Ladies and gentlemen, strap in, because we're about to embark on a journey through paradise itself. Imagine this: you arrive at the Banyan Tree Mayakoba, and from the moment you step foot on its hallowed grounds, you're treated like royalty. Yes, it's as good as it sounds. As soon as we pulled up to the hotel entrance, the friendly staff welcomed us with open arms and a smile, addressing us by name. They offered us a refreshing lemonade or margarita, setting the tone for the luxurious experience that awaited us. But that's just the beginning. The so-called "lobby" here is unlike anything I've ever seen. A sprawling canal surrounds a massive, ancient tree, creating a picturesque entrance that makes you feel like you've stumbled upon a secret oasis. We were led down a flight of stairs to a dock, where a small boat awaited us. And so began our journey through the enchanting canals of Mayakoba. Our captain shared tales of the area's history and how this incredible resort came into being. It was like an adventure before the adventure. Arriving at the beach check-in area was a treat in itself. We were handed our drink of choice, and alongside it came freshly made guacamole, a taste of Mexico that set our tastebuds dancing. Check-in was a breeze, and after completing the formalities, we were off to our villa. Oh, that villa. It was like something out of a dream. The moment we stepped inside, our senses were hit with an explosion of delightful scents, ambiance, and soothing music. The large bedroom overlooked a private deck, complete with a plunge pool and a stretch of beach that seemed tailor-made for romantic walks at sunset. The massive bathroom boasted not one but two sinks, a steam shower, and all the amenities one could ever wish for. And in the villa's backyard, a private hot tub and outdoor shower awaited, surrounded by a gorgeous lounge area. It was paradise, plain and simple. We were lucky enough to spend six glorious nights in our beachfront villa, and during our stay, Emmanuel and Eduardo, our concierges, were our guiding stars. They worked day and night, ensuring our every need was met. Sun beds? Set up. Dinner reservations? Made. Transportation, recommendations, you name it – they had it covered. Oscar and Jorge, the fantastic duo at La Copa bar and restaurant, became more than just staff; they became our friends. They seemed to be everywhere on the property, always checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. Their service was not just remarkable; it was heartwarming. And let's talk about the dining options. We had the pleasure of experiencing all the on-site restaurants. Saffron, the Thai restaurant, served up the most divine Thai cuisine I've ever tasted. Tomahawk, the steakhouse, cooked our meat to perfection, crafting a dinner that would make any carnivore swoon. Cello, the Italian gem, transported us to the heart of Tuscany with its menu and ambiance. But one unforgettable night, we embarked on a private boat ride through the canals for a romantic dinner consisting of tapas and drinks, a moment of pure enchantment. And of course, we can't forget La Copa – the Mexican masterpiece. On our last night, we were treated to a Mexican buffet fit for royalty, complete with mariachi bands and a pinata to keep us entertained. It was a night we'll never forget. As we reluctantly bid farewell to this slice of heaven on Earth, we couldn't help but feel overwhelming gratitude to every staff member who made our stay truly unforgettable. Banyan Tree Mayakoba, you've set the bar incredibly high, and we can't wait to return. This, my friends, is what dreams are made of.

We were excited to return to Banyan Tree Mayakoba for a stay in one of their new rooftop sunset lagoon villas. The photos on their website looked amazing but reality was even better. The clean, modern design of the two-story villa was so inviting and relaxing. The heated pool on the second floor was a real treat but we did not realize that there was also an outdoor jacuzzi and rain fall shower on the first level. We loved all the water elements and could barely tear ourselves away from the villa to explore the resort. We had excellent, attentive service from Andy and Monica who were the butlers assigned to our villa. Both of them checked in on us to see if we needed anything and helped us with dinner reservations, bringing extra coat hangers to our room, arranging in-room dining, and helping us during check out. They were always there for us and always cheerful and welcoming. The resort is stunning and you can spend hours walking, riding bikes, and exploring the extensive grounds. We can’t wait to return next year!

The hotel is beautiful. The service is perfect. The food is not the best. And when you stay at a five diamonds resort your expectations are hight on food quality. If you need to choose restaurants please don't choose Tomahawk restaurant, the quality is very poor even thought its no cheap. In summary , it's a great resort and you will love it. Just don't eat at Tomahawk

We just celebrated my wife’s 50th birthday at Banyan Tree and had an amazing experience. From the moment we arrived until our departure, the service was first class. Everyone was so kind and thoughtful. We had breakfast every morning at Oriente and were greeted with smiles and the most attentive waiters. For dinner, we did the Mexican party night which was a buffet with different stations of authentic Mexican and Mayan foods. We also had dinners at Cello, Saffron, Sands and Ixchel boat cruise dinner with Marcos and Jesus who were fantastic. Each dinner was unique and a great experience. We also opted for the Mexican cooking class with Jeovani which was a great experience. We also did the tequila tasting with Samuel which was informative and a lot of fun. We enjoyed walking the nature trail, taking the eco boat tour, lounging at the Reflections pool and the Sands Beach Club. Of course, having our own pool was a unique and fun time. We are so appreciative to all of the people who perform their jobs with kindness and attentiveness that made my wife’s birthday celebration one that we will never forget.

The best service I've ever had, and everyone is really kind. Average food, expensive for its quality specially in the restaurants. The villas and the place in general is really pretty, clean and green.

We had such a lovely time at Tomahawk steak house! It was the best steak and chicken (the special) that we’ve ever had. The ambience was wonderful - with birds cawing in the background seated right by the water. The best part was the waiters and staff. Juan Jose and Edson were thoughtful, attentive, and went above and beyond. We were enjoying our baby moon and they magically knew and provided us with invaluable advice and a delicious personalized chocolate cake and mock-tail. We can’t recommend this restaurant enough and are so grateful for the memory we will cherish for a life time.

Stunning hotel room!!! We loved having a pool and hot tub. The air conditioned dining room was so handy for cooling down. Despite us not taking turn down then everyday we were delivered with little treats to our room. Attention to detail was awesome and the room was really clean. House keeping did forget one day re the instruction of no bed dressings and added some fresh rose petals but as it was all so so immaculate I didn’t mind. Staff were so friendly and smily throughout the resort and genuinely warm people. We are at several of the resorts restaurants and they were incredible! This was one of our favourite hotels and resorts :-)

This place was gorgeous and the villas were incredible, but the real star was the staff. We brought our two year old son and everyone went above and beyond to make him feel special on his birthday and to accommodate his allergies.

During my stay at the Banyan Tree hotel in Mayakoba I experience exceptional customer service and was surrounded by peaceful, caring individuals. Upon arrival, I felt safe with the correspondence through text message from the hotel concierge. The transportation was on time and very helpful in accommodating. When we arrived at the hotel we were able to ride the boat to The Villa. The boat ride was amazing. The whole lobby was amazing. The inside outside concept is just beautiful. And the way that you're able to see natural wildlife and a resort like this is just unlike anywhere else. The room was clean and I was even able to get the jacuzzi in my private pool at the temperature that I desired. My concierge team was great. Sonya and Laura were very lovely and helpful everyday that I was there. I was able to experience the Mayan Haabb dinner the host Pepe and all the Mayan dancers along with the chef. And bartender gave us the best experience ever. Breakfast was great, Make sure you try the Mexican coffee! We ate the Saffron and the dishes were great (bring off wipes and wear pants at night to avoid mosquitoes). We were even able to meet the chef and he was so nice to come and speak with us and he is actually from Phuket and talk to us about his journey and cuisine history. My room was clean, smelled dreamy, and even came with a private beach area. I was able to get a Cocomango and drinks right on the beach in front of my room. This place truly felt like a home away from home. I will be back soon.
