My wife and I enjoyed our quiet stay at Hotel Hacienda Merida. The staff were extremely courteous and helpful. The morning breakfast was delicious. The historic hacienda, constructed in 1840, was beautiful. Our king room was AC cooled and clean. There is a pool on the property. Free secure parking is available. The mattress in our room was more firm than we would have preferred. This is an ideal location in Centro close to everything one would like to see when visiting Centro and within Walking distance. All in all, we were very glad we chose Hotel Hacienda Merida. We would definately return.
We arrived very late due to a flight delay. We were met by Armando and could have not had a warmer welcome and this set the tone for our whole four day stay. It is a lovely boutique hotel well positioned for the centre and for Paseo de Montejo, but what makes the place is the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. We were sorry to leave.
We spent a long weekend in Merida and absolutely loved Hotel Hacienda Merida. We were in a suite overlooking the pool. The room was very comfortable with plenty of space for a family of 3 to relax, including the spacious porch with two chairs and two hammocks. The grounds and pool are so peaceful once you walk through the front entryway - I could’ve spent the entire weekend right there. The breakfast is delicious - we opted for the Mexican breakfast most days. The cocktails and beers by the pool after a day of sightseeing really hit the spot. Last but not least, the staff was so gracious and accommodating. I highly recommend HHM for your next trip to Merida.
We had a great stay at this hotel, here are the pros and cons: Pros - location: walking distance to everything and in a beautiful area - the staff was incredibly nice and helpful - tv in the room had everything even Netflix - great value for money Cons - rooms are very small (this might vary but ours was REALLY small) - internet doesn’t reach the rooms so wifi needs to be used in the pool area - the pool does not look very clean to swim in
Stayed in for two nights and really enjoyed our visit. On arrival the staff were warm and friendly. We were welcomed with a refreshing glass of cucumber juice. We had a car with us so pulled up outside to unload our luggage and the were shown to the car parking located around the corner. This was slightly chaotic as the only place to pull up outside is a bus lane and we arrived late in the evening when traffic was at a peak. When we were leaving it wasn’t an issue as the street was much quieter. The room was big and spacious with a clean bathroom. The grounds of the hotel are stunning and really peaceful and quiet, you wouldn’t know you are in a city. There are some lovely dining options nearby and the main square is only a short walk away.
The HHM/VIP was just a random selection from a travel packaging company that I chose based on location and star ratings. We had really no preconceived ideas of what we were walking into. What we got was a delightful place to rest and relax after daily excursions to ruins or within the city center of Merida. Breakfast began the day in a calm, peaceful manner, starting with the French press coffee. The service and food were impecable! The hotel is very clean, and the swimming pool area allowed us to stretch out and listen to the birds' symphony. Stay at this hotel. It will be a part of a great Merida experience.
If you are coming to Merida and want to stay in the central area, Hotel Hacienda Merida is the way to go! The rooms are spacious and clean. The manager, Alberto, was kind and attentive to our needs. We even received a call from hotel staff once we arrived in our rooms to ask if we needed water or other items. After spending the day out in the city, we were able to come back and take a swim in the pool which was refreshing. The hotel was also within walking distance of many restaurants and Paseo Montejo. Loved it here!
I cannot say enough about this charming oasis in the beautiful city of Merida. My husband and I spent three nights here in September and every moment was wonderful. The property is located near several historic squares and you can walk to all sorts of restaurants, parks and shopping areas. Both the accommodations and breakfast were excellent, and we enjoyed dining outdoors on the patio near the pool. Because we visited during the pandemic, we were also very pleased to note that sanitizing, maskwearing and other relevant protocols were observed. Alberto (the hotel manager) was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and patient and made our stay even better. We are definitely looking forward to returning!
A lovely quiet boutique hotel in the center of historic Merida, just a 5 minute walk from the central square. The rooms are quiet, spacious and there is a wonderful outdoor pool. The concierge Alberto is incredibly helpful with extensive knowledge of attractions in Merida as well as in the surrounding countryside. The man is a wonder and the hotel is a pleasure to stay in.
We had no expectations when we arrived, as this was booked as part of a tour. I have given this a top rating because I am judging it as a 3star+ hotel, which is what it is. The room is large and rustically decorated. The bathroom is large and the shower is powerful. Breakfast is simple but good. Nice coffee. What really makes this place is it’s position close to the centre and it is remarkably quiet. The whole staff are amongst the most friendly and helpful we have come across. Thanks to you all.
