Place is beautiful, but if anyone is renting above you, or there is construction anywhere in a building, be ready to stay up all night, because of your neighbors and listen to banging Because of construction. The banging is insane. Any sane person would loose their mind. So much construction going on that you don’t even know. Then if your neighbors that are here on vacation as most units rented for Airbnb’s, you won’t even get a brake during the night. The stomping, the furniture moving it’s absolutely insane. Go stay somewhere else if you truly want a peaceful vacation. Unless you get super lucky.
Pros: Apartment was very spacious, quiet, clean, the views were beautiful, the pool was huge (but was undergoing some maintenance), the beach was very nice, loved that we had laundry facilities in our apartment. When the air conditioning broke someone came promptly to fix it. Patio was nicely furnished to have breakfast out there or to just sit in the sun. There weren’t the usual competitions for chairs on the beach or by the pool – very easy to get them. No extra cost for chairs on the beach. Drawbacks: We booked this resort through Expedia. It is advertised as a hotel condo resort. There were towels in the condo, but no other supplies. Since this booking was billed as a hotel, when we ran out of tp, we asked the front desk for more. They looked it up in a book and told us the contract they have with the booking entity doesn’t cover tp. So, we had to go to the store and buy tp. Many things you would expect (washcloths, dishcloths) were not in the condo. I checked both the hotel’s website and Expedia’s listing before we went to see what was provided but did not find any info. The check-in process was not smooth. The address and phone that Expedia provides is incorrect. I contacted the resort 3 days ahead for the entrance codes as directed by Expedia and was told by the hotel that they would send them one day before. We did not receive them a day before and were trying very hard to contact someone before our flight left to get the codes. They finally emailed them while we were on our flight there but would have been much less stressful to have them in hand before we left. We booked an oceanfront condo with the swim out pool. The one pane of glass (the stationary part, not the door part), was not attached all the way to the wall – there was about a ½ inch gap and this caused a very loud and constant howling noise unless we left the patio door cracked open. Overall, I think they have the potential to be a really great place to stay but there needs to be clearer information about what is/is not provided, provide more supplies in the condo, and better communication about check-in. Didn’t really feel like we got great value for the money we spent. When I was originally looking, there were some options at the same place available through Airbnb. I would recommend booking through Airbnb because they would be better set up for guests and offer better and more attentive service to assist with needs while you are there.…
Our experience at the hotel was unpleasant, the codes to access the department did not work but they managed to fix it, at the reception a person named maurice was looking at our boobs all the time, it was very disgusting, his partner was very friendly and smiling, no I remember his name, he helped us solve the problems we had, he recommended very beautiful places to visit, Yessika was very nice in all her attention. ❤️
Mareazul is a nice, higher-end resort, on the beach, with many units. Ours was 3+ bedrooms, good amenities, and a really nice environment. The pool is really 4 pools strung together, going down to the sea. The sea itself is clean, warm and inviting. Staff are attentive and careful; the whole place is really clean. The *entire* pool deck was being renewed while we were here, not a big deal, and it will be really nice when done in a few weeks (they are moving fast). Security is tight, and the exercise room/front office is highly responsive to even small emergencies, such as when you forget the combo to your room safe (ask me how I know!) Punto Azul, the onsite resturaunt, is more expensive than some of the downtown places, but very good. Rent a car to see Tulum and the cenotes, or you can use taxis. Don't drive in Playa if you don't have nerves of steel.…
Be VERY careful if you are renting from Mareazul company!!!! We stayed in one of the condos for few days and we could not stand it anymore. Yes the property is beautiful but the condo was terrible! Full of ants, worn out and dirty pans, water leak in the main bathroom. Zero customer service.
The apartment we stayed in was beautiful and so clean. The pool is stunning and the beach is very close, just past the pool and very beautiful too. All the staff working here, especially Jessica on the front desk reception area are so kind and helpful. The security is very thorough and we felt completely safe here. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because of the building work around us, which was noisy and spoiled the otherwise super relaxing holiday. I don't think it will be like that all the time so maybe just check before you book. Otherwise I definitely recommend this place for a holiday. Also just want to add, it's not near the main centre, you can't really walk to shops from here, you must order a taxi to go places. They do have a small shop on the premises near the reception area to buy essentials. …
We had been living here for 7 months. Our unit is first floor with mini private pool in building 5 North. I can’t even explain how nice it is here until the unit not even on top of us, but on third floor is rented how extremely loud it is, usually it’s rented for 5 plus people, they are on vacation go to sleep late, when they are moving furniture, dinning chairs it feels like it’s an earth quick. When they are walking praying till morning it’s a nightmare. I would only recommend this place to those that don’t have small kids nor pets and able to rent top floor. It’s absolutely awful. Security will do absolutely nothing to help with the sound either. We can’t even imagine what will happen ones they unit above is fixed and rented. We can’t wait to finish our lease and move to a house. We will miss this place but our health is more important. Now we are sleep deprived so are our little kids. By the way the beach has been awful since the beginning of May due to seaweed so you can’t even swim.…
We booked this 2 bed 3 bath room from 12/19/20 through 12/28/20. We were very pleased when we arrived. There are 2 gates to enter the resort. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful! The good rooms are HUGE and very clean, updated and modern. We had a full kitchen and a large deck with a hot tub. We had an issue with our stove and dishwasher , but as soon as we sent a message via WhatsApp , they sent repair people to fix it. They actually replaced the oven and the dishwasher , on Christmas Eve no less! The pools are clean and wonderful for the family. There is a private beach that was a 3 minute walk from our room. We were able to drive to city center ( 5th Avenue area) in less then 10 minutes. We were given a keyless entry to our room , which was nice not to have a key to worry about and no contact with COVID. We have come to Quintana Roo many times , and by far this was the best place we have stayed! There is a beach club right down the beach that does snorkeling and paddle boards, drinks and food. The on-site restaurant was great as well! I cannot say enough about how great our stay was here! I had read reviews that made me a little nervous , that is why I want to leave this one! Yes, there is some remodeling going on within the resort, it never affected our trip or our stay. We will certainly be back! The pictures you see when booking are very accurate- here are a few pictures of our view, the beach and from the deck. We were in building 4 Norte garden view. There is a little store in the lobby and service stations right out side the gate. Our unit did not have a washer and dryer - they did say some of them do however.…
The unit we rented was very nice and the complex well maintained. The pool area was very large and we never saw more than 5 people there. While there is a stretch of beach, there is a lot of seaweed. Taxis have to go through main gate which takes a while so add 10 minutes to the time you need them. Great location very close to downtown Playa.
what a disappointment, promised white sandy beaches and blue turquoise water, but we were instead faced with a beach full of rotten seaweed , could not even sit on the beach, it did stink like rotten egg. and water was full of the same seaweed, and nothing were being done. room ok, but did smell like sewage some days. Way to far out of town and crazy taxi prices.. check the forecast and webcams in the area because the staff and management does not inform the tourist about the conditions which supposedly have been like this for years..... go to cozumel if you really need mexico.. beaches there are great.
