Without question this is one of the nicest, most pleasant, most unusual places we’ve ever stayed. Patrick and Wendell have done an extraordinary job renovating their property — but it doesn’t stop there. Their warmth, unfussy service, attention to detail, and genuine concern for your well-being, put Villa Tievoli in a class by itself. We arrived as strangers having never been to Mérida before, but left as friends. How many places can you say that about?
Lovely house with spacious room and bath. Breakfast delicious both re food and ambiance. Host incredibly helpful on all things Merida including restaurants, day trips, museums or anything else. Bravo.
Very beautiful place ... so quiet and relaxing, very delicious breakfast! And the best services ever ... near to Puerto Progreso with a beautiful beach, Chichenitza beautiful arqueoloyical.. I’d been in There many times .. the owners are very nice people they make you feel like you are in home... This is a great place if you want to scape from the noisy city 🌃
The Tievoli Villa bed and breakfast is a real gem! We thoroughly enjoyed exceptional breakfasts served with flair by Patrick. Our hosts Wendell and Patrick were a pleasure to meet and chat with in the mornings before heading out to explore Merida. We even learned everyday phrases in Maya! There's so much to see, do, and experience in Merida, but if you need a break from the hectic activity of the city streets you can unwind in the cool, quiet of the Tievoli courtyard. And as well, refresh from the heat of the day in the pool. (Although we differed in opinion from Wendell on what is considered a hot temperature!) Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable with a great bathroom. The personal artistic touches and the charming decor of the Villa reflect the welcoming and friendly attitude of the hosts.…
Not only are these guys characters, but they add character to their place; convenient location; lovely establishment, well decorated; perfect outdoor setting for breakfast; Patrick goes out of his way, making breakfast and entertaining and enjoyable experience. Highly recommended.
The best hosts ever. It is in the heart of the historic district yet still quiet. The hosts are lovely people and even waited up for me to arrive. The breakfast and coffee are delicious. The decor is elegant without being pretentious; I felt very much at home. I have traveled to Merida for four years in a row, and The Villa Tievoli is the best place to stay because of the location, price and the services. The massage therapist, Adan, is fantastic and is a massage teacher and the best I have found in Merida. Also, the pool has a swim-up bar!
My daughter and I took our Spring Break at "The Villa Tievoli" and are so glad we did! First off, the name backwards says it all " I love it"!! The proprietors Patrick and Wendell are an amazing fountain of knowledge. They know the town history and the quick ways to get around the city. Also they can provide you with a walking map and advise you on where to go, what to see and where to eat. The Villa is only a few short blocks away from the main square and from there you can continue your adventure. The rooms themselves are large and with views of either the city street or small patio also with street view. ALL rooms have A/C, which is a must. Our room "called the Red room" had a King size bed, which was comfortable. The bathroom was also large and the walk in rain shower was wonderful. Library seems to be the conversational room, while the outside courtyard was nice and cool area to also talk. The Pool is beautiful with all the fountains and blue/teal tile lined walls, plenty of lunge chairs to relax. Taking a dip was VERY refreshing for weary travelers. Breakfast is serviced at your leisure usually 7am-10am. The service IS EXCELLENT! Patrick serves it in the courtyard, under covered area with a wonderful, ivy lined water fountain, trickling in the background. Your breakfast will be on beautiful pattern bone china, a different pattern every day. My daughter and I felt like we were in a 5 STAR HOTEL. Breakfast was yummy and perfect for our busy tourist schedule. Although the treatment was 5 STAR it felt more like a comfortable family friendly setting. With both host making us feel at home and talking about Merida and what we can do while there. There wasn't a question that we asked about that they didn't have answers for. Please if you have a chance visit The Villa Tivoli and feel welcomed! Enjoy the photo's.…
We had 4 nights at this beautiful B&B in Merida. There is a very elegant reception area and staircase, a pretty patio and lovely pool area. Our room was tastefully decorated with a huge bed, a good sized en-suite bathroom with walk in shower. WiFi and air conditioning both worked well. But what makes The Villa Tievoli special are the owners Wendell and Patrick. What a warm welcome we received on arrival. They were helpful with suggestions and we had a lively chat each morning. Breakfast is quite an event, with Patrick (professionally dressed) preparing a different breakfast each morning (excellent fruit, yogurt and good coffee), and all served on a different set of beautiful China every day. We THOROUGHLY enjoyed our stay here.
Lovely clean B&B that is run by true professionals and you can tell ! Excellent service, cooling pool and walking distance to .everything. Do yourself a favour and rather than book one night stays at all the great things there is to visit - stay here and let Wendell and Patrick organize day trips out to see the sites. They can also organize in house massages and mani pedis !
All the good things already stated are still true! This review deserves to be longer but I decided I needed to submit something soon. The hosts are fantastic. They are fun and informative. Wonderful ambiance at this wonderfully restored colonial. Great beds and bathrooms. Perfect location. Great value!
