The Viceroy Hotel is hands down the best resort in the area. From the unique villas all the way to the beach, this hotel’s staff pays attention to every detail, every time! When you book this hotel you are booking amazing food, a truly private jungle villa, and service that will make you feel welcome the moment you arrive. If you plan on eating exclusively at the hotel, upgrade to the appropriately named Mayan indulgence package! The rooms were cleaned multiple times per day. Our clothes were folded, chargers and electronics neatly wrapped/put away, soaps were refilled and toiletries organized. I never once saw our room being cleaned! Pepé was our server for lunch every day and did an exceptional job. We felt pampered by the pool, but definitely recommend using the hanging day beds on the beach to get breakfast or lunch. No matter where we were, he was very attentive. The breakfast menu is large and ranges from healthy/light to rich/decadent. The avocado toast, fresh fruit salad, French toast, green juice, and rancheros were all prepared consistently well. The lunch menu is thoughtful, light, and fresh. This is a smaller menu that incorporates a lot of fresh seafood and citrus flavors. The bar menu also has flat bread pizzas, fries, and other foods for picky eaters. All cocktails were great. Make sure you try the cocktail of the day. The dinner menu was smaller due to COVID restrictions, but everything on the dinner menu was delicious. Grill night featured fresh chorizo, steak, chicken, octopus, shrimp, and more. Although the menu was small, there was never a lack of variety. Our waiter, Miguel, did an amazing job every night. He had great knowledge of the menu and set up multiple off-menu dishes for me and my fiancé. If you stay at this resort for a week, you will be able to have something new and fresh to eat every day. On our last night, the resort surprised us with a romantic dinner on the beach! This was a great way to cap off a perfect stay. We will definitely return soon! Thanks for a great trip.

Hotel's Favorite
I just returned from Viceroy Riviera Maya and had the most wonderful time. I consider myself very well-traveled, but I have never experienced the level of service and attention to detail as I did during my stay. The staff was incredible—they all addressed us by our last name, they adjusted our umbrella as the sun moved, ensured we left nothing in the taxi using a flashlight to review the seats, changed our napkins based on the color of our clothes, etc., etc. We also enjoyed the delicious Mayan cuisine and incredible spa. One thing I would like to highlight is that every guest I spoke with was a return visitor. For some, it was their second visit, but for many others, it was their fourth or fifth visit. That is a testament to the uniqueness of the property, personalized service, and amazing accommodations.

Wow! Beautiful, Amazing, Blown Away! This is going to a lengthy review but PLEASE, PLEASE it is worth the read! There was no other way to appropriately do this. My husband and I have been discussing for two days how to write this incredibly important and yet difficult review. Important because everyone should be given the opportunity to truly hear about this amazing paradise. Difficult because words are just not enough. Unfortunately Covid-19 has not gone away but make no mistake this resort is 110% doing everything the right way! We never, ever, felt unsafe or concerned! We spent 6 days and 5 nights at one of the two Seaside Beachfront Villas. The room was absolutely amazing. The most comfortable bed and pillows I think we have ever slept on at a resort or hotel. The outdoor shower is even more incredible than it looks or is described! Air conditioning was more than enough, so cooling off from the Riviera heat is no problem! There is a great Bose radio in the room with plenty of volume and Bluetooth capable for your own tunes. The private villa pool and outside lounge area were our most favorite place to relax. Sounds of the ocean as you lay in your hammock and when the heat is too much just step right into your private pool or get into the shade in your two person chaise lounge. Palm trees in your private yard and magnificent views of the ocean are to die for. Awake to the most perfect sunrises on the planet! Now maybe the absolute best part, the staff! We were married at the resort so our interaction began weeks before our arrival. Laura coordinated everything in advance for us, making the wedding seamless, stress free and more beautiful than we could have imagined. I know, getting married in Mexico sounds like it may be challenging but rest assured with Laura it was easier than we could have ever imagined. Every detail was taken care and no request was out of the question. Laura continued to assist and stay in constant communication throughout our stay. Johnathan assisted in the beginning with private butler services and also did a great job, so professional! Then there was Pepe! Pepe was our day service waiter. I can tell without exaggeration we almost cried when our last day with him finally came. Simply the best! Pepe was always there, if it was drinks, lunch, coordinating with other resort staff for something you needed Pepe made it happen. Even though he was always wearing a mask, you always knew Pepe was smiling and excited to be able to serve you. He was for sure our most Amazing experience and memory from this resort. Pepe my friend we have no words to tell you how grateful we were to be able to meet you and spend our week with you. You will be in our hearts forever! Truly the best! Upon arrival you may meet Geancarlo who will guide you through your initial Mayan cultural experience upon arrival. He is also the Spa manager. On our third day we booked a Spa service with Geancarlo and his staff, Xamen-ek or “the love ritual”, highly recommended! We had no idea what an indescribable experience this would turn into. Starting with the jetted shower, followed by the steam room, exfoliation experiences for both. Then on to the jacuzzi with water and tea to drink. You then select herbs that are steamed near your face during you message to enhance the experience. You step out so relaxed and ready for your 80 minute message. The massage was unlike any other we have ever experienced. Then into a hot bath in a carved out tub also enhanced with herbs. The staff then bring you a bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries. The experience and service Geancarlo and his staff provided was just phenomenal and handled with such care. In fact the experience was so above and beyond we booked again two days later on our wedding day! Once again an out of this world experience. We thank you and were so great full for your services, or bodies and minds were also, Lol! Next up the wonderful Pablo. Pablo will make your snorkeling, parasailing or water sport dreams come true! Pablo turned us on to the best snorkeling experience we’ve ever had. The guide he sent us with was personable and very knowledgeable of the area and knew where to find the most beautiful sea creatures and fish! We also indulged in the parasailing! Great time and just one more great experience! Thank for all your hard work and hospitality Pablo, you will also be an amazing memory from our stay. Every morning we would go to breakfast and on several occasions we were lucky enough to be served by Bitia. What an amazing personality and great waitress. Her knowledge of what we wanted was impeccable and she was always happy to serve and make sure our experience was amazing. Bitia also turned us on to Mezcal tasting hosted by none other than Bitia! Her knowledge of Mezcal and its origins and history made the experience just one more staple of our stay. We absolutely cannot go without mentioning Miguel! Miguel is the keeper of the pool and towel service for the beach lounge areas. I rarely saw Miguel not in a dead sprint to make sure a guest had towels or an impeccably clean area to start their lounging. Miguel also provides cold, and I mean cold, aromatherapy infused towels to help cool you down when the Riviera heat starts to become a little much. Miguel also provides sunglasses cleaning to all guests, and let me tell you what a difference his touch makes! Miguel, you have an incredible work ethic and maybe the biggest smile of anyone, under the mask of course! One last story that I want to end with that just blew us away and has to be told. Not trying to be partial in anyway but this one goes to my friend Pepe. Pepe works six days a week, Friday being his day off. Unfortunately it fell on our wedding day so we were disappointed we would not be able to share our day with him. That Friday morning we went to breakfast and decided to come back to the room for a few late morning cocktails before our second epic message experience. I walked out of our room and started across the pool area and was greeted almost immediately by a mildly frantic member of the wait staff. He said “I am so sorry! Please return to your villa and I will bring your drinks”. Blown away yet again by this service I never even thought to say what our order was, being so used to Pepe always knowing. Only moments later the server arrived with the exact order, not one flawed detail. The next day Pepe greeted us at our pool area for the usual morning beverages and immediately asked, “Did everything come perfectly yesterday morning?” We said yes of course. At that moment we discovered Pepe ensured the staff knew exactly what to bring and when through an early morning conversation Pepe had during his day off. It gets me a little choked up attempting to describe the personal service Pepe provided us day after day and the selfless actions he made on his only day off to ensure we were always taken care of. Again you will be in hearts forever Pepe, see you soon my friend! So in conclusion, words really don’t do nor can do this review much justice! There is no way to put on paper this experience! Getting married or even anniversaries are experiences that we keep for a lifetime between us and the ones we hold dearest. Well we certainly got that, except we got a whole lot more when we found the Viceroy with Laura, Pepe, Geancarlo, Pablo, Johnathan, Bitia and Miguel. The rest of the staff at the Viceroy are second to none and also made the experience incredible. We thank you all immensely, we love you with all our hearts and we are already looking for dates for the next trip back! Thank you for the lifetime of moments and the amazing experiences!

The property is beautiful - the rooms and the pool area especially. The food and service was excellent. By the end of our stay, the staff knew us well and anticipated our requests; everyone was great and highly professional. It's an ideal resort for a romantic getaway. The beach is beautiful but very rocky in the water so bring water shoes or take advantage of the ones provided at the property. Areas that could be better: there were A LOT of vendors constantly walking by and harassing guests at the beach. Also, it would be nice to offer guests free sunscreen as well. Overall it was a great experience -- we would definitely come back!

What a wonderful four days we will never forget. Every single encounter we had with the lovely people who work here was perfection. So kind and pleasant and wanting to make our experience special. The room is even prettier than the pictures and the completely private outdoor space was the most wonderful indulgence I could imagine. Very clean. Thank you very much to everyone!
