We have been to Merida a few times over the years and our popular go-to hotel was booked up. We wanted something in the Santa Lucia area and Casa Lucia had a room available for our entire stay. I originally had booked 5 nights, leaving the last two nights open, but when we saw the room, we decided to extend our stay. The sidewalks and road on Calle 60 (and 47) are being resurfaced with pavers and we were concerned about construction noise. Fortunately, only faint and occasional drilling could be heard and we were able to enjoy the gardens, the pool and the comfortable seats outside our room (we were on the ground floor). The room was very spacious and airy and the beds are super comfortable. Rooms have original artwork by Merida artist, Lorena Medina – a nice touch. There are hammocks and rocking chairs by the pool and we made good use of these, especially in the evening, while enjoying the luminous pool, the water fountains and quiet music. The hotel has a grey and white cat, Camila, who entertained us with her occasional meow. In the morning you can hear parrots, doves, grackles and kiskadees. The staff, receptionists Berenice, Alex, and manager, Marta, were all helpful. We didn’t bother with the American breakfast, which is served in the restaurant by the hotel entrance. There are plenty of choices for coffee in the area (we liked Cafe Cafica … on Calle 58 between 49 and 47 for organic Veracruz coffee, and Santa Ana market is nearby for delicious apple bananas, papaya, and tortas de lechon (suckling pig). We enjoyed the cocktails and shareable appetizers at Soberana. We did not want to leave Casa Lucia. It was a pretty perfect hotel.

Spoke with sales, reception, administration, all had excuses and promises to call back...they were working on pricing, in meetings, etc. Left many messages, and never heard from anyone. Switched to a better property who quoted me a price, took my reservation and booking in 10 minutes.

Beautiful little hotel in the heart of the city. An oasis of calm and tranquility the huge rooms overlook a pretty garden with a pool area, tables and hammocks, fountains, trees and plants. The rooms are larger than average with two double beds, comfy chairs, loads of storage and a TV. Breakfast was included in our price, there was a good choice of traditional or European dishes all cooked to perfection. The gracious staff keep the place impeccably clean and are always on hand to help. The hotel is situated opposite a pretty square with bars and restaurants and is an excellent base for exploring the area. Please be aware the hotel does not have free parking- you can park for free a few blocks away but the car park is chargeable (around £10 a night)

We had a fabulous stay here. We were 3 generations of women, here in Mérida to see the Mayan ruins and explore this lovely city. The room was perfect, clean and temperature controlled. The pool is lovely and the general decor very pleasing. The staff are amazing. Berenice and Alejandro were great. Berenice assisted us in planning our tours. Each one exceeded our expectations. There are many restaurants nearby within walking distance. We explored shops and museums. Wish we had planned a few more days. Never got to see the many churches or to spend a day just relaxing. It was very hot. Weather in high 90’s. Not too humid. Would definitely recommend this hotel for family, couples, or solo traveler. It is a multi National city, tourists from all over the globe. We felt very safe. And would stay here again!

So many good things about this hotel. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful. The location, large rooms, A/C and fans, comfy beds and a nice pool area with lots of lounging options felt like an oasis in the middle of the city. We appreciated having a water source to refill our water bottles and a fridge. We had plenty of hot water. The only negative was not having a fan in the bathroom, the tile in the shower gets incredibly slippery so you must wear your flip flops to be safe (as is customary in MX). Wished we had been there on a Sunday to use the bikes!

I would have given this hotel 5/5 because there are so many positive things about it. Friendly staff, big, clean rooms, comfortable beds, nice swimming pool and courtyard. Ideal location in the center of Merida. The restaurant was fantastic. The only negative aspect was the lack of communication amongst the hotel staff. There was a mix up in our room reservation, I had requested two beds and was told we would only get one then I asked for an additional bed and we ended up with three beds which is great but not what I was expecting. We were told we had the free bikes reserved for us for Sunday then on the day were told other guests had already booked them . It was difficult to charge meals to our room, this was a very convoluted endeavour. However, I would highly recommend staying here and the location is perfect.

I wouldn’t describe Casa Lucia as a boutique hotel, as they claim it to be. Sure, the room and bathroom are quite large, but the whole place lacks the charm which distinguishes it from any other hotel. Everything is really “standard” without any distinctive features. Plus the breakfast restaurant is open to the public, so it can be quite crowded or you may not find a table except outdoors…and when it rains….I would say there are surely more charming options in Merida

Dear guest, we appreciate your feedback. We are sorry about not meeting your expectations, Casa Lucía is one of the first boutiques in Mérida, and despite the fact there are now many boutiques, each one is singular in its own identity and services. Be sure we will take your comments into consideration for future improvements in our premises.

Nice hotel in a good area. Staff was very friendly. Breakfast was not included but El Molino Viejo half a block away has great coffee and breakfast. Our only problem was that it took 15 or 20 minutes to get hot water in the shower. This was true of all five rooms we had.

We stayed in Hotel Casa Lucia for New Year's Eve. It is directly across from Parque Santa Lucia in Centro, which party's all night long on New Year's Eve from approximately 9pm to whenever. Be aware that all the restaurants in the Parque close at 5pm to set up for the outdoor party, which is attended mainly by locals, with reservations and has live music. At the hotel, the staff were friendly, helpful, and check in was easy, they even have a person to help with your bags. The hotel was modern and beautiful. The room we stayed in had 2 queen size beds, abundant pillows and warm comforters, which were very comfortable. The room and bathroom was modern and very clean, as was the entire hotel. There are wood shutters on the windows and cross beams on the ceiling for an old world atmosphere. There was even a bag of chocolates in the frig, as a gift from the hotel. The party in the Parque was still going on at 3 a.m. and was loud. From the 2nd floor of the hotel we could see many firework displays in the distance. There is also a small restaurant in the hotel where we had a wonderful breakfast, but they also have lunch and dinner. Like all the restaurants in the Parque, there is also outdoor seating. Hotel Casa Lucia is the place to stay when visiting Merida, not only on New Year's Eve but whenever visiting Merida.
