Wonderful Vacation. Spent 7 nights at Secrets Moxche July 23, 2023 and then moved to Secrets Impressions Moxche for 4 additional nights. The entrance is stunning with a waterfall and check-in was quick. The interior and exterior design are flawless, modern and appealing. Room. We opted for a preferred upgrade with Ocean View room in building 3 floor 8 at Moxche. We LOVED this room and it’s location. The entire resort smells amazing and is extremely clean. Staff are constantly tending to the beautifully manicured grounds. They work so very hard. The trees, flowers and plants are impeccable. Everything is high quality at this resort. We loved building 3 as it is center of the resort and floor 8 is just below the roof top pool. The room is large and the air conditioner worked well (with the exception of 2 days in which it was broken in the entire resort). The amazing ocean view from the bed, the balcony and also the large shower was phenomenal !!!!!! Our maids kept the room super clean visiting twice per day, probably the cleanest and most constant maid service I have experienced in 30+ vacations. The balcony tub and couch were fantastic to read a book. The balcony was big enough to do my morning yoga at sunrise. The sheets, pillows and mattress were the most comfortable I have ever had at a resort. I actually loved the sheets and pillows. Pillows were a variety of thick and squishy. The preferred room had plastic bottled waters, sodas, wine, beer, pringles and peanut M&M’s. (Tip: take your plastic bottles to the gym to refill with water as the resort is saving on plastic waist.) Preferred Observatory RoofTop area. The preferred roof top pool and restaurant were a fantastic benefit if you can splurge. The breakfast and lunch dishes were all so yummy. There were always bali beds open and plentiful. Loungers with umbrellas are available as well. It was never crowded. The staff on the Observatory were all top notch. Diana, Leandro, Hugo, Yesina, Angel, were wonderful. We loved all the breakfast and lunch dishes. At lunch the burger, tacos, salmon, guacamole, brownie and cheesecake were tasty. The breakfast french toast, enchiladas, quesabirria, tortilla casserole, pastries, (hashbrowns here were better than buffet, crispy and fresh) and fruits. The bathrooms there were the prettiest I have ever seen, check them out. The rooftop pool was cooler than the ground floor pools. The view is beautiful morning, noon and night. Spa. The spa was calming. We had a couples 80 minute massage and our therapists did a great job. We were able to upgrade by applying our complimentary 25 minute benefit from preferred, and paying the difference. We visited hydrotherapy circuit 2 times in our 12 day stay, once with the 80 minute massage and once with our Impressions complimentary visit. There is a steam room and sauna in the circuit as well. Amenities in the spa were plentiful and the spa showers were a must do. They are outdoors. Gym. We visited the gym daily and Dorian and Michelle were helpful. The gym is kept very, very clean and stocked with plenty of supplies. I taught group fitness classes daily there in a separate room. The yoga classes are wonderful also. You can refill bottles for water from the gym also! The gym as fruit and a great oatmeal raisin snack bar. (Yummy.) They clean this gym constantly. There are lots of mats, spin bikes with clips and free weights as well as ellipticals and treadmills. They have your basic weight machines as well. It was never too crowded. Yoga is usually at 8 am and 9 am and group fitness is usually at 10 am and 11 am with a traveling group fitness instructor. This is included so definitely take advantage of this. Coco Cafe has nice staff who make wonderful Smoothies! The pina colada smoothie was my favorite and my husband enjoyed the ice cream and cupcakes. They have tons of choices here of coffees, sandwiches, pasties, cookies, cupcakes, smoothies, milkshakes, candies and ice cream. Restaurants. The buffet was huge for breakfast and very delicious and Angel was a great waiter. The hostesses and the wait staff there were all quick, friendly and very efficient. I think Rebecca was especially sweet. The kiwi, oh my the KIWI! It was my favorite fruit there, try it. Crepes and Quesadilla were made fresh as well as Omelets and Avocado Toast. Live music was also at the buffet. SealSoul had the best view and is the prettiest restaurant at the beach. Eduardo was great there and they had Fish Tacos, Flank steak, smores and lemon pie. Dinner at Allora with Francisco was awesome, the lasagna and fettuccine were good as well as Ice Cream. Laura at Los Alamos was good with salmon and beef filet. All the salmon and sea bass dishes were fresh and prepared well. The New York Strip with mushrooms and wine sauce at Ember as well the Cheesecake, (real cheesecake!) were some of our favorite dishes. Suki had both great hibachi, a fantastic female chef, as well as al la carte dishes. We dined there twice to try both. We liked the ribs. Every dish was flavorsome and delectable. We had zero stomach issues in 13 days. (We always take probiotics before, during and after travels.) Barefoot Grill near the Moxche pools has ribs (very good), pizzas, burgers, fries, chips, guacamole, sweet corn on the cob (very good) and hot dogs. All the restaurants do a Vegan menu options as well and they also have many non alcoholic mock tail beverage options. Specialty drinks and fancy food options abound. Don’t be afraid to try new things. The waitstaff are careful to ask if you have good allergies at every single restaurant. No reservations are needed anywhere except for Hibachi dinner. Bamboo by the way is all Vegan now, we had the last day of the regular menu and enjoyed Chicken satay and dumplings. Activities. The Entertainment team work hard at both resorts to give you plenty of activities for those who like the be in the center of the action the pool closest to the ocean is where all the activities and live music are located. It is very pretty with tons of live music and daily activities, even specialty carts with drinks in pineapples. The swim up bar is like a big tree and was a great spot for those who like to hang in the pool by the bar and chat. The middle pool was quiet. The lagoon pool with surrounding sand near Bamboo was large and mainly shallow with exception of the 10 foot depths. Be careful there. Lifeguards are there and do a great job keeping people safe. The room tablet has all the activities as well as spa information and room service options. The secret box is nice to get deliveries and to leave any dirty dishes. The Hyatt All Inclusive App is fantastic here. It has all the menus for each restaurant as well as all the activities. I appreciate here that the app was mostly all correct and that activities did start on the times and locations as listed on app and tablet. Pools. The pool options as mentioned previously are expansive. You can easily visit as many as you like in one day or hang out at one all day. As a skin cancer survivor I am thankful for the many options for shade around each and every pool. Plenty of umbrellas and beds. I also am a huge fan of cushioned beach loungers. Almost all the pool and beach loungers are extremely cushioned and very clean. Towels are in abundance here as well. The towel stations are located everywhere, almost around every turn and they are fully stocked and rolled nicely. There is no waiting for towels to come out daily and no towel limit, no towel card. The only thing that I wish is that guests were better here about placing their used towels in bins rather than leaving them on chairs for staff to clear. If guests were better about this staff would have less work and chairs would be free for others. The Roads through Mexico was one of our favorite events. Don’t skip this! The food was authentic and the entertainment was top notch. The dancers, singers and musicians as well as the food preparation staff all take great pride in their crafts. Don’t fill up on food before you attend. Definitely go hungry and don’t eat too much at the first stop as there is food and drink at 5 different stations. Save room to sample everything (sharing with a partner helps.) The pink fruit punch was sooooo good! The food was really good. They had tacos, burritos, quesabirria, pazole, mexican corn, sopes, flan, marquesita, lemonade, horchata, beef sandwiches, potatoes, sausage, fajitas, and much much more. The taco cart and the marquesita cart are out every evening near Coco Cafe and the spa area. They are also out in Roads through Mexico. The beef tacos are the best and the marquesitas taste like a crepe combined with a sugar ice cream cone. They are filled with your choice of fruit, chocolate sauce, peanut butter, nutella, caramel, etc. The are big and worth a try at least once. Beach. We walked the beach daily and you can travel 3 miles round trip on a walk until you can pass no further. There are constantly workers fighting in the ocean with boats, tractors and tools to remove both seaweed and rocks and well as tree roots. They do an excellent job of cleaning seaweed daily. The beach was very clean. We did not swim but we walked daily and enjoyed a beach palapa for reading. They are industrious and constant in their efforts of digging up huge rocks and using those rocks for beach decorations. The surplus of pool options well make up for any loss of ocean swimming. The sand is raked smoothly every single day and completely clean. There are more than 20 different seating options at the beach. There are lounger chairs, nests with loungers, palapas with chairs, bali begs, and couch bed options. Something for everyone and plenty of options to find sun or shade. We saw the staff moving chairs for arrange for people always throughout the day. Staff were also taking people out on kayaks. The seaweed barrier is expansive and they are doing an impressive job managing this. There was no seaweed smell and no seaweed while we were there. You can walk down the beach and find plenty of course. The sidewalks and pathways are a bit uneven but very visually pleasing. This are a bit unsteady for ladies in heels for evening dinners. I suggest wedges for women or hold on to your partners and tightly while walking. Dinner attire should be dresses for ladies and long pants for gentlemen. With such a quality resort I feel this is reasonable, fun and not to much of an expectation. The restaurants are air conditioned well so long pants aren’t so bad once you get there. Beach Massage. We had beach massages twice in 12 days and used Edy, Gris, and Irma they are a 15 minute walk, a half mile, to the left on the beach. Massages there are $40 per person for 70 minutes and they did a GREAT job. We enjoyed hearing the waves crash during this experience. I highly recommend the beach walk and the massage. WiFi was fairly good across the resort. Live music was constantly playing and there were plenty of activities for everyone interested in more lively activity time. They have the gypsy club which is like a real club. The night shows are usually around 9:45 and they work hard to put them together. They include shows like Circus, Quirky, Elements like and music show, and Fire show, etc. They had paddle board yoga at beach front main pool, water sports, pool volleyball, beach volleyball, kayaks, dance classes, bingo, dance lessons, spanish lessons and water cycling. Gonzalo and the entire Entertainment Team worked hard and were friendly and always creating a great guest experience. The push for the VIP/time share presentation was not our favorite part but you can easily avoid this and it is common across all the resorts. They do not hassle you here at all, they simply leave a note on your door each day at Impressions. You can politely decline. We did see a constant parade of people getting Impressions rooftop pool tours. Rooms have motion activated floor night lights for the bathrooms that were wonderful to help you find your way into and out of the bathroom. The rooms were decorated with modern clean decor. The closets are large and adequate with lights. The safe in in a drawer and functioned properly. The two sinks in each room were nice. We loved our ocean view and the various lighting options for the room ambiance were nice. Room was stocked with wines. The room had a ceiling fan which is necessary in tropical destinations. Rooms were super quiet inside and we heard zero outside noise while inside our room. The facilities are high quality in both materials, workmanship as well as in technology with little touches such as the automatic curtains and blinds. The blinds were nice for early morning sun. The entire staff go above and beyond to meet your every need and make your stay both memorable and extremely comfortable. We did see wedding parties and groups partying and having a great time. We heard brides talking about their amazing weddings there of parties of 60 to 80 people and their wedding guests were blown away. Weddings are held on the rooftop of Moxche. Moxche provides high quality, plush, relaxing vacation options with lots of activity options, constant entertainment options with talented high quality performers. The food was the highest quality that we have experienced and exceeded our expectations. We are thankful it is not a loud drunken party resort.…
