This was the 2nd time at this resort. Once we went through all of the check in stuff and got to our room we received a call from the front desk asking if everything was ok. I asked if they would send someone to check our air conditioning and I was told that it was not working throughout the entire resort. A part on the chiller broke and since they could not find the part in Mexico, it was being shipped from the USA. It would be a couple of days before it was fixed....We arrived on 9/11 and on 9/18 when we checked out of the resort, we still did not have air conditioning. This would have been something they should have told us when we checked in instead of waiting for a complaint. I understand that the staff cannot fix the problem but they could have offered some sort of solution. When someone in the pool said that they just spent an hour and a half at the desk complaining they were offered 2 1 hour massages. This was ridiculous because there was no air conditioning in the spa. I would take a shower and couldn't even dry my hair because of the heat and humidity in the room. I would have to lay on the bed under the ceiling fan just to get some relief. The staff was amazing and worked their butts off and were suffering from the extreme heat also. It would have been nice to have been told about the air conditioning up front instead of trying to sign us up for a 90 minute session to try to get us to buy a timeshare. I do not think I will stay at Iberostar on my next trip to Playa Del Carmen and I will advise our friends traveling to Mexico to seek out a different resort. This is unfortunate since the resort itself is beautiful.

Ok, I’ll give you guys the pros and one giant con. I’ll start with this. The staff were amazing. Super friendly and fun and always a smile on. Everyone wore masks, polite and made this a great trip for us. Special shout out to Wendy the concierge and Indelecia the bartender at the adult bar that always met us with a smile and made awesome drinks. He was responsible as he even refused to serve an underage kid that snuck in. Good for you guys. The evening dinner shows got a bit corny for a few but overall super fun nonetheless. Bartender Raul at the theatre was exceptional… friendly and made us feel welcome while he was hustling and working his butt off. Took the time to talk to us and again made this trip better. If you go, Try to stay closer to beach and pool…. Unit 11 is great, easy walk to pool. The GIANT con…. No AC for the entire week!!!! Argh… that was deadly. That’s management fault and no AC was miserable at night coming home from a hot day at the pool. We woke up in a pool of sweat at times. Despite the wonderful staff, Next time we have to switch hotels if they spring us with the NO AC on us again when we arrive. Otherwise, hotel was clean, beautiful to walk around, food was fantastic for the amount they served. We’ll be back for sure provided they guarantee AC!!!! And bring tip money…. This staff works hard to keep the guests happy.

This is our 3rd time to the Iberostar Tucan… we love the pool, beach palapas, wildlife (monkeys, iguanas, agouiti, tucans) daily sightings, the staff & the food is very good. Unfortunately, the Whole resort has been without Air condition for the entire week we have been here. We were told it would be fixed during the week so we toughed it out… but that never happened. Daytimes were fine because we were at the beach all day but try to blow dry hair and get ready for dinner was unbearable. Sleeping was also difficult in the heat. When we checked out there was no apologies or compensation offered for no AC. We asked and finally received $69(our extra charges) off or seven day stay. And that was hard to get. Makes me sad that my barrel star is not treating their guess better. I have truly loved this resort however I’m not sure I’ll ever come back now.

Our Vacation stay at iberostar tucan was simply amazing. We have been members for 4 years and every year keeps getting better. The staff at the VIP Club are always helpful and ready to take care of our needs. The communication between the concierge staff and I via email was excellent. When we arrived everything we asked for including dinner reservations was on point. We were asked to try the new restaurant (Smokehouse) and it was delicious ! We will return!

Love the entertainment team, especially Angi :) The hotel is really nice - jungle, beach and pool! Very clean and pretty nice people! The restaurants are great and the meals are fine! Our vacation is really nice, we would come here again! :) even if it’s raining from time to time, you can enjoy the drinks in the pool bar!
