Comfortable, quiet, centrally located. Staff is helpful and speak English. There is free, but slow, wifi. I didn't like my bed and was able to move to another room with a more comfortable bed with no problem. My only complaint is that until I saw another group, I didn't realize I could get a continental breakfast at the attached restaurant.... More

Great location, great service, rooms are ok, not super great , but they are clean and good to sleep at, the pool in nice, it is and old house turned into a hotel, so the arquitecture is awesome and one block away form the cathedral and main square makes it a great asset to travelers who want to see the... GOOD: $32 per night / lovely central courtyard / air conditioning / nice staff / breakfast included / laundry service / plenty of hangers in closet / lots of plugs for your gadgetry / tall, beamed ceilings ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT: only warm water / poor water power / rock hard bed / lumpy pillows / peeling paint / too few... This colonial manor has been turned into a charming hotel. The rooms were clean, with good air-con, tv and shower, the staff friendly, and very nice common areas make it feel more like a guest house than a generic hotel room. I found this hotel very convenient and a great value even though I didn't have time to enjoy the... More

We stayed in a junior suite. There were two tv’s: one of them was a big flat screen TV. The building was very nice with high ceilings and a nice courtyard. The room could use some upgrading. When we arrived the floor of the suite was dirty. Room was not very dark.

Back in the 1990's when I moved to Merida, I stayed here for 10 days until I could find an apartment. Now all the things that needed to be updated have been and a pool has been added. Otherwise it is just the same wonderful ancient house as I remembered. If you like to stay in a simple and authentic... More

I have stayed in many hotels in Mérida over the years, both budget and pricey, but I tend to enjoy more typical surroundings over some flashy place that could be anywhere. The Hotel Montejo, at 560 pesos a night single, is a true value in this city and is also a charming oasis in the heart of the city. I... More

After a promising start with prompt responses to emails, I booked 3 nights at the Hotel Montejo, I was looking for a neat place close to the downtown area, and at the time I wasn't planning on bringing a car to Merida. Plans changed and I contacted the hotel with regard to parking, no reply. When checking in the clerk... More

I was staying with an educational group at a hotel on the same block. My original hotel, the Castellano was quite fine, but a bit pricey. My wife was coming to join me for a stay in Merida. So I asked our local guide, Alfonso Escobedo to recommend something in the same central historic neighborhood, but more affordable. He highly... More

We stay here every summer and have found it to be clean with good water pressure in the shower and plenty of hot water. The hotel has a bit of character as it is a renovated Spanish colonial building. There is a pool on the first level and a sitting area on the second floor overlooking the central courtyard with...
