I stayed 10 days in the the Grand Velas section of the resort. The room was lovely with an ocean view and every amenity I desired. The restaurants had wonderful choices of food and the pool area was my favorite. I was traveling alone and felt safe and my the staff were excellent.
We traveled as a family of 12 with 3 generations and 5 children between the ages of 18 months to 11 years. There were multiple activities for every age, delicious fresh food always available, and impeccable, beautiful, large rooms and public areas. The huge pool and the proximate beach provided endless entertainment and activity. The staff was especially pleasant and competent at every level. They sincerely smiled and assisted the guests at every opportunity. Overall, our experience was outstanding.
It is always a pleasure to be a spoilt guest at the GV Riviera Maya! The whole resort is extremely well kept, and the food is extraordinary. However, what makes a difference is their people, their welcoming attitude and professionalism. Many thanks to Daniela for her gym/yoga/acquaforza classes that have kept the whole family fit and entertained, to Marco for being always around with a smile and ready to sort out any problem, to the staff at Bistro (Edgar, Maira, Ernesto, Felix, Becker, William, Rubi and Mirelle) and the staff at the Ambassador Pool (Luis x2, Israel, and the rest) for taking such good care of us.
We own a week at this resort, but haven't been in 14 years. Going back, the property and rooms were in almost as good of shape as they were when they were brand new (when we bought). This is a beautiful resort. The rooms are spacious and palatial. The grounds are immaculately kept. But the staff is probably the most impressive thing, which is kind of amazing, considering how big of a resort it is. Every time we called the front desk for something, whether it was to bring ice or pillows or fixing something, they were there within a few minutes. Viri and Gabby, Who do crafts and other fun things for the kids, are fantastic. They are super kind, sweet, and fun. Our kids absolutely loved them, and we felt great with leaving our kids with them. Jordan, Who is on the entertainment staff, was a constant source of fun for our kids. They truly made friends with him, and he provided them lots of laughs and fun. They clean the room every day, including doing the dishes (which is good, since there is no dish washer), sweeping, changing the sheets and towels. This is the most well stocked kitchen I've experienced at a time share, and the things we felt there weren't enough of they brought us more. One disappointment was that they charged us for using the amenities - gym, mini golf, tennis. We are owners, and owners apparently get amenities for free when staying during their normal week. But we had traded in during a different week because of the coronavirus. When you are there on a different week than the one you own, they charge you for amenities. That was pretty disappointing, considering we've paid over $10,000 in maintenance fees for this property over the years.…
Just returned from spending 4 days at the Grand Velas Riviera Maya with my family and had a great time! Have to say they where fully committed to keeping us safe in these COVID times. Very diligent in their cleaning and mindful of every detail. The General Manager Fito and Lety Fernandez (Spa Director) as well as their super Concierge team (Diana Garcia and Marco) where very kind and always ahead on every detail. It was truly a magnificent experience which of course I´m looking to repeat in the near future!
