We stayed here for 9 nights, it's a lovely hotel with beautiful gardens full of wildlife. Most of the staff is amazing, those serving in restaurants and bars can't do enough for you and are incredibly friendly and helpful. Not overly impressed with the reception staff, sorry. Buffet was good and had plenty of choice, pool and beach area stunning. Definitely going to go back, just not in room 1601 as some issues that weren't resolved😊

a bit dated rooms, but still very comfortable. Beautiful location right on the beach and 10 mins by taxi to massive market and 2 mins walk to local mini market. Food was very tasty and fresh, however buffet could be a little bit bigger. nothing really to complain about and will definitely recommend and hopefully return one day.

The First Club Staff are excellent,, Mayra, Astrid & Yuri,, responded great for all our questions! All the bartenders in First Club excellent,, ‘specially Raffi!! Over & above service,, 😊😊😊 The beach is FABULOUS! First Club Rooms showing their age but we had warm water and air conditioning worked fine,, Food is okay,, always can find something to eat,, really enjoying this trip,, we are here for 2 weeks,, woohoooo!! 💛🔆🌴💛🔆🌴

We needed to extend by 1 day and were told "go online, I can not give you as good a rate than what is online". NO other hotel nor resort I have ever stayed with has ever said something as asinine as this. Every front desk manager should have the ability to override rates, but it looks like Barcelo (Across both properties we stayed at, here and the Royal Hideaway) have no ability to do any sort of rate adjustment. This place operated like a group of college kids decided to open and manage a resort and have zero experience in customer service or basic hotel management. Cherry on the cake - The off brand liqueurs they use smells exactly like a harsh floor cleaner called Fabuloso and gave my wife and I near instant heartburn; just vile smelling and tasting poison.

Had a lovely time here and met some great guests and the staff were brilliant. Liked it so much have decided to bring the whole family back in January 2024. Would be really great full of the management could get in touch ASAP as we may have to cancel the reservation due to a change and an additional family member we want to bring. Please get in touch as it would be a pity to have to take over 6family members to a different hotel.

Average hotel overall, no pressure and no hot water in the room shower, lack of choice in buffet, cheap a la carte restaurants...stay with the buffet! beach is perfect, pool is ok, staff is perfect. Location close to playa del carmen (200 min walk) is good, Will not return.
