Its not trying to be a five star people so get over it. Its a solid 3 star with a fantastic location. If your looking for resort style service, go to a resort. If you want a quiet simple beach hotel you'll love it.

I stayed at this Hotel for four nights and everything was very good. The best thing: the view from the balcony (free hammock included)! You can see and hear the ocean and the waves every day and night! Nice pool area where you can have some drinks and sunbeds for free. Everything was clean, the staff was friendly and helpful....

We stayed at Playa La Media Luna Hotel on our last night in Isla Mujeres after staying for almost a week at the opposite end of the island. It's located on the north end of the island, which is the busiest, has the nicest beaches and the most to do. The hotel is tucked away in a weird spot, sitting...

My wife and I recently spent 5 nights here at the end of a month in Belize and southern Mexico. This hotel is a quiet little gem. We booked a garden view room for $90 US per night. The room was large with a coffee maker, fridge, and microwave. Nice big shower with hot water every time. Balcony with 2...

My husband and I were staying elsewhere. While out for a walk one morning we came across this hotel and fell in love with the half moon beach, which isn't over crowded with tourists, the pool over looking the beach and the hotel rooms over looking the beach. We stayed 4 nights and were super happy with our stay. Our...

I have been to Isla Mujeres many times and have always stayed at Hotel Secreto. I will continue to do so in the future. Media Luna could be four or even five star but only with some updates and improvements. For starters, hire a concierge! That's the easiest thing in the world. One guy hiding in the back behind a...

I expected something completely different for a 160 US a night - We wanted to book directly at the hotel and the Concierge told us on the phone to book via booking.com, it's easier he said - Concierge (Front Desk and office) is a mess - The entire hotel seem not to get any maintenance at all. I have seen...

Do you want a place to RELAX? Playa La Media Luna is just what you're looking for. Small, quaint, out of the main stream and hustle and bustle of 'tourist row', which is FULL of excellent restaurants and shops. Close enough to indulge, if desired, with only a VERY short walk away. No need for a car or other transportation,...

Nice location, but service is deplorable. The pictures online are deceiving. The hotel is under construction. We thought we were booked into one of the rooms in the older section, which has a tropical feel with large balcony, sitting area, and charm. Instead, we were put into a room in the newer section, which is surrounded by noise due to...
