Hostel Zocalo, is one of the best hostels that I have been visiting in my long trip. This is excellent hostel, with excellent conditions, fast WiFi, hot water in showers, in the dorm this is 1 bed, and not 2 together. The breakfast is include, and it's amazing, lots of fruits, vegetables, and omelet and pankaeks. The persons here are... More

It was a great experience as you are at the heart of the city center. The people are nice, the place has plenty of interesting people to meet and they welcome you with a fresh drink! The most representative places are the Cathedral of San Ildefonso, Sorbetes Colón, and the local food around the Zocalo. If you go to the... More

There a different vibe in this place. All are very especial and uniq. The drinks were the best. Good place to invite the fiends and do the private dinner too. The only thing that I rate was the music. The radio was turn on a lot of high volume. I recommend.

I loved this hostel. Breakfast was amazing - cerelas, fruits, juices, pancakes, eggs...whatever you can wish for and eat. Location is amazing - on the main square, close to all best spots to visit in Merida. I stayed in female dorm room and bed was comfortable. Since there is no AC, just fans, and nights in Merida can get hot,... More

Pro's: location central Breakfast included and was plentiful Held our luggage on our last day Some staff were helpful The staff were cold/rude and unprofessional, there was this one boy who had a constant sneer on his face and barked out the answers to our questions. We were trying to learn Spanish not having had the opportunity before and the... More

The Hostel is in an excellent location right on the main square, provides a lovely breakfast in the morning. The rooms and communal areas were all clean!! However the mens toilets dont have doors only curtains, which makes pooping a little uncomfortable or brushing your teeth while someone else is pooping. By reserving a room online before we arrived the... More

I just came from Merida, Yucatan in Mexico. I stayed in "El Zocalo Hostal." The best location in Merida, just in the main square of the city. I paid 150 pesos (around 9 dollars) for sharing a dorm with other 4 guys. The building is a well maintained colonial house with high ceilings and colorful walls. The personal working in... More

Great little no frills place in the heart of everything in Merida. Rooms are basically just beds and not much else but the staff and the vibe is great. Breakfast involves helping yourself to cereals and fresh fruit while a member of staff is on hand to make omlettes. Would recommend. Wifi is a bit strange, there are 4 account... More
