Hotel Xcaret Arte garners high marks for its pristine cleanliness and striking location, perfect for sightseeing and soaking in beautiful vistas. While some guests question the value, pointing to steep prices and unwelcome sales pitches, the resort's lavish amenities, such as diverse pools, rooftop bars, and inclusive park access, are often celebrated.
Accommodations are generally lauded for their comfort, though noise and service hiccups are noted. The hotel's lively, artistic ambiance, complete with cultural offerings and live music, contributes to its charm, despite occasional service inconsistencies.

Hotel's Favorite
Travelled as a couple Feb 6-13/23.
We have always been Sandals/Beaches people but this resort looked too good to pass up. This resort will not have the activities you find at a Sandals property- snorkeling, pool trivia, volleyball, corn hole etc but you will not be bored here. We were blown away by the level of service, the resort itself and all the parks we visited.
The airport shuttle is easy to find and took us about 1 & 1/4 hour to the resort and on the way back was 2 hours door to door to terminal 3.
We stayed 7 days in Artistas building to give us access to Mexico restaurants. For us, the extra was definitely worth it as Fuego and Las Cuevas were favorites. We had Lorena and Brenda as butlers and they were very good, professional and helped us a lot. They decorated our room for my husbands birthday and left some treats for us too. We will request them on our next trip for sure.
We mainly booked this resort for the included parks- we did Xenotes, Xavage, Xenses, Xplor Fuego and Xcaret. I will do this review as a hotel review and will do a separate review on our park adventures. Even without the parks, I believe we would not have been disappointed as the resort is out of this world. I did a lot of research before booking; YouTube, joined Facebook fan page etc, but the videos and pictures just do not do this resort justice.
Resort: The resort is so beautiful and organic- even sitting in the rooftop pools, you are overlooking other rooftops that are gardens. The attention to detail is amazing-every aspect is thoughtful and beautiful. The art, the scents, the people are above and beyond. All employees we interacted with were warm, friendly and very helpful. All signature or hand crafted cocktails are so very good- not mass produced- and beautifully presented every time.
I believe that we were very close to full capacity but at no time did it feel crowded at the pools, beach or restaurants.
We loved the fact that there is no saving loungers at the pool or beach. They have attendants who will get you a seat. There was never a time that we couldn’t find someplace to sit at any pools or the beach/lagoon.
The ocean was rough for most of our stay so we didn’t get in there but swam in the lagoon a lot.
Look for and use all the Xelfie spots - it’s fun to scroll through pictures on your room TV - we bought a 3 park package which included all the resort pictures.
Arrival day, we went to Fuego on Mexico side. Hugo was our waiter and he set the bar very high. He was so helpful explaining dishes and drinks- one of our favorite meals.
Day 2: Xenotes tour. Did Kibi Kibi for breakfast and although it was good we realized we prefer more traditional breakfast so we did Cayuco every other morning. Went to Las Cuevas for supper that night. Marco was our waiter and very nice. It’s a buffet with the meat that comes to your table on a skewer. It was very good.
Day 3: spent the morning touring the resort. Kayaked in the lagoon- very fun and has Xelfie spots. Had lunch at Artistas rooftop pool - excellent food all around. We found that this pool did not have a lot of shade so it wasn’t the best for for us.
We went to Xcaret park for a few hours in the afternoon. We did Kibi Kibi for supper and again realized it was just not to our taste.
Day 4: Xavage is an all day tour- back for supper. Went for a drink at the Tiki bar - Ivan makes wonderful Tiki drinks and is very friendly. Went to Tah-Xido for supper -Carlos was our server and very good and Enyermo was our chef and is hilarious. The food and drinks were delicious.
Day 5: Xenses in the morning and Xplor Fuego at night. Afternoon spent at the Artistas rooftop pool with lunch- again excellent food. Spent some time at the Disenio rooftop pool and I will have to say that I did prefer it because of the shade there. The attendants are so helpful and accommodating. The food at this rooftop is excellent as well. Went to the Espectacular show at Xcaret park that evening- it is a must see- very well done.
Found the speakeasy that night and went for drinks and of course tacos.
Day 6: Las Cuevas for Sunday brunch- it is worth all the hype. It is overwhelming at times but so magical and the food is of course delicious. Spent the day pool hopping until Super Bowl time.
Went to the vegan restaurant-Appapachio for supper with a friend and Daniel was wonderful explain all the delicious food and drinks.
I don’t think I could pick a favorite restaurant - the food was better than I expected. I do not have an adventurous palate and that may be why I didn’t like Kibi Kibi but all other options we tried were fantastic.
There is a lot of the resort we didn’t get to see since we spent so much time off doing tours. I feel that 7 days is not enough if you are doing a lot of tours. Oh well, I will just have to go back.
Shout outs for great service:
Lorena and Brenda our butlers
All housekeeping staff were friendly and efficient
Hugo at Fuego
Ivan at the Tiki bar
Enyermo and Carlos at Tah-Xido
Rachel server at the lagoon
Daniel at Appapachio
All the servers at Cayuco- went 6 mornings and service is top notch.
I have forgotten the names of the servers/attendants at the Artistas and Diseneo pools but they were all excellent.
I am sure I am missing something - it was truly wonderful and now is officially our favorite resort.

I only stayed 2 nights, and spend a few nights at the casa de la playa property as well for comparison. I thought the food/bar was just as good, the service and pools area also just as good/ enjoyable. We had a room in casa muscia, swim out. Room 4184. I recommend to avoid this room as placement next to the elevator you hear the constant beeping if trying to sleep in. Instead ask for 4198 or 4196 at the end of our hallway, great views and private and great location. If getting a swim out, you def need roll a dice as some rooms are just vastly superior in terms of privacy location than others. However having access to a pool from your room is pretty awesome and you can use it aftre the main pool closes. We did the Xenotes tour which was 845 am - 515PM. We dont enjoy just lying by the pool all day so worth it for us, but you are cramped in a car for a good 2.5 hrs portion of the trip. Please bring your own wetsuits and waters shoes otherwise its 40 dollars to buy one
Tip #1
This is a hotel that you need to plan prior to arrival in order to max out your enjoyment.
As soon as you book, email the hotel and make your reservations for all the restaurants and the tours. Even 2 months ahead of time, I couldn't get the reservations exactly as I wanted. It will be a big disappointment if you show up without reservations.
Tip #2
You do not need a reservation to sit at the bar of the restaurants for a drink. This is perfect for ENCANTO because you can go prior to dinner elsewhere, get drinks at the bar, watch the music shows at the bar. Encanto bar was also the ONLY bar in both resorts where the bartender could actually mix a cocktail like a Manhattan correctly. Much better drinks here than the speakeasy
Tip #3
By far the best restaurant is Taixido fusion. I live next door a top rate suishi restaurant and this place was ONPAR in comparison. The quality of the sashimi was very high grade, the cod was on the level of Nobu. You can order a bottle of saki here. Chino Poblano was a fun experience tasting menu but the food itself was 5/10 for flavors.
Tip #4
Best pool is the diseno pool. Pyramid was very quiet and very limited seating. Música was too loud.
Tip #5
You must go order the drinks directly with the bartender if you are picky about how your drinks are made and with what ingredients' otherwise your drinking sugar water,
Tip #6:
Im not sure if the hotel is being truthful but they state that the return trip to airport in their free shared transportation is 2.5 hour single way because they have to make "many stops" . We opted to get a taxi for 70 dollar, it was 50 mins.
Overall I had high expectations and the hotel delivered on them. I recommend this hotel 100% to travelers and as long as you show up with a plan, you will have a great time here.

This hotel is absolutely beautiful. Everything was sparkling clean. If your looking for a relaxing trip or a trip full of adventures or experiences, this is the hotel. There were four of us, two that like to relax, and two that wanted to do everything. For the two that wanted to do everything, we tried to squeeze in all the free parks the hotel offers. We only made it to 3 of the 7 parks. Staying at the hotel gets you free transportation to the parks and back entrance entry to the parks. This was awesome as some of the lines to get into the parks were incredibly long, but with back entrance, we got in right away. For the two that wanted to relax, the hotel offers special classes at each of the CASA's. My wife and daughter attend the arts classes at CASA Artista and did paintings and pottery. The weaving class wasn't open when we were there. They also relaxed at the infinity pool, one of several pools in the property. The food at the hotel was also very good. The buffet was spectacular, and they made sure you sanitized your hands every time you went up. We also had reservations at three of the restaurants. Our favorite by far was Cayuco. Our room was very clean and was on the third floor, same as all the restaurants, so no stairs for us! We had a river view room that overlooked the main stage, so we were able to watch the shows from our balcony. The hotel also provided free rapid antigen tests for our trip back to the US. They were quick and efficient. I have heard of nightmares if you test positive at this hotel, just take your precautions. We brought N95 mask for the airport and plane, and regular mask for use on the resort. Overall a absolutely wonderful place that caters to both adventurous types and relaxing types.

My family and i arrived on Sunday 8/15/2021, when we checked in were told we had side-by-side rooms that were not connected but we’re together by double doors as we arrived upstairs we noticed that the rooms with our adult children were indeed close by but not together like we were told we then called The concierge to let them know to which they apologized and said they no longer have this type of availability until Thursday which we check out on Friday I then requested an upgrade they said they were going to check availability and cost and they would get back to me well here we are Thursday and no one got back to me regarding that furthermore while in the rooms about to take a shower we noticed that the Shower rooms were not cleaned and there was a big ball of blonde hair and black hair on the wall and there was wrappers on the tile floor, I proceeded to request these be cleaned up for the following two days and nothing was done instead they argued with me that the rooms had been cleaned however the wad of hair continued on the shower wall. Finally on Tuesday after much complaining and Arguing they finally sent somebody at seven or eight at night while we were in the room to clean the shower. The young lady that came in, then forgot her cleaning supplies in our sink until the next day, somebody else came to pick up and took it, On Wednesday there was a hurricane alert and we had to stay in room order it was then when we realized our mini fridge had not been restocked and therefore we had no drinks in the room we called for drinks to which we were told that nothing could be done due to the alert, their was no rain no wind at this point I called four times the last time requesting for a supervisor he said almost nothing while he heard me complain and said OK someone will be there shortly it took two hours after that to receive refreshments. We had reservations at two of the hotel restaurants one was at Chino poblano the service was incredibly Slow, by the time we actually got the best part of the dinner our plates were removed from under our noses without even asking us if we had been done yet and rushed out of there due to closing time. We also had a reservation at tahxido food was good but the waitress got my sons orders incorrect when we asked her to fix it she said the kitchen was closed we asked about dessert she again said the kitchen was closed while she was delivering dessert to the table next to us. We also ate at the San Juan cafeteria to which we waited for Drinks about 10 to 20 minutes without assistance needless to say this has been the worst experience that we had at any hotel. The service there is super slow I requested for a waffle at the waffle station I waited five minutes for each person ahead of me (15min) to receive theirs when then the attendee dropped mine on the floor and gave me half of one he had on a plate the tire time I was waiting. I am so dissatisfied with the service and as excited as I was to get here to experience this so-called great hotel I am more so excited to leave this place I feel like crying over how terrible the service has been here. The parks have been great they can definitely improve their buffets though.
Very sad guest

They are definitely not ready and need lots of hospitality work. I guess everyone has their own review on how they see things but I was not impressed.
The welcome: when arriving there’s a lot of people waiting and welcoming you, then the concierge helps you to your CASA lobby to check in. They also explain to you the various parts of the hotel.
Food, we spent most of our time at el Mercado buffet, everything tasted so fresh and the decor was beautiful. We didn’t experience any other restaurants as by the time we got back to the room we were exhausted and we had eaten at the parks.
The room, when finally checked in we entered our swim up garden suite. The room is nicely decorated, also it is very up to date with technology. Everything is done they the Apple TV but I wasn’t able to mirror anything from my iPhone. Take the time to look around in your room so you can find the refrigerator with water and drinks. The snacks were not good at all. I like the hammock out in the balcony and at night it’s not as humid as during the day. There’s a lot of construction going on and we could see all the trucks driving by.
Check out is at 12 but you can still use the facilities until you leave. Your key deactivates at 12 so if u leave the room, you won’t be able to get back in. Late checkout available starting at 120USD and the latest is 3pm.
Conclusion: I would not stay here again, the hotel lacks attentiveness and it’s usually the little things that wow you and this place does not have the wow factor for the price. I like that they are trying to be eco friendly and it’s appreciated but even trying to get a bottle of water is a hassle. The shuttles and the buses used by the hotel are comfortable and the cleaning methods are above others in the Quíntano Roo state. I give this place another three years and they will get their standards up from what it is now. The hotel capacity was s only 50% and they can’t even give the attention to detail people would appreciate. Also they are supposed to reach you two weeks before by a concierge and that never happened. I reached out to them to reserve Xel-ha and they replied with a “wish list to fill”. Filled out and the return email came with a confirmation number and nothing else. To find out the morning of there are only two times going out and one time to come back. I wasn’t even told that my bus was picking us up at 9:20, I asked what if my reservation was on the 7:30 bus? I was told that if would have been considered a no show and a few would have incurred.
Hope others have a better experienced and maybe I can help with this review. Read the negative reviews also because I do agree with them. There’s lot of construction going on at this hotel which could be a turn off for some.

AVOID! ……Unless you enjoy high pressure sales pitches, employees who are lost in the behemoth labyrinth interconnecting resorts on hard uneven rock paths and bridges that move when walked on.
The staff is very friendly but devoid of information, maps or anything helpful other than their goal of getting you to sit for 90 minutes during your very short vacation when you tell them no it becomes an issue. Be ready to be treat as the problem to them all you want is food.
We were sold on this resort as a great place to find vegan food only every restaurant you go to you’re either told no it’s closed or they don’t have vegan options and you can just get a salad or insert tacos without the insects. Which is to be expect in most places UNLESS as we were told online, the hotel TV and the staff vegan is available everywhere.
First night we had flavorless pasta lacking sauce, an okay citrus salad and fries. All items missing salt or seasoning in general. Food found via room service because after two separate hour long lost walks with different staff members we never found all the vegan food that was suppose to be easily found and the entire selling point of the trip.
Please note I’m not Vegan, I’m allergic to dairy in the EPI pen carrying way so we only eat vegan for my safety. Nothing worse for me than to sold on vacation and told not to worry about food and day two it’s still are biggest concern, issue and another hour waiting for staff to give us a reservation somewhere safe.
Also note it’s COVID time and they’re doing buffets. What the actual …….
Expect the fist sales pitch at 7:30am call to your room to confirm breakfast and resort day planning and again no mention of a 90 minute sales pitch.
The rooms are okay, they have an earwig problem but other than that the complaints are merely function. I dislike no no sinks near the bathroom (two doors need to be opened to wash hands), the sink and tub are in the bedroom so be prepared to wake the room if you wash your hands in the middle of the night.
The swim up rooms face other rooms and public areas so privacy is an issue. They also have no bidets so I’m going to question the cleanliness of the lazy river that goes past your room after a day of guests laying in the same water.
There must be a sales free places to stay that has cleaner options.
The moment we arrived the woman mentioned we could upgrade, that should have been the warning but we were so tired and hungry our defenses were down.
Will update as we are only on day two. I’m going to try and go home as soon as possible….

Our stay at Xcaret Arte was everything we could've wanted and more. The service of the staff is second to none, and the included amenities are world class. We enjoyed our stay in Casa de los Artistas, which is the private tower of the hotel, with it's own restaurant and rooftop pool with a front row view of the amazing carribean turquoise waters. On our visit to the rooftop, we were attended to by Anayelli, and Araceli, and trust me when I say they go above and beyond to make sure you have everything you could need. They also surprised us with a sparkling wine cart, and special dessert to help make our celebration that much more special. We also had our own butler assigned for staying in this particular "Casa", and Jaime was on point, checking on us every morning to make sure all our needs were met. Our 1st night we had dinner at the Artistas exclusive restaurant Kibi-Kibi a Mediterranean/Mexican fusion with amazing food, and cocktails. We also found the resorts Speakeasy bar that has live jazz early in the evening, then turns to a DJ to turn up the party.
Don't hesitate to book your stay, and experience the hospitality and service Grupo Xcaret is known for. Even with their covid protocols, you felt very safe, as they are continuously cleaning, and sanitizing all common areas.

Let me start off by saying I love this place so much I’m committed to only going to Xcaret locations. I have spread the word to friends and plan on promoting and attending whenever possible. Why ? First and foremost it’s 100% Mexican owned. I believe if you are going to Mexico experience the real Mexico as much as possible and Support the community you are enjoying. I love they are committed to sustainability and I hope they continue to push this agenda in every facet of the business. We take and take from beautiful lands and it’s damaging to the people and the environment. If you are going to go as a foreigner be responsible and know how you affect the local land and its people. Second the service from individuals. I’m not talking about system issues because it is clear as a new location there are kinks that need to be ironed out mainly in communication and logistics. What is incredible is how each individual is so happy to service you and eager to help with what ever you need. Many remembered me by name or made me feel so welcomed.
Shout out to the following people
Dulce for being our hype woman at El Deseo
Jessica and Aremi for chatting with me and giving me a big smile every time I entered el Mercado
Luisa for going above and beyond to help my friend with her upset stomach by providing ingredients from the kitchen to make a concoction that helped right away!
Guadalupe the security for being so kind and respectful and friendly
Guadalupe that made bomb tacos and deals with drunk obnoxious people until 4 am every night !
Guillermo who was our chef. He hands down squashes any Benihana chef . His tricks and jokes kept us entertained the entire night
Elsa our go to person for bookings. She was super responsive and fixed issues right away
I can’t remember the name for the life of me but the lifeguard that drove under water 19 feet to save my phone . He found it in less than 5 min in the river . I was sure it was gone. He looked for it without hesitation.
There were so many other people I wish I could name as mentioned even though there were some issues here and there, i did not take away from the beautiful interactions I had with employees. Our Xoximilco guides were amazing and so fun !
Another part that can’t or shouldn’t bring anyone down is the views. Entering this place is a blessing. I love the preservation of the natural land and the architecture. Every little detail can delight you if you pay attention. There are so many activities from enjoying the waters, live bands, workshops, and eating delicious food.
I think it’s amazing that you can access all their parks for free and some tours are included as well. It’s a one stop shop and the experience and quality is consistent all around.
One suggestion is explaining more about what is there to offer and the process for certain things like check out. Perhaps they want you to explore more or save paper (sustainability) but I think much can be missed if it’s not written down somewhere for folks to review once they are there and some people just can’t handle uncertainty.
Again overall my experience was amazing because of the people, the land and all the details put into giving me delight every single day

In the past, my family stayed in XCaret (Mexico) hotel and purchased a Platinum membership in that luxury resort. With the opening of Xcaret Arte we decided to try this new “sister” resort, since XCaret platinum members had similar benefits for it, like room upgrade to an Ocean view and private transportation from airport to XCaret.
Unfortunately we experienced serious issues with airport transfer (ended paying $100 for a taxi) and a room upgrade. Thanks to Janet, one of the supervisors of member services in Xcaret Arte, we finally received a beautiful room in Design casa. Janet was super professional and client oriented. After that our experience with this new resort changed from 1 to 4. Prior to Design casa we had temporary rooms in Pyramids casa with a noisy bar downstairs and in remote Spa building with depressing view of the utility building.
The resort architecture and hotel rooms are very similar to Xcaret Mexico with some extras, like roof pools in most of the buildings and better beach. The COVID testing center was very convenient there. The guest services were consistently good in Arte.
The restaurant Mercado was our favorite for breakfasts and lunches. Variety and quality of food there was very impressive. We tried several other restaurants for dinners. A teppanyaki in Tax-Hido restaurant was very enjoyable. Grilled meat in Arenale restaurant is highly recommended. We did not like tasting menus in Encanta (sea food mainly) and Chino Poblano. For example, in Chino Poblano we were confused with a tiny portion of duck (main course) for 3 people; service there was too slow.
The advertisement and information for guests in Arte is next to none. So, it was a challenge at the beginning to find some restaurants, etc. An evening concert in the open theater of Arte was very short with only few spectators. We went to Xcaret Mexico for a dinner-show and it was exactly the same as three years ago - so sad. Hopefully, Xcaret will improve the entertainment there.
After this visit we had some doubts for purchasing Xcaret membership.

My husband and I stayed at Xcaret Arte for our honeymoon and all I can say is WOW!
We were immediately greeted by Irving (Guest Services Representative) he ensured our stay will be special & memorable. He gave us a tour of the resort and ensured that all our needs were being met. He helped us book for the adventure parks and reserve for the restaurants. He really helped with all the navigation of this massive resort. He was a huge help and we really appreciate all that he has done for our 10 day stay.
The food at this resort really marks the 5-diamond experience. My husband really enjoyed eating at Cayuco where they serve an abundance of seafood and all you can eat oysters for lunch.
The food is exceptional and really top notch. If you are a foodie and enjoy a good meal, your stay at xcaret arte will not disappoint.
We loved spending our days at the roof too pool on la casa del diseno. We were always well greeted & seated on relaxing lounge chairs. The waitresses would constantly come check on us to see if we required anything (drinks, snacks, towels … etc …). The waitresses even went the extra mile to prep a little fruit basket for my husband and I for our honeymoon & special drinks (very thoughtful!!). They played some nice music and the ambiance was fantastic!
Room was super spacious, well decorated, modern and clean! Room service was great- he/she would leave us fresh towels everyday with a little basket with Mexican goodies. We also got a honeymoon gift left on our table one afternoon!
The adventure parks were all amazing (we’ve been to 5!) we enjoyed every single moment. The parks are very well maintained, clean and well organized. The Xcaret brand does a wonderful job at offering their guests the best of the best- transportation is always on time, drivers are all super friendly and happy! The food at the parks is really well set up and tasty (considering that it is an outdoor buffet).
My husband and I already started planning our next trip back to Xcaret Arte & definitely bringing our friends along!

Hi, I would say it is very convenient to get off grounds because you can either may quick phone call from your room and arrange the destination. the 2nd option is go to your main lobby and they will arrange taxi for you pick up and drop off. FYI included in your stay you have access to the nine parks they own which your transfer to and from an included.
Hi, the list of restaurants can be viewed online but also once you book your reservation they will send you what is called an Experience form were you will fill out the slots for your park experiences including dinning options. I am travel agent if you need assistance let me know. I can assist you and provide more in depth details. Regarding fridge yes it is available in your stateroom.
Yes, actually recommend because they have discounted alcoholic bottles on property plus you can have it around you in the infinite pool area for example. FYI if you purchase bottle outside of the resort you can bring it in but you’ll only be allowed to consume in your room only. I hope this helps.
Unfortunately no bikes are available to ride around in the actual Xcaret Mexico or Xcaret Arte Resorts. If you happen to visit Xel-ha park they do have Bike Ride available.
Hello, workshops are by reservation. We have never attended any of them or reserved them. Most likely they would want you to be checked into the hotel first. Your concierge would provide that information to you.
