Recently I stayed in the Fiesta Americana Merida for one week. I want to thank the wonderful staff for making my stay memorable. The hotel is lovely, the location is perfect but most of all it is the employees who make this property special. My heartfelt thanks go especially to Andrea, and her co-workers Karen, Maria, and Estefania. I will return soon! Un millón de gracias al staff de este lindo hotel pero especialmente a Andrea por su amabilidad y apoyo!
The signage to enter hotel is unclear. There is nobody to greet you at the door. We waited 20 minutes to check in to the hotel. We wanted to order drinks and they stop serving at the bar at 6pm but said we could order if we sat in restaurant. We waited 10 kinutes to be seated and another 20 minutes to order before we got up and walked out without ordering.
We had to spend the night in Merida before catching the early morning flight to Houston. Rather than stay closer to El Centro as we have done in the past, we decided to stay at the FA. We had an excellent stay. Our room was clean and well maintained. I liked the wide, well lit hallways. We have eaten at the FA in the past with friends, so we went out for dinner. We had the Saturday night buffet at the La Arboleda across Avenida Colon. There are numerous excellent restaurants within a ten minute walk. We had an easy time catching an early morning cab to the airport.
This hotel is Beautiful! We had seen the pictures online but it is even better in person. Our room was comfortable and clean. The staff was helpful and polite. We speak minimal spanish and it was not a problem to communicate, except for when my husband was trying to get them to put the american football game on in the bar. But, that's ok. The location is ideal. We were close enough to walk to Ku'uK for dinner and getting ubers around town was a breeze. I enjoyed the pool and hot tub one evening as well, which wasn't crowded at all. I had the hot tub all to myself! An added bonus is the shopping center on the lower level. We would absolutely stay here again!
We normally stay at a smaller property downtown but the Fiesta Americana was more convenient as we were arriving on an ADO bus at Paseo 60 late in the evening. The hotel was spotlessly clean. The room was nice, beds comfortable and amenities good. The room was also quiet. It is in a reasonable location, right on Paseo Montejo which has restaurants, bars, shops etc. It is also a block from Paseo 60 which also has a good collection of restaurants and shops. Checkin was straightforward and easy. We managed to obtain a very good price, lower than the usual rates posted for this hotel. We did not use the restaurant or bar so cannot comment on them. All in all, a good place to stay in Merida, expecially if you have limited Spanish and want a place that is similar to a US or Canadian hotel.…
