroy Riviera Maya... SERVICE: I have not experienced more attentive service at a resort... Any request was met with ease, speed and grace... Each morning we were greeted by Rodrigo's cheerfulness at breakfast... The service at the pool/beach was particularly legendary... William, Jose and Pepe made every day great with cool towels, water, fresh fruit, sun glasses cleaning and cocktails... The only minor concern we had was the Internet service in our villa was spotty with frequent disconnections...

...Pepe at poolside was fantastic to us and always stopped to make sure we were taken care of. Augustine was an excellent General Manager who also checked in daily to see if we needed a reservation made or additional accommodations...

We asked what was the Chaya (in green drink) he explained then made us a special refreshing margarita with Chaya (not on menu) the most amazing thing about service was employees had the ability to please the guest outside the structure of the resort, another example of this was when we first arrived we just wanted fresh seafood being from the Midwest, we ordered Ceviche then asked about any other fresh seafood and Yael our waiter said he would request something special from the chef and out came another dish not on menu that was amazing... Working the bar was Miquel and Leo and they always had our favorite drinks coming, Miquel was very knowledgeable and my husband called Leo (Leo DiCaprio) because he always had a big smile on his face... On the beach we couldn't ask for better service... My husband and I have a local massage therapist and always schedule massage's whenever we travel... This was not the case with Julio, as a matter of fact his was the best massage I've ever had and Maria who gave my husbands massage was in his top 4... Lastly thanks to Augustine for showing us around...

I just absolutely adored this resort during my trip to Mexico this past May. All of the amenities are wonderful, the staff was so kind and thoughtful - they even decorated our room for my friend's birthday while we were out for the day!... The food at both restaurants was wonderful, and our villa was just so incredibly nice... I enjoyed showering outdoors every night, and my friend was obsessed with the indoor shower... We loved our private dipping pool and hammock, and were blown away by the amount of closet space we had!... I would have loved to stay another week and spent some time at the spa, gym, & the cutest little painting area, and wish i had a few more days lounging around the pool and in our villa... Our stay was perfection - from the non alcoholic welcome drinks and personalized introduction to our room, to the minute we regrettably had to leave...

Yet, a short walk you are right on a beautiful beach... There are beautiful sunrises & sunsets at the beach... There is a secure ocean swimming area to the right of the hotel... The breakfasts & dinners were beyond divine, fresh and delicious!... All the servers & staff were cheerful, accommodating and very hard working... We had a couples massage our first full day... We went to the spa every day to enjoy the sauna, special honey scrub & hot tub... The view out to the beach and the detailed yoga instruction I will carry in my mind and heart... The service and attention to detail is what makes this beautiful hotel so unique...

...From the beginning of our registration to departing, all the Viceroy staff went above and beyond to ensure my wife and I had a pleasurable and memorable stay... Edgar and Claudia provided the option to move to a new villa to make our stay a pleasurable experience... The new villa surpassed our expectations and will now become one of our favorites... Throughout our stay Edgar would check on all his guests to ensure the quality of the experience was not lost... Pepe provided us with a daily warm greeting, sweet treats and pleasant conversation throughout our stay... While at the beach, William provided never-ending ice buckets of bottled water, lunch and other beverages of our choice, and Jose provided us towels and clean sunglasses daily...

...I am so glad we chose to stay at this luxury, smaller boutique like resort. There were only about 35 other guests there while we were so it was never crowded, loud or anything but secluded, exclusive luxury... The rare comments I have seen in reviews about the facilities being out of date are a bit silly as the villas, restaurants and beach furniture were all very nice and appropriate for the resort’s style... It’s not a modern hotel; it’s an upscale, eco friendly villa in the jungle while simultaneously being on the beach... That being said, it’s to help pay for all the incredible service you receive from literally all of the staff so I understand why it’s there just would’ve been less shock value to know ahead of time and we would’ve brought more cash... Would expect to pay ~ $350 a day for drinks, lunch, dinner for a couple... The service from everyone was truly impeccable and what makes this resort such a gem... They anticipate your wants before you even know what you want or need and everything was personalized... Highly recommend a massage at the spa it was a glorious experience outside and 50 mins felt like 80, the mezcal/tacos tasting, churros, any of their cocktails with passion fruit, and the Al pastor suckling pig dinner entree!...

VRM is the most incredible place I've ever stayed. My daughter and I spent four fabulous nights in Royal villa, #17, which is about midway into the the property (which is long and slender, from jungle to beach)... True to everything described, VRM is an amazing blend of manicured pathways thru the jungle, opening up to a beautiful pool/beachfront... The gorgeous pool and then the plunge pool (every villa has one), were perfecto!... When at the villa, we felt like we had a luxurious, private and mostly quiet place alone in the jungle... We had coffee brought to us every morning, poolside and even beakfast at the beach under a thatched double recliner... We indulged ourselves in a spa day that included everything, including mani/pedis, facials, and the best massages of our lives!... All to the outside sounds of flowing waterfall!... ), our massage therapists who are total jewels... Edgar, the resort butler, was always checking on our needs, our questions, and unfailingly with a smile and great conversation... This place checked all the boxes for me, especially it's boutique size and heavenly setting... The plunge pool totally sealed the deal...

...We loved the private plunge pool and furniture on the patio. The outdoor shower was incredible and the bathtub had plenty of room for two... Each morning a wicker basket of fresh coffee and pastries magically appeared outside your patio door...

...We even ended up canceling an adventure day to stay pool / beachside because we were so enthralled. The spa is small but incredible - they walk you out to a jungle canapy with incence and a waterfall... My wife and I started with a couples massage and the experience was so amazing that we came back the next day for the best facials of our lives!!...
