Absolutely stunning boutique hotel.

The staff were really good people, made sure we had everything we needed but not intrusive. Very knowledgeable too and helped us with our tourist activities in the nearby area for Pyramids, Cenotes and the beach.

Fantastic breakfasts. Fresh fruits, eggs, coffee, fruit juices. Perfect start to the day.

The interior courtyard with pool is absolutely stunning, you can tell they really put a lot of effort into creating this beautiful space.

My wife & I aren't finished with Merida, there's still so much more to see and so many incredible restaurants to experience so we will absolutely stay here again

I really loved my stay here, this place really delivers.

As far as overall design, when you walk in it is immediately calming. There is a beautiful courtyard and pool and a patio with tables for eating meals. It feels like a little oasis in the city.

My room was absolutely fantastic. The design was modern but comfortable. The bed was extremely comfortable and I slept really well. The design aesthetic is just cool without being gimmicky at all.

The folks working there are lovely and so, so helpful. I wanted to book private transport to Uxmal and some cenotes and so I emailed them ahead of time and they arranged everything for a great price. The day of my trip they coordinated my departure and even gave me a box lunch to take with!

I would absolutely stay here again and I've already recommended the place to friends and family. I truly don't understand anyone who would give it less than a 5/5 rating.

This hotel is conveniently located just on the edge of the touristy centro, near the southern end of the paseo, and down the street from a few of Merida’s best restaurants. The service is friendly and helpful, and they have a parking arrangement nearby in a garage. The pool is small but lovely—we spent hours in it—enjoying the quiet of the courtyard out of the hubub of the street. We stayed in Room 1, which we recommend—large room, huge bathroom, high ceilings, all nicely appointed. Plenty of air conditioning. No noise problems. The plumbing is a little weird, but met our needs.

A beautiful, boutique hotel in the old town. About ten minutes walk to the Cathedral.
We had a room with doors opening onto the garden. There’s a small pool, nicely landscaped. A small restaurant area for breakfast.
It’s all very beautifully designed.
The biggest selling point is the staff. They couldn’t have been more helpful, including helping us arrange a trip to the Cenotes,
Particularly want to thank Maate who was so charming and helpful.
Only thing to be aware of is that there are no steps in to the pool so you have to be able to lift yourself out.

Very nice boutique hotel well located in the centre of the town. Guarded parking facilities
Lot of attention in the interior design : wooden furniture, flowers, outdoor pool area. Rooms are spacious, the outside shower is incredible. The full set is peaceful.
Very good breakfast, with a charming tableware.

The staff was very nice and so helpful during our stay. We highly recommend the hotel !

I can’t possibly gush enough about how wonderful this lovely hotel is. We had the pleasure of staying twice during our Yucatán vacation, and still that didn’t seem enough. The gorgeous property strikes the perfect balance of charm and hospitality, and the staff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable and frictionless. The rooms are well appointed, bathrooms clean (with ample space), and beds very comfortable. We will definitely return, hopefully soon.

What a nightmare this was. We were in Merida for two days for a wedding. Had booked Casa de las Palomas through Travel Republic, one of the Hotelbeds offshoot websites in the UK, with the rate fully paid in advance. Got to the hotel early afternoon (so around standard check-in time) and was disingenuously told that the room was in a separate building across the road and that I should check in there. This seemed odd as from the website there did not appear to be a separate building. Once across the road it seemed clear that it was not a separate building, but a separate hotel belonging to the Koox chain (Casona de las 3 Marias) of clearly lower standard - no pool or outside space to speak of and the room I was shown did not even have a window.

Back to the CdlP reception I demanded an explanation and was told that either Koox or Hotelbeds had overbooked and that there was no room for us at CdlP, which was unacceptable as I had booked and PAID for a room there, not a dark hole somewhere else. As we were having this discussion, to add insult to injury, two people walked in with suitcases and were checked in straight away. At which point I got quite irate, justifiably I think, as even in the event of an overbooking (which is unacceptable in and of itself), we were there first and should have been given the available room. The manager refused to provide a credible explanation, and only said, repeatedly, "they already had their room", whatever that meant. It later transpired that they were part of a larger party, some of whom had already arrived (which is clearly not an excuse).

I asked the manager to find me a hotel at least equivalent to CdlP and, reluctantly, she agreed to do it and started calling hotels around Merida. Many said they were fully booked immediately but with some I could see that the conversation lasted a bit longer. Whilst my Spanish is far from fluent, I could understand that with a couple they were discussing rates. After they had finished talking to them, they told me that both of these hotels had availability for only one night, not two, and started calling others. I Googled one of them, Casa Azul, and it did show as available for both nights on Expedia. I showed the manager this and she said that they must have overbooked as well. I became very suspicious at this and called Casa Azul directly who of course told me that they had availability for both nights. At which point, annoyed at the lies, I demanded to be put at Casa Azul. The manager flat out refused as the rate was higher than what I had paid. In the meantime, she had found availability at another hotel, which had very few reviews online and was further out of town. I said that was unacceptable and they should put me in Casa Azul as compensation for what seemed to be deliberate overbooking. Again she flat out refused so I asked to speak with Koox management. Initially she said there was no one I could speak to, which seemed improbable as Koox has several hotels around Mexico. After some exortation, the manager finally dialled a number. I asked her who I was going to be speaking to and she said 'the reservation line'. I kind of lost it then and, after some more heated discussion, she finally dialled another number (looks like there was a central manager after all). After explaining briefly what had happened to the Koox manager, she passed the phone to me. The Koox manager conveniently did not speak any English, so in my mangled Spanish I explained the overbooking and the poor (and dishonest) customer service I had received and demanded that they put me in Casa Azul or at least contribute to the difference. The guy not only refused, and refused to apologise, but actually berated me for being rude to the staff. I couldn't believe my ears and abruptly ended the conversation.

I then turned to the hotel manager and just asked for my money back so that I could get out of there. Amazingly, she said she couldn't give me the money as I had paid Hotelbeds. Truly Kafkaesque. I said I wasn't going to leave until they refunded me the money, which, as the innocent party here, was not an unreasonable request. After much toing and froing, they finally agreed to refund me the money, in cash, at a disadvantageous exchange rate. I took it as I just wanted to leave and went to Casa Azul instead, which was very pleasant with excellent service.

The whole thing lasted over two hours and ruined our first afternoon in Merida (we were only there for two days). Staff had been abysmally unhelpful throughout, brazenly lying to me several times. Koox management was even worse. I have already complained to Hotelbeds and will also complain to the MexicanTourism Board.

We later heard that Koox routinely overbook sending spill-over to nearby properties and that some guests had, like us, refused to stay (the rest must just get ripped off). They certainly gave the impression of a thoroughly unprofessional cowboy outfit. I will certainly avoid them like the plague in the future.

I see reviews below are generally positive so it seems that the hotel is fine, if you get to stay in it, which, it seems, is not guaranteed even if you have already paid for your room in advance.

We booked this small boutique hotel based on the previous reviews on Tripadvisor, and also its price and location. We really found the Perfect Place for our stay.
The check-in was quick and friendly, and our room on the 2nd floor was much more than we expected: large and well appointed, very comfortable with a King size bed, soft linens and an outdoor shower to be remembered for years!
We kept the double doors to the balcony open most times, enjoying the breeze.
A good advantage was the free parking on the hotel's parking lot located a block away. You get the key from front desk to self- park.
We had a nice breakfast (eggs to be prepared at your choice, excellent tropical fruits, coffee and baked goods) for $10 a person at the hotel; and we had one of our best meals in Mexico at the "Marganzo" restaurant located 4 blocks away after listening a recommendation by the front desk staff.
The hotel is about 5 blocks from downtown historic Merida, close to all interesting sites. Expect heavy traffic if you arrive during peak weekdays hours.
There might be other hotels close by but I will come back again to this one since it's like an oasis in the middle of the busy downtown Merida: friendly staff, beautiful contemporary "mexican" decor style, very comfortable beds, nice pool, awesome outdoors shower, affordable fare and free parking. You can't beat that!
