I spent 4 days here and it was a great experience. The service is unmatched - all the employees are friendly, attentive and very prompt. When i couldnt locate my driver at the airport( due to the business of cancun airport outside) they called him straight away and did not hang up until they had contacted him and provided me with an update.
When you arrive - you are greeted with a welcome drink and a tour of the room. They will even provide you with handmade soap in addition to the ROIL toiletries in the room. Food at the restaurant was great everyday as well as room service. Beautiful beaches and extra beach shoes provided as well as towels Only complaint is that the gift shop is more expensive than expected.

The hotel itself is beautiful and sophisticated, with every amenity one could need for a comfortable stay. The staff are warm and accommodating, adding to the welcoming atmosphere. Be aware that the drive up is on an unpaved road with quite a few potholes, so plan accordingly. It does not have the large touristic vibe of the other hotels on the beach in this area.
The dining experience was great—food was delicious and thoughtfully prepared, though on the pricier side. One thing to note is that this hotel seems to be a popular spot for honeymooners, which adds a romantic vibe to the ambiance.
My only real critique is the cost of in-room extras. For instance, a medium-sized bottle of Fiji water was priced at $18, and each Nespresso pod came in at $4, which felt excessive.
Overall, this is a lovely place to stay with exceptional service, but be prepared for premium pricing on in-room items.

We stayed for 2 weeks and have to say everything about this hotel is top draw. The staff are incredible - can't shout out everyone but from Joel front of house to Carlos the Service Manager to Pepe around the pool / beach area the staff were truly amazing! They remember your names and everything is very personalized. Breakfasts are consistently high quality and the lunch/evening menus are sufficiently varied. The filet mignon was SO delicious we asked for it two nights later and they specially prepared it - it was as good as the first time! Prices are at the top end, but having spent 2 weeks prior to this stay near Tulum you basically get what you pay for (as is always the case). Would we go again? Definitely. Would we go for 2 weeks? No. We'd go for a week because this place (with each room essentially in the jungle) is SO relaxing you start to want a bit more activity after a while. We did use the gym and there is also sauna / wellness facilities on hand. Overall an extremely nice experience and highly recommended!

We had an amazing stay at the Viceroy Riviera Maya. It is truly a private oasis in easily accessible Riviera Maya. We enjoyed it so much that we decided to stay at the resort for almost the entire trip.
FOOD: Despite the small size of the resort, the food is incredible and varies with the different theme nights at the Coral Restaurant. So you can easily eat at the resort all week. Yes even the Italian night was delicious!
SERVICE: I have not experienced more attentive service at a resort. Any request was met with ease, speed and grace. Each morning we were greeted by Rodrigo's cheerfulness at breakfast. The service at the pool/beach was particularly legendary. William, Jose and Pepe made every day great with cool towels, water, fresh fruit, sun glasses cleaning and cocktails.
ROOM: The room was a perfect mix of feeling both remote and luxurious with thatch roofs, streaming Internet TV's, fully stocked minibar and luxury baths.
The only minor concern we had was the Internet service in our villa was spotty with frequent disconnections.
Definitely highly recommended for a couples getaway!

Arriving at the resort, we got out of our SUV from the airport and were greeted by the staff, in this open area, cool breeze and shade from trees. We were given a local drink, I forgot what fruit was the base of the drink. The concept of being in a remote area was great so far. After checking-in they walked us to our room, it was like walking through a forest, we hoped it wouldn’t take us long to remember our way around the resort. Our room was just as we expected from reviewing the pictures on their site. My wife like the Lemon Grass soap that was hand cut for us when we first arrived to our room. That first night I found that there was one problem with the resort. The concept of being in a forest was tramped, as I heard loud music from the resort that was adjacent to the Viceroy. I would hear that noise every night, although I eventually just relaxed since I knew I would only be there for 7 days. Over the next few days, I notice that if we stayed out on are patio, we seemed to be next to some type of generator (it could have been something else). The concept of being in some jungle/forest was tromped by the resort being in too small of an area and too close to other resorts. Our room (#18 - Royal Villa with Private Plunge Pool and Deck) like many other rooms has only a rope as a deterrent to others entering our deck/patio area. Our bedroom and bath have these large doors, and you have to pull on one side to bring the doors together, to lock your rooms. I later found out that there are some rooms that have doors, the staff seem to indicate that those room are costlier, but I never tried to find out more details. My concern was that this was not mentioned, and perhaps I would have paid more or picked another resort. OK, the patio is, with the private pool, the Hammock, the beach chairs, and the outside bed couch was very nice, even if only protected by a rope. We also loved the outdoor shower. We enjoyed the breakfast at the Coral restaurant. It was great, with the view and breeze of the Caribbean Sea. Victor and others in the staff took good care of us every morning. A special thanks Arnesto (butler service) for his thoughtfulness, intelligence and patience for working through an issue with our trip to Cozumel, and any other issue we gave to him. It’s unfortunate that the lack of real estate kills the concept of remoteness, due to unwanted noise.

I stayed 4 nights at the property for a business trip and I can't wait to come back with my wife for a romantic getaway. The hotel is a true gem in the middle of the jungle. My private villa was huge and I particularly loved my private pool, the outdoor shower and the tatched roof in the room. When I arrived my personal butler escorted me to the villa and offered me a delicious mezcal and two pieces of handmade soaps that smelled so good. The hotel is surrounded by nature and, everyday, while walking to the restaurant, I had the fortune to see either a turtle, or a spider monkey and even an agouti. The food at La Marea is just delicious and the staff is so attentive that I really felt at home since day one. I loved my stay at the Viceroy Riviera Maya and can't wait to come back.

Exactly what a luxury boutique experience should be. With only 40 rooms, this intimate resort delivers a level of personalized attention that larger properties simply can't match. Our spacious villa exceeded all expectations, offering the perfect blend of luxury and privacy. The thoughtful layout and design made it feel like our own personal sanctuary within the gorgeous resort grounds.
The food was fantastic. Special mention must go to Carlos and Victor, whose outstanding service at the Coral restaurant elevated each dining experience to truly memorable. Their attention to detail (like our wine preferences) and genuine warmth made every meal feel special. Like I said, the service exceeded all expectations.
With just 40 rooms, the property maintains an exclusive, intimate atmosphere that made us feel like valued guests rather than just another room number.
My wife and I spent 7 nights here and I can honestly say we're already dreaming of our return. If you're looking for a perfect blend of luxury, privacy, and personalized service in a boutique setting, you can't go wrong. This is Mexican hospitality at its finest.

Excellent customer service with relaxing atmosphere. Overall great experience. The food was as expected however the service at all touch points exceeded expectations. Our spa experience was heavenly and we consider ourselves spa aficionados ☺️. Noise pollution from the adjacent properties was unfortunately distracting at times, especially on the weekend. But the villas are sound proof and it was not an issue inside.
We barely used the room pool as it was cold, lacked sun and was hard to keep clean. A daily pool cleaning and ability to control pool temp from room would be nice. Also, room AC fan made a horrible noice that maintenance was unable to resolve. But the room was nicely furnished and the bed was comfortable.
Of note, Airport was a chaotic experience. Recommend a private transfer and plenty of patience.

The Viceroy Riviera Maya exceeded my expectations, and we had the best time ever! We stayed here in February of 2023 for our honeymoon. Everything from the plunge pool in the room to the friendly staff and superb food was amazing. Admittedly, I was a bit apprehensive after I booked and saw the reviews about the rocky beach, but to those who really want to go swimming in the ocean while here, you don't have to worry at all. The resort is located on Xcalacoco Beach. Just google-image search will show you how pretty it is. The resort itself does face the rocky part, but all you have to do is walk about 200 feet to the right once on the beach, and it is sandy and so refreshing. The beautiful cabanas for resort guests were so comfortable. The rooms were extremely roomy and the restaraunts gave us the best food of our lives. We had such a great experience that I cried when we had to leave. I would highly recommend this to anyone planning a visit. Definitely keep in mind that there are no family-oriented activities, here, though, and you have to be 12 years old or older to vacation here.

Just returned from a 10 night all inclusive holiday where there were 6 of us in our party, 4 adults, and 2 kids. The hotel was amazing. The rooms are lovely and the place is beautiful and the settings are great. The food was outstanding, and the different flavours were incredible. Lunch time mini burgers were the best I've ever tasted. Great theme night's and everything we tried was fabulous. Breakfast was fantastic as well. I could go on and on about the food it was so good.
The drinks options on the all inclusive was brilliant and branded products such as Grey Goose vodka, etc. So we were very happy.
The staff in the coral restaurants were brilliant especially Carlos Cime Fabian at Corel restaurant made our stay very special also Carla Pepe Mario Rodrigo. Jose who cleaned our glasses every day was so nice my boys took a shine to him and made sure he was mentioned as well.
Negative - minor things really but for the price you pay for this hotel these things shouldn't happen. We had reservations of an evening and our table for 6 wasn't ready nearly every night. The staff in the upstairs restaurant weren't as good as the corel restaurant they didn't do anything wrong as such but just not the same vibe/energy. Little things like someone spilt chocolate sauce on the floor in the evening and was still there at breakfast which should have been cleaned straight away. Minor things but the cost of this place these little details should be sorted. Other thing was we seen they do a mayan ritual when you arrive. We arrived late so understood we wouldn't get that but think they could have done this the following day so we never missed out on that experience.
We booked trips via the hotel so they have a lady that comes to the hotel to book and sort it. BE CAREFUL as we were over charged twice as when we asked she claimed its the interest rate. She quotes it in Dollars then we paid in Mexican money. I think she converts it from dollars to Mexican money so we paid around £150 more than we should have so wasn't happy at all with this as I think this is a way of her making more money which is out of order. Wouldn't book with her again.
Overall the holiday was amazing and I would definitely go back here.
