We stayed at the Allegro Playacar from Feb. 23 to Mar. 2. We knew in advance about the beach from reading these reviews so it was not an issue. My girlfriend and I had requested 2 double beds and were given a room with a king bed. We had no problem changing rooms the next day. Yes, the beds are...

Returned home to Midland Ontario March 04 after spending 7 days at the Playacar. The hotel staff were great and the food was quite good with lots of choices. You cannot complain about the quality and selection. The rooms really need refurbishing and our room , which was closer to the ocean , had a musty smell. The ceiling in...

A group of us (12 peoples) stayed at the Allegro from February 13 to the 23rd. Had a great time. We enjoyed the beach even if we had to climb a sand bag to get to the sea. Allegro is located in Playacar a secluded town, and it's a nice place to relax, enjoy the sun, the beach and forget...

This was a nice place. Staff is friendly as can stand to be. There is pressure on the guests to look into and possibly buy their time-shares. We did not. You will get nice gifts for going to and listening to the information. Buffet was not bad for each meal. Our table guy in the morning was a charm to...

Stayed at the Allegro Feb 21-28 2007, and I thought it was wonderful. I have travelled extensively and have stayed at 5.5* places. This place was friendly and the service was wonderful (better than at the Riu Palace in Cancun!). The entertainment staff do a good job, especially one guy (I will attach his photo since not sure of his...

We retruned from a week on Sunday 2/25/07 The property is lovely but there are signs of neglect. Our bed was like sleeping on a brick. Before you think I'm a total grouch, the activities staff were wonderful, there are LOT's of activities by the pool nearest the beach. We also had massages (totally reccommend the hot rock massage). The...

Stayed at Allegro from Jan 27-Feb 17, 2007. Unfortumately, this resort and the other resorts south of Playacar have NO beach so we were unalbe to take our daily walks. The beach is so eroded that only major beach restoration will now fix it...such a shame. BUT the staff of the resort ( activities, food and beverage, housekeeping) really work...

We just got back from a one week stay, and wish it was 2! The majority of the staff are so helpful, willing to accomodate any needs and happy to help. The grounds are very beautiful and peaceful, doves are cooing everywhere and altogether it is a lovely place to stay! Although they lost part of their beach last winter...

We were there for a week from Jan 22-29th. We had read the reviews before we left so we knew there wasn't going to be any beach and weren't expecting much. The rooms were comfy, the hammocks on each deck was heavenly. Typical Mexico rooms/beds - this is my third time being in Mexico and everytime the beds have been...

Beautiful resort with much to do! The beach is still being restored but there is a small beach area. Interesting to watch restoration! The hotel shows were wonderful and the food was very good--alot of variety but enough "repeat" dishes where you didn't have to try everything at one sitting. The chef, Eduardo Zacarias, was gracious enough to share one...
