2021 Travelers' Choice Best of the Best
Each of Mansion Merida's fourteen newly restored and redecorated guest suites are different in configuration and decor. Yet they all feature Merida-style extremely high ceilings (ranging in height from 22 feet to 16.5 feet), and smooth, colorful floors of crafted geometric-design tiles, an art form unique to Yucatan. This architectural land decor combination provides an airy and cooling effect. The handcrafted meticulously restored mahogany double-door windows feature soundproof outer glass. They open to wrought-iron balconies overlooking Parque Hidalgo or the adjacent 17th-century (1618) Iglesia del Jesus.

We loved this place. The mansion has about 14 rooms. We stayed in the Bohemia and Chrystal suite. These are on the first floor, these are original rooms, all of the upstairs is fairly new. The pool is nice size, breakfast was included and really good also we liked that breakfast is available from 8 to 12 so you are not rushing at all. The rooms are really nice and super clean, comfortable beds and super soft sheets and towels, you don't see that very often anymore. staff is super friendly and amazing food the bar has music on the weekend and we loved it. You will not be disappointed. Access to most shopping and historic places from walking distance, Paseo Montejo is about 10 minutes away in car.

Everything about this hotel is wonderful. If you like a gorgeous original structure with original art and beautiful furniture that fits the era when this villa was built, then you will love it here. You walk into a stunning courtyard filled with gorgeous vegetation and a beautiful working fountain.  The hallways have stunning original tile with Persian rugs on them, oriental vases and beautiful furniture. Also, because this hotel is owned by the grandson of the man who owned it originally, he has taken special care to ensure that all the art is unique and pretty.  I want to give a shout out to all of the staff but especially Noe who went out of his way to make sure I was able to do all the things I wanted to do in Merida. Every staff member I met was sweet and genuine. Of course, I am always impressed by the staff at hotels like the Four Seasons or the Ritz Carlton but it is so nice here to interact with the kind and shy staff who really just want the guests to you have a great time and get a taste of the city they love and are proud of. There are nice little touches at this hotel. For example, every afternoon a staff member brings some delicious and unique sweet. My first day here there were various candies and chocolates which were so interesting to taste and so creative. Today, a homemade carrot cake with rich and delicious icing was brought to my room.  Additionally, the breakfasts each morning are wonderful with local and international offerings.  It’s lovely to sit in the outdoor courtyard with the sound and beauty of the central fountain. Since I’ve been here, the owner has been around and I think he wants to ensure that everything here is perfect. He’s a very nice and classy man who stopped by to say hello and make sure I was having a great time and, of course, I am having a great time. This hotel sits in an absolutely perfect part of the city. It is in a beautiful square with coffee shops and restaurants all around.  The bedrooms are enormous with very high and decorative ceilings. Also the bathrooms are very large and exquisitely done. I think with my favorite physical aspect of this hotel are the gorgeous and original tile floors. Their colors and design will blow you away. The only reason that I could think that anyone would not enjoy this hotel is if he or she demands tons of staff running around with a fancy spa, gym and other amenities that you would find in a large upscale hotel. Come here and feel like you are staying in one of your wealthy and aristocratic friend’s house. You won’t be disappointed.

We are delighted to know that your experience at Mansion Merida Hotel Restaurant was great. Thank you for sharing these kind comments. I would like to comment that the pasta tiles are handmade, and it takes time to make each one depending of its design. All rooms are decorated with different designs and in combination with the rest of the room´s decoration. Walls are beautifully handmade painted by Calocho, a Yucatecan artist. The wooden doors are restored, originally from XIX century. I will be pleased to share your great comments with Noe and the rest of the team. We can not express a better the description of Mansion Merida Hotel, as you already have done. We are very proud to be the best hotel in town and that our clients always live a unique experience staying with us.

We spent 3 nights here in Suite 203. From the moment we walked in, I loved this place. It sits on a tidy little park with a Starbucks, right in the middle of the lovely historical area of Merida. The mansion is 14 rooms surrounding two gorgeous courtyards. One courtyard has a restaurant and the other has a really nice pool. Our room had 20+ foot ceilings, gorgeous antique furniture and a huge bathroom. Outside our room - outside every room - is a sitting area like a living room, all overlooking the courtyard filled with trees, flowers and a gurgling fountain. Each day, a plate of treats was delivered to our room - cookies, cakes, fruits. When we sat by the pool, someone brought over two scoops of homemade ice cream. At breakfast, the owner comes over and says hello and chats a bit. I felt like I was staying at the home of a rich uncle and I was very pleased. Air conditioning was the best we encountered on our Yucatan trip.
