This boutique hotel is an architectural jewel. I paid a visit on July, with my husband and a friend from far away, who was impressed with both the building and the service. The main gate comes directly to a small, shady square. It’s façade has delicate decoration that resemble a frosted cake. Crossing the door leads to an impressive double stairway with a big chandelier that the Phantom of the Opera would approve; reception is on the second floor. A central courtyard serves as restaurant for breakfast. For dinner, tables are set outside, in the park. Both have live soft music, that alternates songs in English and Spanish, The rooms and suites surround the courtyard, in two stories. In the back there’s another courtyard that now houses the pool, and more rooms. All furniture is antique, both inside the rooms and the corridors, but the beds and bathrooms are new and comfortable. The Air Conditioned works perfectly. Even though the manor is in the heart of the city, 2 blocks away form the Cathedral, the sound proof windows make it a peaceful haven. Service is impecable, with waiters next to your table and housekeeping folding towels in animal shapes. The owner, dressed in white linen and Panama hat, greeted all guests, welcoming to his great-grandfather family house. Our breakfast was included and we really enojoyed it the first morning. But the second we had a very early flight, so the front desk called the night before to offer box lunches. To our surprise, the owner himself was awaken at 4:30 to hand in the box lunches, offer freshly squeezed orange juice and say goodbye. I´ve been telling all my friends to come to this hotel on their next trip to Mérida.

We stayed in this hotel over the Christmas-New Years period and it was fabulous. The room was big and elegant. The food was incredible - breakfast was provided and it was not a stale buffet but a fresh fruit plate and the choice of incredible dishes (eggs in numerous dishes, chicken enchiladas, tacos, etc.). But most incredible was the staff. The restaurant wait staff Eliseo and William were so gracious and helpful! Umberto at the front desk was always available to help. But most stunning to me was the cleaning crew - I never saw them! My idea of a great hotel is one where the maid is not waiting outside the door making me feel guilty for sleeping in. This was a great hotel and I highly recommend it!

Mansion Merida lived up to every expectation we had for a gorgeous getaway! It is a beautiful colonial mansion, the place is spotless the beds are comfy, the rooms are large and gorgeous. The food is some of the best I’ve ever had, brunch is lovely and they have live music Fridays and weekends. The service is amazing, the staff and the owner are very helpful, friendly and go above and beyond to make you feel at home, it was like staying in your own private luxury mansion. The location is very good, within walking distance of many attractions. The main plaza is a block away, there’s a Starbucks next to the hotel and you can exchange money across the hotel. This is simply one of the very finest small boutique hotels that we have ever had the pleasure to experience.
