This hotel may look great in the brochures but our executive room No.9 was very dark and was also drain smelly when we first arrived. There were issues with the basin plug, loose wires under the basin, slow draining shower and the hose for the shower that had seen better days. Then we discovered that one of the external windows wouldn’t lock. Given that the room safe is minuscule and it is fixed to the wardrobe with what appears to be bubble gum, we were concerned about the semi-valuable items that wouldn’t fit in the safe! Fortunately the late night receptionist was unbelievably helpful, despite me ranting at her, and she fixed the window. She said that she left messages for the daytime staff but they did nothing to rectify any of the faults. One other issue that needs solving is how to plug in the coffee maker as the lead is too short!! Apart from being dark and overlooked by the small courtyard, Room 9 also has the issue of being next to the cleaning cupboard so it is quite noisy. Overall this is a centrally positioned hotel that may suit most needs but in my opinion it needs to up its game.…
This is a small boutique hotel. It has three swimming pools, a bar and offers breakfast. The rooms are chasing and clean and the staff is helpful and available. There is off street parking and you are in walking distance from restaurants, shops and cultural landmarks. We will return.
Best hotel ever. Fantastic atmosphere and excellent staff. Quiet and beautiful. Breakfasts were excellent. Lovely pool. Highly recommended if you want to be in the centre of Merida. Close to all the sights . Easy strolling to everything. Good for busing the Mayan antiquities.
We had a three night stay as part of a wider touring itinerary. The rooms were extremely spacious and comfortable with good quality fixtures and fittings and ac! The hotel feels very personal, and the staff were polite and attentive. The internal courtyard and pool is a real sanctuary from the busy city streets outside. A great base to explore Merida.
My wife, my son and I stayed there for a week during the tourist peek season during our first visit to Merida. The service was OUTSTANDING! The staff really made us feel at home. Special shout out to Albert, Armando, and Jesus. Nice, quaint, and relaxing hotel. Very well-maintained. Great location within walking distance of wonderful restaurants and cultural attractions. We will definetly consider going back.
My wife and I enjoyed our quiet stay at Hotel Hacienda Merida. The staff were extremely courteous and helpful. The morning breakfast was delicious. The historic hacienda, constructed in 1840, was beautiful. Our king room was AC cooled and clean. There is a pool on the property. Free secure parking is available. The mattress in our room was more firm than we would have preferred. This is an ideal location in Centro close to everything one would like to see when visiting Centro and within Walking distance. All in all, we were very glad we chose Hotel Hacienda Merida. We would definately return.
We arrived very late due to a flight delay. We were met by Armando and could have not had a warmer welcome and this set the tone for our whole four day stay. It is a lovely boutique hotel well positioned for the centre and for Paseo de Montejo, but what makes the place is the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. We were sorry to leave.
We spent a long weekend in Merida and absolutely loved Hotel Hacienda Merida. We were in a suite overlooking the pool. The room was very comfortable with plenty of space for a family of 3 to relax, including the spacious porch with two chairs and two hammocks. The grounds and pool are so peaceful once you walk through the front entryway - I could’ve spent the entire weekend right there. The breakfast is delicious - we opted for the Mexican breakfast most days. The cocktails and beers by the pool after a day of sightseeing really hit the spot. Last but not least, the staff was so gracious and accommodating. I highly recommend HHM for your next trip to Merida.
We had a great stay at this hotel, here are the pros and cons: Pros - location: walking distance to everything and in a beautiful area - the staff was incredibly nice and helpful - tv in the room had everything even Netflix - great value for money Cons - rooms are very small (this might vary but ours was REALLY small) - internet doesn’t reach the rooms so wifi needs to be used in the pool area - the pool does not look very clean to swim in
Stayed in for two nights and really enjoyed our visit. On arrival the staff were warm and friendly. We were welcomed with a refreshing glass of cucumber juice. We had a car with us so pulled up outside to unload our luggage and the were shown to the car parking located around the corner. This was slightly chaotic as the only place to pull up outside is a bus lane and we arrived late in the evening when traffic was at a peak. When we were leaving it wasn’t an issue as the street was much quieter. The room was big and spacious with a clean bathroom. The grounds of the hotel are stunning and really peaceful and quiet, you wouldn’t know you are in a city. There are some lovely dining options nearby and the main square is only a short walk away.
