My wife and I have been Exotic Club members for 8+ years, but the recent trip was our first since the split with Karisma. The reservation was booked 16 months ago thru Karisma resulting in a lot of consternation leading up to the trip including multiple calls, texts and emails from Karisma on the need to pay them when we had already paid Exotic directly. I could go on about other factors related to customer service prior to the trip, but I will refrain from sharing more details As for the actual trip, the Lomas transportation experience from the airport was excellent as we didn't have to wait for the vehicle like we normally do. I would highly recommend using Lomas especially if you have never dealt with the transportation options at the Cancun Airport. We stayed in a Presidential room primarily for the extra space in the room and in the private pool. Keep in mind these rooms stay booked. Each time we have stayed in one we had to book over a year in advance. Silva (David) and Alvaro were our butlers and did a very good job for the entire week. Alvaro is one of the best ones. Claudio also supported one night, and he was very responsive as well. It did seem that the workload on the butlers had increased, but the overall butler service was fine as we aren’t too needy. The bar service from the section 31 staff was very good as well. The food across the board was good. No drop off in quality for room service, the restaurants or the lunch options available within the Casita sections. Our only complaint regarding the bar service is that some standard American brands like Crown Royal and Woodford Reserve are not available at the resort and haven't been since 2020. Despite being a member, we couldn't make dining reservations in advance of the visit, and this is a negative. We were told that the resort is working to improve their customer service and their website that has suffered since the split with Karisma. Time will tell if this improves. Overall, we plan to go back and are optimistic the booking process leading up to the actual visit improves.

Hotel's Favorite
We just returned from a four night adult only stay with 4 couples to celebrate my 50th birthday. I was a little worried going in by some of the bad reviews but I have to say that this place was fantastic. The casita room was large and had a view of the ocean. It had an outdoor shower and that may have been one of my favorite things about this trip. All of the food was fantastic. I've been to at least 7 other all inclusive resorts(including secrets) and this was by far the best food. All 8 people in our group felt the same way about the food, and one of them is a chef. If you complain about the food, then I think you are just a natural complainer. All of the staff was fantastic! Everyone was very friendly and provided great service. We rented two of the "cabanas" at the main pool for two of the days we were there. Worth every penny. We had Luis as our waiter both days and he was fantastic. Brought us drinks and food all day and very attentive. The beach is not swimmable, but if you do your research you should know that going in. Yes, the resort is large, but the walk from the casitas to the main pool/breakfast is such a beautiful walk along the ocean that I don't know how you can complain about that. We were one of the furthest casitas from the main pool and it was roughly a 10 minute walk. A few more golf carts running would be nice to transfer people around the resort. It seemed like people were always waiting for a golf cart. My only complaint is the restaurant reservation system. There must be a better way! The "concierge" is only there until 3 pm to make reservations. We arrived too late on a Friday to make reservations but were able to walk up to eat at Kampai. They seated 8 of us easily at 6:00 pm. When we tried to make dinner reservations on Saturday for the rest of the trip she said the system "resets" on Sunday and we would have to come back on Sunday to make the rest of the reservations. This makes no sense to me and was a hassle. It is also time consuming to wait if there is a line to make a reservation. It is a very antiquated system that needs to be modernized. You should be able to make a reservation on the app. I do think there should be a map on the app as well since the resort is so large. If there is, I couldn't find it. I had to carry my paper map with me. I also don't know why they can't seat more than 6 people at a table. Our group had to split up into tables of 4 to eat. Other than those minor issues, I was very happy. I would not hesitate to return!

Upon our arrival, Concierge’s Gustavo and Jessie did a great job getting the room set-up right. Jessie also was very helpful on several fronts during our stay and we really appreciated her efforts. We were delighted to learn that our butlers for the stay would be Hugo and Miriam. We have had Hugo many times over the years and especially enjoy his assistance and support. Naturally we got to see Karen a number of times throughout our visit. She is such a special person, almost like part of our family. Miss Vicky prepared several very, very great lunches at 32 Grill during our stay. Marcos took very good care of us at Kampai. Felipe greeted us warmly at breakfast at Palms and was a great and attentive server. Waiters; Octavio at Wine Kitchen, Samy at Kick, Jesus at D’Italia Villas and Jario at D’Italia Casitas all served great meals and were wonderful to visit with. Finally, Nancy at Naay Spa knocked it out of the park with massages so good that I had to go back a couple of times. Once again, our trip was incredible. The Property is always so well maintained and beautiful. The staff many of which we have come to know well over the years, go to great lengths to make sure the stay is memorable and finally being able to catch-up with friends is icing on the top. I can’t think of a better place to visit.

This experience started with a very relaxing trip from the airport. Our driver was personable and informative. Check in for our stay in the Presidential Casitas was made easier with the help of Gustavo and Jessie (concierge). Once again Hugo and Miriam were assigned to be our butlers. Hugo had day duty and he earned every peso that he is paid. Miriam usually covered the afternoon and evenings. Always helpful with getting us a shuttle and being available. We always have to meet up with one of our former butlers, Karen, she makes sure that we are having a wonderful trip. We love staying in 32 Casitas because we get to see Miss Vicky’s smiling face daily and eat her delicious lunches. We had some outstanding waiters at many of the restaurants, to list a few: Marcos @ Kampai; Felipe @ Palms; Sammy @ Kick; Jesus @ D’ Italia Villas; Jairo @ D’Italia Casitas. Jose was our beach butler and he was always ready to serve us!

El Dorado Casitas is our favorite place on earth. If you’re reading this you must go!!!! The beauty, beaches, water, pools, peace and quiet, food, and most of all the Staff! These beautiful people are like family, caring, funny, concerned, always saying “it is my pleasure “ you got to love it. Our favorite breakfast place Santa Fe Grill: chief Alex who is awesome, he makes the best pastries and oatmeal! Servers; Gerado and Pablo; fantastic they get to know who you are and what you like.. coffee, orange juice etc. Butlers who work so hard to make sure every care or need you have is taken care of; Hugo, Miriam, Adriana and Karen always friendly and kind. Concierge that really know how to communicate and get the job done Kevin and Jesse and Louis who has a twin 😂😂. Sweet caring people who understand your need and are so friendly. The wonderful beach butler Jose! So fun to have him be your waiter always happy and smiling. Bartenders; Jovany, Benjamin ready with stories and prepared to get what you would like at all times!! So fun. Oh another famous waiter that is fantastic Wilbert he serves at La Isla ask for him great waiter! Also there is Gerado another great server who is there as well. One more outstanding employee in my book Nancy from the famous spa. She is one of the best. So knowledgeable and does a great facial and a deep tissue massage like nobody else I know!! We are so grateful for this place if you can’t tell by now. 14 days was our visit length. Already signed up for next year. We can hardly wait!!! Thank you All!! You made our vacation wonderful!! Special thanks to Alex and Mairicio in the Exotic office (you should go see them) for making our vacation special this year!!!!!

We were told that we would be able to upgrade our room upon arrival if a honeymoon swim up suite was available.. When we arrived, online was still showing availability for the honeymoon suite but we were informed it wasn’t available. That was just the beginning of many bad experiences.. We had a morning flight, so we arrived at the resort around 11:30 am. Our bags were immediately taken by the bellhops, so we had no way of changing clothes (to use the facilities). We expected to have to wait for our room to be ready (checkin isn’t guaranteed until 3). We walked around the resort (in long pants from our flight) and finally got our room at 2:30.. We were told our bags would be delivered ASAP.. we waited in our room until 6:30 for our luggage. After making SEVERAL TRIPS to meet with concierge, we were finally told it would be the next day before our concierge would be available to meet with us… so no reservations were made the first day. We met with concierge the following day and attempted to make spa reservations, but we quickly discovered that his main goal was to schedule sales presentations. When we made it clear we were NOT interested in any presentations, suddenly there was VERY LIMITED spa availability and concierge wasn’t very helpful. Our mini fridge was stocked one time (upon arrival), then we had to make SEVERAL CALLS to get anything restocked. Housekeeping was hit or miss at BEST. Most days we had to call several times to get the room replenished with towels (and most times the dirty towels were still left in the floor). If you ordered room service, it MIGHT come within 30 - 45 minutes… or they might not show up at all! We spent most of our trip trying to get resolutions to problems unfortunately. The manager of Casitas concierge met with us, and the best she had to offer for our unpleasant experience was “I’m sorry you experienced this.” Our anniversary dinner was scheduled by concierge for our last night… TOTAL FAIL! NOTHING was how it was supposed to be and there was nobody available that late in the evening to help resolve it. We attempted (one last time) to speak with the management of Casitas concierge at checkout.. she didn’t come to work that day. Needless to say, it was a sickening waste of almost 7k!! 10/10 would NOT recommend this place!! It was a HUGE disappointment. The ONLY reason I am rating 2 stars is because our bartender (Francisco) was GREAT and the property itself was GORGEOUS. The overall customer service was TERRIBLE.

We are owners if you don’t want to read further. Our stay was wonderful. Emerald suite in the casitas. Wonderful butler service by Claudio and Adriana. Spa services by Samuel and Angie were exceptional. I highly recommend going for the 80 minutes and doing the hydrotherapy before. We did the Chefs table and the sommelier, Ricardo, was knowledgeable and personalized our pairings with what we like. The chef, Emmanuel, was fantastic and treated us to a Mexican dish. The service was impeccable and I am sorry that I forgot his name, I will blame the wine:). All in all a wonderful stay. Our room was 3038.

Returned after a bit of a hiatus to Casitas but still beautiful. Food on Casitas/Royale side was a great as ever, however restaurants on Generations side sadly was poor to awful on occasion. Rooms need a bit of updating. Housekeeping was great and thorough. Staff worth recognizing; Butler Alfredo who went way above anything asked of him. Other butlers significant by their absence! Benjamin at swim-up bar 32 was awesome. Gerardo waiter in Kampai and Santa Fe was attentive and friendly. Naay Spa staff were also good and I completed a separate survey on site for them. Check in and checkout was quick and efficient. Food at D`Italia was perfect as was Kampai. The chef prepared an "off menu" dish for me when i didnt feel well. Room service was quick, efficient and delivered well within time expectation. Food was also well cooked and exactly a ordered. As a long time member, i found that overall standards have declined somewhat and I hope that things improve once the "split" with Karisma is fully completed.

Best trip ever! So many little things that made our trip seamless. No wrist bands, access to towels everyday, own swim up casita, amazing and fast room service, access to private concierge who checks in on you everyday, top shelf alcohol, speedy service just to name a few. The food in every single restaurant we went to was absolutely delicious. The culinary theater was an amazing experience and worst the extra $35 us each. Very nice clean hotel, with beautiful scenery, grounds are well kept, staff is really really friendly. I would go back in a heartbeat. If you are looking for a party place, this is not it. Very quiet and relaxing, more like a spa experience.

They are trying to cater to to many different classes of guests on the bottom end you have the guests I the Royale and generations with casitas being a bit above the you have the almighty members that have the best beaches roped off and there own menu and restaurant nights. And trying to get any where on the resort you can’t depend on the shuttles there will be days that the only ones you see are the employee ones or the members only ones. When it was built it must have been amazing but with time stuff needs to be updated and changed out. And there is only very little actually beach ( where the water washes up on to sand ). Most of it is very sharp rock where the waves come to the shore. And they have these cement things to help with erosion but looks more like a movie set from France on d -day. And for on resort entertainment don’t do to much the first day or two cause it’s on repeat for the rest of the week. Don’t get me wrong it’s nice if you want an older resort and dont want to really do anything but sit and look at the ocean. The food is amazing if you can find the restaurants portion sizes are on the small side but tasty. There are almost no signs and no maps (except for the little one they give you when you check in that you have to be a miracle worker to figure out) I could keep going but don’t want to waste my time or yours reading this. I would give it a a strong 3.5 to a weak 4 out of 5 but no more
