We stayed at Banyon tree now, it was our second visit. The first visit was great, with a room by the main hotel and restaurants. This visit we stayed on the beach with an ocean view room. Staying by the beach in an ocean view room is just an incredible experience. There is a separate check in area and Conceirge for rooms on the beach. Banyon tree is fantastic. Incredible service. Facilities and Food great. Spa very nice. The beach pool is amazing, right on the ocean with great food and service. Beach pool and Sands restaurant def a highlight. Saffron, the Asian restaurant is on a pier is really cool experience. The golf course is next door with easy access and a great course. We had a small issue which was taken care of quickly and professionally. Conceirge service great as they were texting and checking in daily. We took an eco cruise around the lagoons and saw multiple properties. Would for sure stay again. Highly recommend, it is expensive but worth it as this is truly a 5 star hotel.…
We were excited to return to Banyan Tree Mayakoba for a stay in one of their new rooftop sunset lagoon villas. The photos on their website looked amazing but reality was even better. The clean, modern design of the two-story villa was so inviting and relaxing. The heated pool on the second floor was a real treat but we did not realize that there was also an outdoor jacuzzi and rain fall shower on the first level. We loved all the water elements and could barely tear ourselves away from the villa to explore the resort. We had excellent, attentive service from Andy and Monica who were the butlers assigned to our villa. Both of them checked in on us to see if we needed anything and helped us with dinner reservations, bringing extra coat hangers to our room, arranging in-room dining, and helping us during check out. They were always there for us and always cheerful and welcoming. The resort is stunning and you can spend hours walking, riding bikes, and exploring the extensive grounds. We can’t wait to return next year!…
We had a group meeting here and added 4 night on to truly enjoy all the offerings. We ate at all the restaurants on site as well as some at Rosewood and Fairmount. The staff is outstanding. Victo at the beach has a great attitude and hustles to ensure your every need is handled. They really make everything easy and fun. We also went scuba diving at the dive shop down on the beach. And my husband played a few rounds of gold on their wonderful golf course. Spa staff is excellent and it is truly an experience.
This was an amazing escape from start to finish. My husband and I came for a week to escape winter. From the moment we arrived and were presented with delicious juice, welcome bracelets, and a chair massage, a complimentary upgrade to a villa beyond our wildest expectations, to Raul’s specialty drinks at the Reflections pool bar, and Osiel Ortiz’s personal service at Sands, every detail was covered! Thank you for an incredible week.
Banyan Tree Mayakoba has beautiful grounds with a lush landscape wherever you look. The beach views are breathtaking. The villas are large, clean and ours had a private lap pool and hot tub which we thoroughly enjoyed. I cannot say enough about the staff at this resort! Allan Munoz's eyes are everywhere making sure that the guests are taken care of in every way. Jorge, Arturo, Osiel and Jasmine treated us like gold at the restaurants. Angeles, Naomi and Paola were incredibly helpful and kind at the beach concierge/lobby area. Edwin, Gama, Pedro, Eunice and Edna gave us excellent service on the beach making sure that we had water, towels and checking in to see if we wanted food or drinks. This is a great place to escape. A gorgeous setting with the best staff. We highly recommend!…
I second all the positive reviews. We had a beachfront veranda room and it was the nicest room we’d ever stayed in. Lovely veranda with nice sized plunge pool plenty big for a couple. Very private. Great outdoor shower in back. Huge room. Gorgeous lighting. I liked it more than the beach level units (which may be bigger); the unit below us opened onto the beach and had a much larger pool but no privacy. Staff was uniformly courteous and helpful - extraordinarily so. Don’t miss the 40 minute scheduled eco boat tour around the canals - it was wonderful. (Shoutout to our skipper Ignacio. He’d probably done that tour 200 times but he was delightful and animated and made sure the kids got to see everything.) Only negatives: The “rainforest (or rain shower) experience at the spa was a waste of time and money (basically a walk through some nice showers a sauna, a steam room and a hot tub for $157. I felt kind of silly the entire time. Shame on me for not reading about it more carefully. Food ain’t cheap but they are on the right side of supply/demand. I didn’t think the food (especially at Italian place) (other than breakfasts) was on par with the surroundings. Small bottle of champagne in the minibar was $160 - oops. Breakfast at the beachfront club was delicious and in a lovely surrounding. Tip to management: put some thought into the volume of the Mexican/Reggae music that came blaring out of the seaside beach club. It was a whole lot louder than it needed to be and was jarring and intrusive on our very expensive private veranda 8 verandas away. All that said, we loved the place.…
Was my Honeymoon and we specifically paid for the Serenity Villa so that we can enjoy having our own Hot Tub and pool. The hot tub was not working for the first 2 days out of our 4 full days there, we complained on day 1 and 2 of our stay and they kept saying we will fix it asap. finally fixed it so we can have it for the last 2 days... The whole trip was really nice and amazing, but after complaining and asking them to give us some form of compensation for the fact that we paid extra for a service we didn't get, and they pretty much said "Nothing we can do..."just dampers our memory of this trip, and I think its just very unprofessional on their part
Our experience began with a warm welcome greeting and ritual. The setting was magnificent, service impeccable and food delicious. Surprise visit from the Executive Chef who is humble and charming. One of my favorite dining experiences ever.
Gorgeous grounds, brand new beach front suites were impeccable and beautifully done. This was second time here and it wont be the last. The entire Mayakoba complex is heaven on earth. The brand new beach front and restaurant were outstanding. And there’s plenty to do within hours drive from cenotes to Tulum.
It was my 4th stay at the Banyan Tree Mayakoba and once again, it was picture perfect. Expecting great, receiving extraordinary. My 10 nights stay at the Beachfront Lanai Pool Suite was fabulous. I love the quietness of the beautiful lanai, spending hours reading a book or relaxing in the pool facing the sea. Fantastic accommodation with a huge bedroom/living area, large bathroom with 2 sinks, separate shower and restroom, spectacular interior patio with an outdoor shower and jet tub. I have barely left the villa, except for meals and a few activities. This resort has a fantastic group of people working there. Once again, I missed the GM of the hotel, Mr. Juan Carlos Cardona, but he was in touch with me before, during and after my stay, making sure that my stay was as good as it gets. It was generous of him and very much appreciated. While away, the resort was run by Mr. Paul Sykes and what a fabulous job he did! He seemed to be everywhere, always smiling and cordial. Very quick witted, figuring out guests needs and expectations before they even know it. I observed it on multiple occasions and I was very impressive. The Banyan Tree hotels have excellent General Managers in their group and I see Paul as one of them in a very near future. He has all the skills and experience. I have no doubt that the positive influence and excellence of Mr. Cardona and Mr. Ingo Brieke, the current GM of the Banyan Tree Cabo Marques in Acapulco (whom Paul has succeeded) had a tremendous impact on Paul. Excellent team work! BTW, most of the guests I talked to had no idea that the Banyan Tree in Acapulco existed! Definitely needs to be advertised more in USA. Such a beautiful place as well. In general, most of the US guests have a little or no idea about the Banyan Tree hotels. The new: The Latin BBQ night on the beach. Great opportunity to meet other guests of the resort. Relaxed atmosphere, great drinks, a wide assortment of tasty meals. But again, the best part was the possibility of meeting other guests. It was fun. Breakfast is now also served at the Sands Beach Club so an easy task for anyone staying close to the beach. Just a short walk, however the buggies are available all the time to take one to the main restaurant. One can ride a bike as well. A very nice ride! The Lagoon and Sunset villas. Look fabulous, though as mentioned above, I am definitely in love with the Beachfront Lanai Pool Suites. The old, fantastic as always. The staff at the Oriente. Just superb. Genuinely friendly and cheerful. Just everyone, but I do have to mention Jazmin. Such a wonderful person. The burger at the Burger Shop. You must try it! Hugo, who runs this place will make you experience memorable. La Copa. I have not really tried it in the past, but it is a fantastic place to have some drinks, watch games and and enjoy the Mexican cuisine. The Saffron. The new Thai chef will prepare your meal the way you like it. He makes fabulous curries. A must! Many thanks to Andrea and Marcos, the villa hosts. You were wonderful! And to everyone at the Banyan Tree Mayakoba. Thank you for another fantastic experience. Once again, you made every effort to make sure that my stay is of the highest quality. You accomplished it effortlessly and extraordinarily. The Banyan Tree Mayakoba, it feels like home, you feel like home. Many thanks and hope to be back soon!…
