The hotel has a very good location. It is right on the 5th ave. It's good only if you're going to be out all day and you're only going to sleep at night. My room did not have a security box. The iron must be ordered in the lobby.
We arrive at the hotel about 21:00 and a soon as we got our rom key the WC was not working so we went to the reception..the answer to this problem was to give us a stick to "clean" the WC...just unreal situation but as we were tired I said ok...of course we try to fix the WC by ourself but now way to solve this problem..so we said let's sleep and will see tomorrow...the room it's incredibly noisy..and the mattress it's just like sleeping on the floor very old...so we decide to go reception to ask another room since clearly in this room it was impossible to sleep...to noisy (means for us like sleeping inside a disco..and mattress too old) they give us another room after insisting.. and surprise it was as noisy as the first one and the mattress as bad as the first room !!!! well we decide to stay until next morning and then we will live since it was late and we were tired from 15 hours of traveling...next morning we ask reception to check out and ask them if they will rembourse for the 2 remaining days that we don't wanna stay? Answer was yes no problem we just have to sent an email to Expedia.com...so perfect we left quite and found a perfect and beautiful hotel for the rest of our stay. (H & M Hotel highly recommendable)....well back in our country we call Expedia.com and surprise the Hotel now doesn't want to reimburse the 2 nights we didn't stay at the Hotel...Long story short...The Hotel is just Horrible and Expedia.com unable to solve this probelm and clearly not taking the position of the customer and only want to take the commission of the sales..(Expedia.com old the money of the reservation for 30 days, so if they want they can perfecty reimburse...but as the Hotel say no they don't that mean for all of you future Expedia.com customer don't expect nothing from them to be on your side at any moment, they clearly don't control if the photos are real and the quality of the service etc..they just care about cashing your money...…
Not sure where photos on their site are from. We decided to stay an extra night in Playa del Carmen during the busy March break. It seemed a better option than relocating closer to the airport for an 8 AM flight. Unfortunately, our hotel was fully booked, so we decided to relocate to the El Punto, being very close. The few short hours of our stay was too much. The picture with the baggage shows a comparison in height of the bed to a standard carry on bag. The window reflection shows the frosted glass of the room window. Terrible place next to clubs and all the noise of 5th Avenue.
If location is your thing, than this hotel is it. There are some downsides though if you plan to stay here. Rooms were okay but it seemed like the flooring was coming apart in my room. The rooms are clean and maid service is provided daily. The television only receives 3 channels but I didn't spend much time in the room. You know you are in for some loud nights when ear plugs are provided for you on the night stand. If you are a light sleeper than this place is definitely not for you. There is a club on the roof of the hotel and on the weekends they stay open until 6am. Very loud music and the entrance to the club is through the hallways of the hotel. As you walk out the hotel, you are directly on 5th avenue. It is convenient and I really liked that. One block from the beach and close to restaurants and shops. I enjoyed my stay and knew what I was getting into when I booked the hotel, but I don't think I will return since I do prefer to get a good night's sleep every so often.…
Front desk staff was super nice. The room was very clean. The attention to detail in the room was lacking, but it was very inexpensive. The only thing that bothered me was the noise. I was only in Playa del Carmen for the night, before continuing on to Tulum. I guess I didn't realize that it's full of obnoxious Americans partying all night. The windows in the room are single-pane glass and do almost nothing to block out the noise, which carries on nearly all night. Not just loud voices and yelling, of which there was plenty, but also the *thump - thump - thump* of the loud techno and hip-hop music. Not a good place to try and get a good night's sleep. I would recommend this place for young people who like to party. It would be perfect if that is the purpose of your stay.
Good room within the city, not too loud but tiny bathroom and warm water by surprise only. No water cooker but fridge and good king size bed. No breakfast included. No garage. Service quite friendly, price adequate.
Third time staying here. Haven't had any negative experiences. Located on 5th Avenue and near the beach. Room spacious, clean and met all of our needs. The desk staff is friendly and always accommodating. Would recommend this hotel.
Never again I went this September four nights stay whit my husband hotel el punto it’s a cheep hotel for Young people the rooms are very basic whit small bedroom uncomfortable beds and super noisy the only good thing they have it’s the staff and the location In the corner of the hotel it’s a big bar which it open until four AM and you definitely can’t sleep you can hear the noise all night This hotel it’s one more in the fifth nothing special definitely You can find better for same price Skip it
I wanted to give this 2 stars because the front desk staff was helpful and attentive every day and the location is great for a couple looking to be close to the nightlife buttttt most "amenities" were in poor condition at best if working. For my 5 day stay duration, the elevator never worked, the microwave was broken, and the toilet / bathroom fan just wafted a funky backed up bathroom smell every time the toilet flushed. The closet was poorly designed yet housekeeping kept stuffing the comforter inside of it. We struggled almost every night to rearrange the nightstand area and squeeze it out. We would have to ask for ice (in a bowl) or a blow dryer whenever we needed it and for some reason the housekeeper would never give us clean washcloths so we would have to ask for those as well. I wouldn't recommend this hotel at all. Also, the photos of the front of the hotel are old, all of that beautiful upstairs seating etc is from a restaurant that no longer exists. This places is outdated all around and they need to take down the misleading photos.…
This hotel is located on Quinta avenida, the busiest street in playa Del Carmen. It's close to everything but it's not the quietist. You can hear the crowds on Quinta. It doesn't bother me but it could bother some if you're sensitive to noise. Regardless the hotel is clean comfortable and I wouldn't hesitate to stay again.
