We stayed at Play Media Luna over Christmas this past year and had a wonderful time. The hotel is small and intimate, right on the beach. We had the third floor jacuzzi suite that had the jacuzzi right on the balcony and enough room for two beach chairs so we could relax and read in the mornings. The staff at...

My wife and I stayed in the hotel for 4 nights at the end of December 2010 for our honeymoon vacation. We paid 145 dollars a night for standard room and we were very disappointed. The room was very old and ugly. The continental breakfast is very poor. It includes bread, marmalade, hot and cold beverages and jam (nothing beyond...

Walking in the lobby, you could see the ocean right away! We stayed in the standard room for 2 nights and those were simple and very comfortable. Then for 3 nights we stayed in the Jacuzzi Suite on the third floor on the north side of the hotel. The view was incredible from that room and the large balcony! Every...

My husband and I stayed at Hotel la Playa de Media Luna because a lot of the reviews noting how laid back and relaxing it was. Everything about it was just okay: the room, the service, the pool, the cleanliness, the location, etc. I did feel that the hotel website gave an inaccurate portrayal of what the hotel actually looks...

You can't beat the location. Walk along the beach just 3 minutes and you are on North Beach with restaurants and beachside bars, and it's a very short walk to the heart of town. The beach in front of the hotel is good for walking, but not for swimming. You don't need it though, since the pool is on the...

The Good: Excellent view, good location. The Bad: Construction. The workers seemed annoyed everytime they had to stop what they were doing in order to allow us to get to the hotel in our golf cart. This is part of life but I would recommend asking if this road construction is completed prior to getting a room. The Ugly: Nothing...

We stayed at Playa la Media Luna about five years ago and wanted to return again for our vacation this year. Especially with the $40 per night rate that the hotel has on its Rusticas Rocas rooms. They don't have a beach view, but you just can't beat $40 per night. The hotel is wonderful. It's quiet, never crowded (at...

We stayed in the Rustic Roca room #2 for four nights. I chose Playa La Media Luna because we were on a tight budget and because of it's location. It is located on a dirt road in a very quiet area approximately 1/4 mile from Hidalgo street. The room was simple and clean with working AC, safe deposit box, fridge...

We absolutely loved this small island and plan on returning. We actually canceled one night in Playa del Carmen because we did not like it and came to Isla early. We had splurged on a balcony room w/ the hot tub which I would not do again. It was during the busy season so the rooms were expensive as it...
