Beautiful small hotel with 15 rooms and lovely garden. The roof top pool had a wonderful view of Playa. The hotel staff is wonderful and can help you out with tips about local restaurants and tours. There is no restaurant onsite but you are within walking distance to everything. They are also affiliated with Yucatek Divers which is just around... More

An amazing place. I stayed here for a couple of nights to do some cavern diving. It was my first time in Mexico. The staff here were so friendly and helpful. When I'd checked out, I forgot my camera. The staff found it and kept it for me until I returned a week later to collect it.

A couple of years ago, a group of us came down for a dive trip, and we all stayed here. The staff was friendly and attentive from beginning to end, and the accommodations were second to none - the rooms were very clean, spacious, and DID have a/c. One of the coolest parts about it is when you wake up... More

Very reasonable, clean, convienent, lush gardens. The staff is etremely friendly and helpful. Away from the hustle and bustle of 5 Ave. nice pool to dip in on the roof. Close to alot of night spots but quiet. We always stay here before heading south and away from the hoards of people.

Once again I have returned to Casa de Gopala for some R and R. As usual I was not disappointed. Big Thankyou to all the staff that always go out of there way to make my stay so perfect. I never want for anything and if I do all I have to do is ask. Owners Larry and Jean-Yves are... More

We are scuba divers and found this place perfect for being near the dive shop. We could hang our gear to dry, take a land day and return to pickup our gear. There is no hot water dispenser but a fridge. Coffee shops abound though and my husband could find coffee to bring back from 7 am very close. Do... More

This hotel is a bit difficult to find even though it is located a short distance off 5th Avenue. When you walk in the courtyard it is stunning, you would never know you're in downtown Playa. Good shops located close to hotel, food, beverages, diving and drinks. The staff are quite uptight and can be a bit difficult to deal... More

Very good for those on a tight budget. POSITIVES: Nightly rate for spacious king room is about $60+tax. Clean with AC, free speedy wifi, room safe, mini fridge, plenty of 3 prong electrical outlets in the room, very small flat screen TV with maybe one or two English channels and nice helpful staff. Great location close to good restaurants, shopping,... More

I stayed 6 nights at this hotel and had a good experience. Its nothing fancy, but the price is great, the staff is very friendly and accommodating, and its an excellent location. Its a block away from 5th ave, but still quiet. There isn't much hot water to speak of, and the jacuzzi advertised does not work. Everything is kept... More

My son, who has been traveling around Mexico for a few months, found this hotel for a friend of mine and I. Ok, it's not the Marriott or hilton. But it's very clean, the help is wonderful and we only paid 75 a night. They have huge water bottles on each for to fill up water jugs which is great.... More
