My sister and I travelled to this resort in October. It wasn’t very busy so they didn’t have all their staff on which brought the service level down a bit. We didn’t find the service staff as friendly as we usually do at the Riu’s. The Riu Yucatan next door had amazing service staff and we spent most of our...

The Hotel is definitely a 5 star. Stayed at other Riu's, lives up to it's quality. Rooms were very clean as well as the washrooms and public areas. The staff were great except the reception. We were told the beach would be closed for 2 days, right. It did open towards the end of our stay but there was constantly...

We went there with 4 couples for a week on January 29 to February 5. We had beautiful hot weather for the week with 2 rain showers at night. The hotel is beautiful with the staff working very hard to please you in every way. It was very clean and the food was over all very good. All the staff...

The resort is beautiful and the staff was great but the guests were a little snooty for our taste. We've stayed here and the Riu Playacar and my husband and I prefer the Iberostar hotels. Overall the rooms and the grounds are really well maintained and the food and drink are fabulous.

Excellent beach (nicest one in all the Riu hotels), great friendly staff who constantly are there to offer their services, extremely clean, very nice shows after dinner, delicious restaurants (all of them, including the buffet which was an excellent option even for dinner given it looked like any of the other restaurants) and 24 hour room service. If you are...

Traveled with my husband, mother and father. We have stayed at other Rius so we have something to compare. We thought we would upgrade to a "palace" this trip....Mabey we were expecting too much...First, don't get me wrong, we are not real fussy. The staff, as with the other Riu resorts are wonderful, everyone is mostly very friendly and helpful....

When we first walked through the doors, we were greeted with immediate friendliness, and people willing to help you, and not for a quick tip either. These people are soooo friendly and genuine that it makes every other place we have visited, sub standard in these qualities. The place is spotless in every way, so defo no complaints in that...

We have been to the Riu Palace at least 6 times over the last 8 years. We loved it because they had (and still have) a beautiful, wide beach with lots of palm trees for shade. We will not return. I still can't believe neither the hotel nor Expedia told us the BEACH WAS CLOSED when we made our last...
