perfect location, nice beach and beach bar. But the rooms were really avarege. Bathrooms were very old, there were food stains on the bad sheets, no english channels on tv and NO INTERNET IN THE ROOM at all.

This is my second time visiting this hotel, the rooms are basic but big , clean, airy and with balconies! There is a diving centre on site and it is located a few steps away from the beach and from where the diving boats stop to pick up divers! It is also few steps away from ( in my opinion)...

We stayed here for 5 nights. It was nice, but it is a budget type hotel, so don't look for tons of amenities. We were there to dive, so we weren't looking for the $200-$400 a night resorts. The Hotel Plaza is owned by Phocea Mexico, the Dive Shop we were diving with for the week, so it made it...

We arrived and it seemed OK, until we saw some stains on the walls. The room was fine, but they only gave us two towels instead of four. When we asked for the other two they said the hotel was fully booked thus there were no more towels. For us the noise we complain about doesn't come from the night...

We stayed here while diving with Phocea Mexico. It was booked through the dive shop and paid for at the same time as we paid for the dives (at the end). The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and they provided an eggs and toast breakfast that was always ready in time to make our morning dives (although never...

We paid 804 USD via Expedia to stay here. When we arrived they told us they had no rooms and were not able to check Expedia to help us. Expedia happily organised a refund but the blame clearly lies with the hotel. The same thing happened to another couple the same day. In fairness, the girl at the counter helped...

We initially booked to stay here for 3 nights but enjoyed it so much we stayed an extra 3. The room was spacious, the setting perfect, a short trot to the beach and the shops restaurants and bars also really close. The staff were helpful and really nice. We would definitely stay here again.

If you are looking for a place to sleep with out much comfort this place would be fine. There is nothing special about the hotel, it is just convenient t to the dive shop and the beach. However, staff are friendly and it is in a convenient location.

Stayed here for 17 nights. It's a nice basic hotel, if you look at the price/quality-ratio for the location. Very close to the beach, nightclubs, restaurants and the big 5th Avenue. Bright and clean room, with basic equipment (AC, roof-fan, fridge, lcd-tv with cable, and a safe). But I didn't feel insecure there, even left the balcony door open a...

We stayed just over a week in this hotel for Christmas and New Year and although it is a simple hotel the atmosphere created by the staff was simply fantastic! There was a little bit of noise due to some renovations but will be exciting to see it all done up in our next diving trip to playa del Carmen!...

“It is in the middle of a lively bar and restaurant area so a room at the back might suit people who go to bed early during the summer season. We had no problems as the walls are thick.”
