Our large rooms were very nicely decorated and the central courtyard and giant tree that holds this place together, plus the murals!, were spectacular. Several interesting quiet little nooks. It seemed like it was going to be a quiet place to sleep, until the local bars started blasting out their tunes about 10 pm. And ran on until 4:30 am. Beds were fine and the restaurant in the front provided good food. Nice that the beach was very close, though it isn't much of a beach--very narrow. Unfortunately the noise reminded us that WE should have found out where the Hard Rock Cafe was before we booked, and chosen a place much farther away from this Loud Party part of town. (or even this part of Mexico). Noise level was fine during the day; horrible at night. So, on average, it was average, but none of us got a good nights sleep.…
Nice, clean, friendly, cost effective. Few minutes walk to 5th avenue, shops, beach and ferry. Very safe as a single traveller. Noisy bar down the road which I did hear til 5am when I woke in the night but it didnt stop me from sleeping Im just useless with the time difference
On a quiet street 1 block from 5th avenue and 2 blocks from the beach. there are two or 3 wonderful restaurants very near us..... a fun german restaurant and Romeos Italian. I recommend you book early and get a room inside the garden area if you want more quiet at night. there is a bar across the street that plays pretty loud music until about 2 am. The most front rooms hear most of it.. Bring some earplugs and know how to get them down in your ears so they work. Some rooms have air-conditioning and some do not. All rooms have ceiling fans and standing fans. The grounds are beautifully green and lush with a nice pool in the garden area. Most rooms have one double, or two beds, and a few....3 beds in them. There is a nice place to sit outside each room and enjoy the day. Love the manager, Niocle who has always been a wonderful resource for us and helps us get the rooms we want. Love this place and its people - wouldn't stay anywhere else when we are here. Price is right and we just love it here - its our Casa in Mexico. Girls trip every year here. Good restaurant at front of the hotel. Juan there is amazing too!…
Nice hotel that offers an escape from the touristic streets of Playa del Carmen. Room is comfortabel with a good ceiling fan and no ac. Staff is friendly and because it's a small place it feels very personal. The (not included) breakfast is really nice and should set you back no more than about 100 pesos.
I stayed here a year ago and enjoyed the place - this year not as much. We initially had a room at the front of the property. You could hear, loud and clear, the second storey bar a half block away until the wee hours. We asked for a change of room because of the noise. They were not that busy so were able to accomodate us. Both rooms were clean, had pretty good beds and linens. Bathrooms were also OK. The pool area in the courtyard used to get a lot of sun but there is a new "highrise" going up just to the west of the hotel. Last year it was only being started, this year it was several storeys high. The problem is the noise from the construction for most of the day and also the building blocks the sun in the pool area. Consequently, we found the pool quite cold - it just doesn't get a lot of sun to warm up. I think this is a good place but the bar noise and construction do create problems. The hotel was "reasonably" inexpensive but certainly not cheap. Good WIFI in the areas we stayed but not breakfast or snacks available. They have taken over the restaurant right at the front of the property and said it would be open shortly.…
