We stayed here for two days, the place is nice but nothing special, hosts are not very present but kind, we met the owner at our arrival and saw her again when we left. We had the double room with private bathroom, it was clean and well kept, hot water and nice sheets with a nice patio in front of...

I loved my stay at El Jardin! Elsy, the owner, is so nice and welcoming. She felt like a house mother. My room was very clean, and it was nice to have air conditioning in the room (it costs only a little extra but it's worth it!!). The hostel also has WiFi! The location is great! Close to el Centro...

Loved my stay here. Cheapest spot if you want air con, and Elsy was very warm and helpful during our stay. Made me feel at home! A little farther then some of the other hotels I saw closer to the central district, but still only about a 10 minute walk. I loved that we had fresh fruit and coffee for...

The location is very close to the downtown area. The owner is a really nice lady. Breakfast is included (fruit and some bread). The garden is really beautiful and peaceful. The rooms are basic. There was no AC (we had a ceiling fan) so it got pretty hot in our room. Apart from that, we had a really good experience...

We stayed in the privat room. Spacious, clean (incl. the bathroom), comfortable and silent at night. A few blocks from the ADO-station and the center of town. 10 min walk to restaurants. Stores are closer. Basic breakfast (toast, fruits and coffee, no milk or tee). Hot shower is possible and the wifi fast and stable (uploading is slower). The staff...

Really really enjoyed our stay here. It doesn't look like much from the street but inside it has a warm homely feel. We stayed in one of the upstairs garden rooms, really bright and breezy. Staff are really friendly, welcoming and informative. Breakfast is basic (fresh fruit, cinnamon toast, coffee) but enough to start your day. For our 2 weeks...

Very warm and kind of magical place. Barry who runs the place during the afternoon and eve is a very kind and gentle soul. He knows his way around the city and generously spread his knowledge and tips around if he was asked. He clearly enjoys his work there. Elsie, the owner, is also very warm and welcoming. At the...

A wonderful place to stay. The rooms are clean, the patio garden area is comfortable. The breakfast is generous and varies every day, based on fruits and toast...but the grace and warmth of Elsie, the owner and Barry, the receptionist/concierge is beyond compare and sets the tone of true hospitality in a family style setting and encourages guests to socialize...

Stayed 4 night here in a double room with fan (no AC). Was welcomed by a helper speaking good English (he's a Canadian). Few days here were nice, except in the morning the room gets a bit stuffy which I had to open the door for better air flow, but this also invites mosquitoes. Have never stayed in any other...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Centrally located in the heart of Merida´s historical center, El Jardin is located just 3 short blocks from the main Zocalo. The ambiance of El Jardin, as described by our many repeat guests, is like an oasis, a peaceful refuge where one feels far from the excitement and activity of the city center although conveniently that´s exactly where we are!
