Through a series of unfortunate events we ended up staying here for one night. We had a "luxury room", which was nothing of the sort. There's nothing wrong with this place, it's just that they charge more than most places in merida for what they offer. Also there was no hot water. Pretty bad given that we were the only people staying there. I wouldn't go back. The location is quite far from the zocalo and the staff, while friendly, could have been more helpful to their only guests. More

My husband and I first stayed at this hotel 3 months ago while on a group tour through the Yucatan. The group was originally booked at the Hotel Aragon around the corner, but after being shown our rooms at the Hotel Aragon we quickly ask to move. Fortunately, we were moved to the Hotel Meridano and fell in love with the staff and our room #111. We were so taken with the place that we went back a couple of weeks ago and ask for our same room. Luckily, it was available and we enjoyed another 3 nights in Merida.

It is not a fancy hotel, but it is extremely clean, has free wi-fi, breakfast is included, and the staff is very friendly. Plus it is a fairly short walk to the Merida's main Independence Plaza. I also, believe that it is quieter than most hotels since it is not on one of the major streets. The street noise in Merida can be loud at all hours of the day and night.
