We just returned home from Mia Reef and already can’t wait to go back. We stayed in a villa room with what we consider to be the best view. The staff are all amazing, friendly, helpful and want to make sure we had a good time. We, of course, had our favorite staff... Luis Arias

This was my 10th trip to Mexico but my 1st trip to Isla Mujeres and the Mia Reef Resort. Overall this resort was very good. The location as other reviews have stated is awesome, an Island on an Island. Tons of beach, shallow calm water, and pretty good snorkeling. I never had a

We enjoyed out stay at Mia. The food was very good. The staff was excellent. I liked that it was a smaller resort so you could meet people and see them again to develop bond if you wanted to. Also, the staff remembered you. The water is extremely shallow, so if you have small

The wait staff was excellent!! There are some exceptional employees in the restaurant. Miller, Didi, and a gentleman that name starts with a G. On the beach Dani was over the top. He kept us hydrated and every need met! He also speaks English very well so communication was easy!

You are being a snob. In fact a huge one! You have to realize that not all people can afford a Five star resort or maybe even a 3 star resort but for them its still a great vacation. In fact, it might be the first vacation they may have even taken. Does that make it any less special for them? No! With that said I have stayed at 5 star resorts (many times) and yes the food is better (still not as good as getting off a resort) but I don't lose sight that not everyone can afford it. I look at the MIA as "great" for what you pay. If your expectations are for this to be the Ritz in Grand Cayman than that's your fault not the hotels. The food was perfect for what I paid. Did I eat every meal there? - not at all because I wanted a good meal like Limon or Rolandis but I got what I expected at the MIA for the price. The drinks I do disagree with you on. They have top shelf liquor IF you ask for it and if you are tipping. I drank top shelf the entire week there. Would I go back? Yes if the group I was with wanted to return. When I usually go do I do all inclusive? No because the food is not what I want but expect that for what I am paying.

Book a transfer from the airport to the Puerto Juarez ferry terminal (major travel sites offer this and some include the ferry tickets in your transfer rate). You will take the Ultramar ferry to the main port on Isla. From there, grab a cab (they are all over) and get to the hotel for around $5-6. You will love it on Isla!
