We loved our 3 night stay at the Hotel Julamis. The king size best was super comfortable and the nicest bed we slept in during our trip to Mexico. The breakfast everyday was delicious and different, set in a courtyard. The tequlia on the rooftop patio everynight was a great opportunity to interact with other guests, which made our stay feel...

We had a great time at this hotel and it was a perfect rest after our explorations of the Mayan sites and and the jungle of Chiapas and Tabasco. Alex is the perfect host and makes a 'wicked' breakfast in the small courtyard of the hotel (a converted colonial building), accompanied by opera and the the aroma of his breakfast...

We returned to the Julamis again this year. We have stayed in many of the rooms, eaten an incredible variety of Alex's famous breakfasts, drank his wine and tequila, followed his excellent suggestions of the newest and best restaurants Merida offers as well as the hottest taco stand in town and never been disappointed. Each morning over breakfast, guests exchange...

We spent several nights here and enjoyed it. Alex is a wonderful host, and nothing is too much trouble for him. Breakfast was outstanding, and the room was quiet and comfortable when we had figured out the fan and AC. Street parking was fine.

We were warmly welcomed by Alex on arrival. After showing us our room, he showed us to the rooftop where there is a refreshing jacuzi (cold water on a hot day - yes), comfortable lounge chairs and sofa and chairs in a bar area, and complementary tequila available all the time, as well as fresh beach towels. He gave us...

What a relaxed, friendly place…and an absolute bargain. There is complimentary tequila every evening for happy hour, a chef’s breakfast (not at all daunted by our vegetarian status, but happy enough to give us a mockingly-hard time about it), and fantastic ‘Chef Alex’ life stories whenever we spend time chatting. We were in the Corazon room, which is the best...

Mérida the city, is without doubt - spectacular! Hotel Julamis is indeed a rare gem of a Hotel. Truly a "one of a kind." Unique, quaint and charming... However, the real "Magic" was our brilliant host Alex and his lovely wife Mary. Gracious beyond measure. Guaranteeing that our stay with them would be the absolute highlight of our visit to...

Awesome Hotel at a great location with antique rooms in a colonial setting. The host Alex is an awesome person, also an amazing Chef. You also get to try the Mexican Tequila at the hotel every evening.

Hotel Julamis is a charming place located walking distance to many of the city's main attractions. You can also walk to many of the local bars. The owner Alex made us feel right at home. He too is as charming as this hotel. In the morning he would prepare us a nice breakfast of fruit, pastries, freshly squeezed orange juice....
