This is the type of property that photographs really well but falls apart when you start looking at the details. We stayed in unit 223 - 2nd floor, ocean view. View: upon first walking in to the unit, all we could see was floor-to-ceiling glass and a wonderful view of the water. Step out onto the balcony, though, and that view is marred by a row of lots between the building and the beach. One lot was storage for a Sea Doo rental company. The other had an old pickup truck and 5th-wheel trailer that looked like it hadn't been used for quite some time. There was a bunch of furniture scattered on the lot and the remains of tents with twisted frames and tattered canvas. Interior and furniture: this is one tired unit. A dryer vent that I had to tape into place so I could use it. Patio furniture pillows full of holes. An interior wicker ottoman that was broken, but instead of throwing it out, they covered the broken section with a tray. Bathroom fixtures that were long past their prime. I take much better care of my home, so when I pay thousands of dollars to stay for one week in a place like this, it's disappointing. This was booked through Expedia and managed by Bric Vacation Rentals. I expect that there are a variety of units in different conditions available, but Bric should establish better unit condition standards if they want repeat customers.…
Property was not accurately describes on Airbnb. Hot tub did not work. Appliances did not work. Penthouse was dirty. Shower leaked. Amenities were ok. Pool was clean the property hot tub was green and smelled due to overload of kids. Small beach with piles of seaweed with odor. The locals sit in front of the small hotel beach all day and night.
For the renter Playa can be challenging. The beaches are all public, no umbrellas, no chairs...nothing only the beautiful sea and fine sand. If not staying at a sea side, luxury hotel, the walk from your condo to the beach lugging chairs, umbrellas ect can present an inconvenience. If reluctant to bring your own the options are paying a daily fee to a beach club or renting from locals on beach. The beach clubs provide all you will need, food, comfort and facilities but at a price, also they tend to be noisy with loud, thumping, incessant "music". So you find yourself on a lovely beach with decisions to make every day...can be a hassle! Staying at THE ELEMENTS eliminates all of the above. It has its OWN PRIVATE BEACH, the only condo complex in Playa with this luxury. It has a beautiful extra large pool with showers and a Jacuzzi tub. The complex is configured so that everyone has direct ocean frontage from the large decks, in fact in my condo you could hear the sound of the surf...fantastic!!!The units are spacious with 21/2 baths, gigantic showers and plenty of closet space. This was the best condo that I have ever seen, and I travel often. When renting premium properties one expects amenities..air, large screen TVs, stainless ect. However, the defining quality is service. The Elements has a virtual army of people to groom the grounds..always, every day. The maid, Mari, was gracious and pleasant, amazing as we speak no Spanish and she no English but it worked with a smile. Miguel, the 'manager' was fantastic..always. Speaks perfect English, always available for anything or everything...yes is the first word out of his mouth...toaster broken?one hour Miguel delivers a new one...trouble getting US TV channels phone in minutes...set up computer, cell phone ect..done...restaurant or travel info..pick up the phone..and wait for knock on door..my wife wanted her nails done...Miguel has someone..I needed a barber...done! Message on beach done....get the picture? And I must say the everyone at complex was gracious..always. Luxury and amenities come with a price. The 2 bed condos are expensive but they can easily accomodate 6..the two floor penthouses are gigantic, complete with private roof top jacuzzi, but can easily sleep 8 or more with kids. If you want a memorable vaca and are willing to pay extra , but not that much extra, this is the place to bask in the sea, sun and go to a private beach with a private bar and a private message tent.…
Fabulous Family Vacation! I recently booked a surprise family trip through Brick management at the Elements Condo property in Playa De Carmen, Mexico. The booking was easy through the Brick website. The management was responsive, answering all of my questions in both phone and emails. I got a great price on the accommodations and airport transportation when I booked over the phone. The Elements complex and our unit was the perfect condo for our adult family trip. I selected unit #124 at the Elements Property. The condo was beautiful, we had a great ocean view, a spacious layout, stylish furnishings, comfortable beds, and lovely linens. The best was the gorgeous patio and ocean views. Miguel from Brick was so helpful he acted as a concierge giving us constant recommendations. I would highly recommend booking with Brick the experience did not disappoint. I can't wait to go back! We all had a great time and loved the location, service, beaches, and amazing food. Thanks, HB…
Absolutely loved everything about the Elements. We had the 4 bedroom penthouse with an amazing view from both floors of the condo. We booked through BRIC...and the entire experience was top notch. The communication prior to and during our visit was just great. As we took trips to Tulum, cenotes, etc... we couldn't wait to get back to the property to enjoy what it offered. Miguel...the ambassador was just excellent...for all of our needs and was available all day long.
We had really nice experience at the Elements condo. The apartment is very beautiful, service was great and perfect location, just few minutes walking to the shops and restaurants. The beach was perfect too, very little or no seaweed for nine days that we were there.
We brought our good friend down for his 70th birthday. We have been to Playa several times and always admired The Elements. My low number is for several reasons I will explain here. 1. Roaches. Our room was FULL of roaches. 2. This is a VERY family friendly place and there were kids of all ages filling the pool. Apparently it is ok for the kids to have scooters and ride them anywhere in the pool area. I asked the front staff if they could ask the kids to keep it down and all they said was “sorry”. 3. NOISE. Just to the right of The Elements is a large scale condo being built. Constant being and LOUD banging from 7am-dark, every day except Sunday. 4. The elephant in the room, SEAWEED. It is everywhere and they cannot keep up with it. It is stacked as high as a6 foot person. There are teams of people scraping daily and tractors and trucks lining the shoreline. The smell is hideous, like rotten eggs because it’s just sitting and rotting. There is tons of noise with the tractors on the beach. Sadly, a vacation that was to be relaxing and quiet was not what we expected. We won’t be back.…
We were in condo 122. It has amazing views of two sides of the ocean and the pool. This sold us on this condo. We rented it through Playamoments. After reading a few reviews on here about people having trouble with them, I was nervous. They were GREAT! No problems at all. Aldo, the manager, was VERY attentive. He checked in almost daily during our 12 day stay. The kitchen is fine. We used it daily. You have a limit of six bath towels (changed out once during our stay). NO washcloths. I would have brought some if I would have known... we like to use them to wash our fast, etc. The condo was very clean. Kind of has a musty odor though. There is a whirlpool tub on the deck out the master bath, but the water is not warm out there. We put water in a big tub and filled it up with warm water from the shower. We did not get to use our beautiful patios as much as we would have liked though as the seagrass was so bad on the beach and the smell got worse each day we were there. It wasn't bad at the pool though. The pool is BEAUTIFUL! Never busy. In fact, we were many days the only ones there. They maintain it very well. If it rains, they are quick to come and pick up the cushions and then put them back out later. The hot tub is just warm, but still felt good. They do try and clean the seagrass from their beach. The water was not at all clean though. I would not wanted to swim in it right there. They have nice chairs, a sand volleyball court, and a bar with food service (we did not use it, but I heard good things about it). There is a public beach right next door that always had fishermen coming and going. It didn't bother us though. We enjoyed watching them from our condo. There is a nice, two level fitness center. Wi-fi is not the strongest, but it works. You are a few blocks to the northern end of 5th avenue. It is about a three mile walk to the end of 5th avenue. It is a beautiful shopping district though. We felt very safe and walked it daily. Many, many places to eat and shop. There is a Seven Eleven just across the street that we used daily to buy bread, eggs, drinks, etc. Their prices were decent and they had a pretty good selection for how small it is. We did walk to a Super Aki twice (can take a taxi back-about $4) and also to Walmart for groceries. Walmart is walkable, but it is a ways. We took a taxi back with our groceries. The condos had families, single people, couples-older and young... we were a family with two teenagers. It was quiet most of the time. There is a beach club across the street that plays louder music, but it didn't bother us. It might if you are on the other side of the condos though. We did not have a grill at our condo, which might have been nice. Full size refrigerator, oven, microwave, washer and dryer (we used this to bring home clean (not dirty) laundry). The king bed in the main bedroom was very firm, but we actually didn't mind it. Our kids thought the two queen beds in the other room were very comfortable. The pillows were very fluffy (a little more than we would prefer). I would highly recommend this condo!…
Booked through Airbnb Condo 102 for a family holiday. Condo in great location in complex with great views across the road to the beach club and beach. It was well appointed but needed to buy an electric kettle to boil water for babies bottles. 2 bedrooms both with en-suite bathrooms which was very convenient for us. Short walk to main shopping area and an abundant choice of restaurants. Would stay here again.
We stayed here for a week with our five year old, seven year old, grandma, and Grandpa. The condo was perfect and the complex is perfect. The condos all face the pool/ocean. It is close to lots of shopping and restaurants. There are water activities steps down the beach for reasonable prices. The small private beach area is nice with lots of chairs. The pool has three depths that are perfect for the kids with a nice hot tub steps from the pool. I cannot say enough how perfect this was for our family. Miguel was our concierge and was great. He showed us the map and marked special locations to see and what restaurants to try. He got us everything we asked for and was available 24/7. He is a great asset to the condos and made our stay even better!!!!
