Beautiful place. From the street, you do not imagine how this looks like. The swimming pool really helps in the hot summer hours. Quiet and rather close to the center. The staff is really welcoming and helpful. Parking easy in the neighbourhood. Recommended.

We stayed 4 nights and it was exactly what everyone said. It's clean, it's absolutely beautiful and the staff is very nice. We booked the 'Marie Antoniette' room. It's a nice size and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom is a good size, and there was plenty of hot water. We ate the breakfast every morning. There were 6 different egg dishes to choose from. It was good... simple but good. It definitely served it's purpose. And, since it's all cooked to order, you can get exactly what you want! We didn't get a chance to swim, but the pools are beautiful! There's also a community fridge and the "honors bar". We used the fridge to store water and some leftovers from a great meal we had at La Chaya Maya!! On the negative side (I don't consider these negatives.. but some might): 1. some rooms are on the 2nd floor. If this is a concern, when booking just confirm your room is on the 1st floor. The shower is open in the bathroom. Not a big deal for me at all, but it could be a concern for someone. The location is about 6 to 8 blocks from the city center (more than ok with me), and you have to park on the street (again, this wasn't a problem b/c there was plenty of space and it's a very safe, quiet neighborhood). I only share those things b/c I know some people will see them as a concern. But overall, it's hard to say anything bad about this place. It was small, beautiful, quiet and the staff helped us with everything we needed. If you like small, charming places that are really peaceful, stay here. If you like big urban center type hotels, this is not the place for you. To the staff--GREAT JOB!

El Palacito Secreto exceeded all of our expectations! The grounds were stunning, room was beautiful, and the staff was extremely helpful. Luis was super easy to communicate with and helped to organize car services to and from the airport. Breakfast service was wonderful and the pool(s) were a great way to beat the Yucatan heat. The only thing to note is that the 10 person house is considered separate and guests staying in the house are not allowed at the hotel. We were with a large group and half of us were at the house and the other half at the hotel. The hotel staff asked any of the guests that were staying at the house to leave the hotel grounds. This was not relayed to us at the time of booking and was a bit frustrating. Had we known we would have all stayed at the hotel.

It was indeed a unique experience. The service, attention, cleanliness and the place are worth it. It is a place that is very well located very close to Paseo Montejo and the facilities and services are a surprise. The cost-benefit ratio is ideal.

My girlfriend and I stayed at the El Palacito for 6 nights and enjoyed every minute of it. The room was exceptionally clean with great amenities. The breakfast options were great each morning and the common areas were well taken care off. We will definitely stay here again during our next visit to Merida.
