The casa Maya hotel in Isla Mujeres was developed by owner señor Jose Lima as a Mayan town with its palm thatched bungalows around a coconut palm garden and 100 yards of beachfront. It has 22 rooms and offers a very Mexican, very Mayan atmosphere. It has a wide collection of reproductions of the best Mexican painters like Diego Rivera and his wife Frida Kahlo, a large collection of books about Mexican art, architecture, Mayan culture and history and señor Lima has now converted his hotel into a bed and breakfast hotel on the beach

I am a traveler that likes to experience the culture and food when I travel. Villa Kiin is located right on the beach. It is quaint and very cozy. They have locked the gates so you do have to go around the office to get to the beach, and this was due to non hotel guests using the hammocks and also for the security of the contents of the rooms, as the direct beach location gets very busy. The rooms are clean and not fancy but very comfortable, especially for their price point.

A quiet escape on the beautiful north shore of the island. Agree with another traveler that there were pros and cons to our stay: Pros: beach front location, walk ability to town, clean rooms, balcony hammocks, quaint and pretty grounds. The cove just outside the hotel is full of fish, no snorkeling gear needed. Cons: lacking hospitality (most hotels have a different attitude about providing service to promote tourism that seemed to be missing here), no beach access through hotel gate, no coffee pot or hair dryer in room, missed having a pool. A small shared kitchen and reading room was available (and had WiFi which wasn’t in the rooms) but it was not air conditioned and the kitchen was not maintained or cleaned.

We stayed at the Hotel Villa Kiin not expecting much and it was great took a while for the hot water to make it to our room but nonetheless the bed was comfortable the room was as displayed and very reasonable. Will be back.

After a week and a half in Riviera Maya this was the authentic beach break we needed. Ocean front (therefore potentially quite windy) property. Check in was a little confusing, but we were taken care of soon enough. The room was very basic, clean and comfortable. Some days the shower was hot, some days not. The unit we rented had a mini fridge, and a private porch with a cool tub and hammock, and really, that was all we needed.

Stayed for a week. Nice little place you needed to run water for a while to get a hot shower but still was hot. Clean rooms comfy beds better than the all inclusive we stayed at in Cancun. Lots of floatys for beach beautiful little court yard and right next to the beach. My paradise.
