We arrived 12/04 -12/21, and it was the perfect getaway! Our third time here and we are already ready to book our return trip. We felt so incredibly safe at Royal Hideaway. Staff kept everything clean and sanitized in the midst of the pandemic. The staff is so friendly and helpful! I would like to applaud the Activity & Pool Concierge team; Mercedes, Maggie, Carlos, Manuel, and Alfonso were so helpful and amazing and truly made our trip incredible! They went above and beyond to accommodate any and all our requests to ensure our stay was fantastic. My husband had a great time every day playing volleyball with Maggie, Alfonso and the other guests. The food was delicious, exquisite, creative and very well presented at all of the restaurants. Our favorites were Azia & Palazzo. All the waiters were amazing. Special mention to Bernadino who ensured my husband had a chicken soup and fresh ceviche every lunch (that we requested off-the-menu - felt so spoiled!). Room service was great. We had only one problem: The A/C in our room did not seem to be able to keep up. Even after changing the room, we had the same issue. Apparently, quite a few guests had the same issue. Highly recommend if you're looking to getaway and want a nice, safe, quiet, adults only experience!

My husband and I took a 7-day trip here as our honeymoon. Previously, I would not have considered us all-inclusive resort people as we are usually very active on vacations and we thought we'd be bored. Not the case at all. Our stay was WONDERFUL! The resort itself is GORGEOUS. We loved the layout, grounds, pools, beach access and general beauty inside and out. The staff and resort were very safe, clean and masks were worn 24/7 by staff and guests were respectful and wore masks inside restaurants and while ordering from the bar. Restrooms were super clean and hand santizer was available at every turn. It was a perfectly relaxing getaway and we were not bored at all. Between the gorgeous pools, beach access, spa (excellent massage experience), gym, bike tour and activities, we loved our stay which was a combination of relaxation and new experiences. Alfanso, Manuel, Maggie, Mercy, Carlos get a shout out from us for all the activities including bike tour, volleyball and water aerobics. We had a blast. I also did yoga twice with Sabine which was a fantastic way to start the day. I highly recommend this location and hope we can return!

We just returned from an amazing 7-day vacation here. The resort is perfect- even though some dining locations were not available (Covid induced shutdowns), we had every option we wanted. Plenty of pools, plenty of beach chairs, etc... plenty of entertainment options, plenty of dining options. The all-inclusive and adults-only options were also very important to us. -What really sets this destination apart is the AMAZING customer service! Almost every staff member we came across treated us like royalty. Always prompt, always friendly, always great people to talk to. Too many great staff to mention everyone, but: ***Moises- signed us in when we arrived, made us feel VERY welcome. It was just a great start to our vacation. After flying all day with many connections, and arriving to the resort late- his hospitality was very much appreciated, and helped us to settle into "vacation mode" right away. ***Gabriel- (our concierge in our "villa") went the extra mile in many ways, including a last minute scramble to get us transportation to the airport when our shuttle (Delta Air arranged shuttle, NOT arranged by the resort)- left us hanging at crunch time without any communication. Gabriel's quick actions helped us de-stress during this small crisis on fly-out day. ***The upscale restaurant (Ventana's, I believe)----Every restaurant we dined at was great, with great food. Ventana's was most memorable (we ate here twice) because of the exceptional service that Nicolas provided to us. We had a couple special requests- and Nicolas not only took care of it--- he remembered the next night we were in and took care of it immediately. We appreciate his attention to detail, we also appreciate Edgar's great customer service too. Every dish that Chef Alejandro was excellent, and it was great that he came and explained his thought process for each dish (one night we chose the upgraded "Chef's Table" meal for our last classy "night out" before we left the next day). ***Poolside/Deck/Beach area----- Many, many great staff members (Antonio, Luis, Ricardo, Juan Carlos, Misael, Javier, Genaro, Bernadino, Edgar). We spent most of our time all week in this area. Everyone was great, everyone hustled to make sure we were taken care of. --We especially appreciated Antonio and Luis (great guys, great conversations with them- never a delay in food or drinks, they took great care of us). Also, Ricardo was very nice--- and you could see him literally running out to the beach to make sure guests were not waiting for service. It's simply amazing to see how hard everyone works to make sure guests are taken care of. I apologize for the long review, but we were just astounded by the amazing customer service here. This was my first trip here, second trip to Mexico. The customer service here has won us over---- we'll definitely be staying here again because of the great staff members we were lucky to have. Our normal tradition of spending New Years on some cruise ship somewhere out in the Caribbean Sea got shot down this year. We were really not planning on doing anything, but I started looking for all inclusive resorts in October and Royal Hideaway kept coming back up to the top, so we decided to give RH a shot. Staff - Amazing and friendly. Would go out of their way to take care of anything you need. Room - I loved our room and the fact that this place isn't built like some big hotel resort. Sat on the balcony every night before dinner with a drink watching the sky change colors. Still trying to figure out how I can set up our shower at home like the shower in the room. Bars and bar service - They aren't lying about having good bottles. The drinks didn't always taste the same but you never knew which bartender was mixing and they were never bad. Food - Breakfast at the Deck was always great. We usually hit the Deck early for something light just after our early morning workout, and then again a couple hours later for an omelet or some other breakfast of substance. Lunch at the Deck was also enjoyable. Ask for a table out on the patio. We were assigned dinner reservations at the Grill, Ventanas, Spices, Azia, and then New Year's Eve dinner at Ventanas (set menu). The standout is Azia. If I could have eaten there every night I would have. I wanted to try everything on the menu. The only real complaint we had was with the NYE set menu dinner at Ventanas. The whole idea of two seatings and the set menu just didn't work. They aren't a cruise ship and they didn't pull this off. The only thing edible at the NYE dinner was our first course. The 2nd course and main course - whole half lobster - were inedible. Our lobsters were served cold and raw. Think lobster jelly. And we never got served the dessert course. The problem wasn't just with our table. Every table we were around all sent their food back uneaten. Needless to say room service was overwhelmed and the quality of that food took a hit as well. If we go back for NYE next year we will skip any set menu offerings and make reservations off resort. It really was a let down. That said, I am patiently waiting for booking to be available for next NYE so I can get our room saved. I cannot wait to go back. The week at RH was incredible.

We have been here end of December 2020 / beginning 2021. First of all - this IS a luxury place. You may read negative reviews about certain points and you may read descriptions of the rooms etc., which may indicate, the place is somehow usual or average - it is not (and we have been to many luxury places). Yes, it was not built just yesterday, so you may find the furniture in the rooms old fashioned and you may find that some walls deserve new color, but all in all - it is amazing. The stuff is beyond friendly and professional. For those, who fear Covid-19 (why do you travel anyway? Stay home then) - everything is absolutely safe. If you want, you can spend all the time here without getting in contact with anyone except the stuff and all of them wear their masks correctly and keep distance. The beach is beautiful (being cleaned everyday). All inclusive really means all inclusive. If you care about food - this is also great here and you have a good choice between Italian, Asian, Mexican and Western style, even in Covid-times. If you booked a standard room (called Luxury room), ask for an upgrade when checking in. They may give you a discount. But booking is cheaper via internet in general. All in all - awesome place. Keep up the good service!
