    Doorway to your dreams
We visited Isla Muerjes for my birthday and originally booked at another hotel. When we arrived here for breakfast we decided to relocate to Casa De Los Suenos and we did not regret it. The view of the ocean from everywhere on the property is amazing. The rooms were clean, beds and pillows super comfy, air conditioning was very good and good hot water. The food and service at the restaurant was excellent and the staff treated us like family. On my birthday our waiter Gilmore played my requested song and we had a little dance party while dining on fresh caught lobster. Our every need was attended to by the staff, Carlos, Natalie and manager Chris made sure everything went smoothly with our required testing to return to the US, transportation and waiter Cash helped us set up snorkeling and gave suggestions for other excursions. The staff truly made our stay very special. The location is on the quieter side of the island and very close to Punta Sur which is a great place for sunset pictures. It is also very close to a few hidden gems like Captain Dulche's beach club and Mar-Bella restaurant and fish market..two great places not to be missed. With a golf cart you can get anywhere quickly or taxis are plentiful and inexpensive. You won't regret booking here.

This is the place to stay!
I spent hours reading reviews and agonizing over which hotel to choose. In the end, we stayed here and it was a home run! While I was there 8 days I checked out the other hotels I’d considered, just to be sure. Each visit confirmed that I found the best option for our budget and family. No need to keep searching, this is it. 1. Safe - we never worried about leaving personal items at dock area, no shady characters, just a nice mix of families and friend groups. 2. Comfy beds, soft sheets. Ice cold AC. Great sleep is key to a great vacay! 3. Delicious made to order breakfast, served until noon, is included in price. Great for late sleepers. Poblano omelette is amazing! Restaurant also cooks fish you catch, has excellent food of all kinds, if you choose to stay at hotel for the day. 4. Beautiful clean pool. Ocean access is so easy, walk down stairs and swim away, no sand. Paddle boards, kayaks, rope swing, snorkeling, cornhole, all free for hotel guests. 5. Breathtaking views from pool, from room, at restaurant, hotel lobby. Wow! 6. Very helpful people. Chris, Carlos, Selene, Sylvia, everyone was gracious and attentive. If you have a problem, they will find a solution. 7. isla Muheres is a friendly, fun island. We rented a golf cart and drove through all areas of the island, we never felt unsafe day or evening. We found good deals on all types of excursions, from fishing, to diving, swimming with sea turtles, and snorkeling. 8. There were many quality restaurants and also great street food through out the island.

    1st stay in Isla Mujeres
My husband and I stayed here for 8 days and had a fabulous time. Although it is a distance from the majority of tourist type spits, it was perfect for us. Our room was very comfortable and clean, although I do recommend having the air conditioning turned on shortly prior to when guests will arrive. The staff were wonderful and welcoming. We did have to ask each time to have our room cleaned or new towels or trash picked up. We did this only every other day. When we did ask, it was always taken care of immediately. My assumption is that these issues were due to a very reduced staff during the virus. The view it spectacular and the water park was very enjoyable. One could easily spend all of their time on the property only. Kin Ha was also great. Breakfast was included every day and was always delicious and served by great staff. Again the hours were very reduced and we missed having dinner there several nights. However, Chris and his staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was most enjoyable and make up for any errors or discrepancies in hours or available services. Again mostly attributed to less staff and decreased hours of operation due to the virus. The only thing that was not remedied above and beyond expectations was that we never got coffee before 9 am when the restaurant opened. Normally they would have had more offered in the lobby, but with the great reduction in guest capacity, it just never happened. We are returning to Isla in October and will again be staying at Casa de los Suenos. We look forward to great accommodations and even greater treatment and friendship with the staff and people of Isla Mujeres.

Casa de los Suenos Review: Room name: Harmony. No TV in case you wanted one in the room, but the views are absolutely spectacular. You’ll have birds and a pigeon that likes to hang out in case you leave behind any leftover crumbs, but otherwise, the birds leave you alone. There is a mini fridge but no microwave. In the fridge, you will find two bottles of water, two cokes and two diet cokes. These items will not be replenished. You will not get extra water bottles. We were asked to refill our water bottles instead of getting new bottle. So make sure to bring your favorite water bottle. There is a safe, but it’s small. You won’t be able to secure a computer or large iPad. The room is quiet during the day and in the evenings. You’ll hear the entertainment from Kin Ha during the day, but it’s definitely entertaining 😊 *A shout out to the Elvis impersonator at the Kin Ha! I will never listen to Daddy Yankee’s song of Gasolina the same way. From now on, I will smile and it will immediately transport me back to the Isla de las Mujeres & the awesome time spent there! 😀 Beach Towels: don’t forget to request your beach towels from the front desk. They are big and good quality. I was happily impressed. Safe: the safe is small and locks with a key. You won’t be able to store an iPad or computer. Perhaps a small iPad and important documents. Just an FYI. No Bell Hop: we left at 7am in the morning so we called the front desk at 6:45am to see if anyone could help us with the luggage and there was no answer. It was interesting for us to get the luggage down the stairs, but us ladies managed. Girl power you know! 😉 Don Carlos (front desk): he was the best at giving us options and suggestions for eateries and also what best sights to see. Don Carlos reminded me of an “uncle figure”. He had lovely stores to share. So I didn’t mind listening to him whenever we asked, “what should we do today Don Carlos?” And he also recommends that we all watch Octopus is my teacher on Netflix. I must admit, it’s on my list to watch now…. He was also kind enough to give us a note when going to one of his preferred restaurant so that we could get a complimentary drink. The note worked my friends! Don Carlos also recommended Captain Carrot or in Spanish Capitán Zanahoria for a snorkeling adventure. This was an amazing experience. We had not had it on the list to do, but we went with the idea anyways. Captain Carrot and his crew were knowledgeable, kind, funny and provided excellent customer service. We had rented a golf cart for the day, Captain Carrot not only parked it for us for the duration of the trip but also had it ready at the end destination for us when we were ready to head back. We totally recommend them. Just ask Don Carlos about Capitán Zanahoria! 😂 Don Juan also recommended we try out Samura and he was on point with this restaurant. It’s a sushi restaurant in walking distance from the hotel. We are here on our last night. It was phenomenal. The food, drinks, music and vibe. This is a place everyone should definitely check out. Roberto (front desk): he was very helpful and kind. He helped my friend figure out how to use the gold cart he rented and gave us decent instructions. But since my Comadre and I were on an adventure we got lost and pretty much drove around the whole island. We eventually found our destination, but let’s be honest, how could we not…you’re driving in circle!! 😅 Stephanie (housekeeping): she was really nice. I wasn’t feeling well on my last day due to womanly reasons, but she helped me out. Housekeeping will provide with the necessary items. You’ll get 2 shampoos, 2 conditioners & 2 body washes and 1 bar of soap. We didn’t ask for anything extra because we usually carry our own products. You also receive 2 wash clothes, and 2 towels for each person. We made due so we didn’t ask for anything extra. Dona Silvia (Kin Ha Server): she was very helpful on our first and last day. We ate somewhere different for breakfast on our second day. Breakfast is included in your stay. First day she gave us some good recommendations. On my last day as I mentioned, I was not feeling well so my first breakfast order of waffles and eggs did not turn out so great. I didn’t mind paying for a new meal and she made sure that I was happy with my French toast. And the restaurant was kind enough to comp my first breakfast, which was very much appreciated. 🙏❤️ So if you are lucky enough to get Dona Silvia, you will be in good hands. Isabella (Kin Ha Bar Server): she was a great server and tried her best to keep me from getting burned from the sun. Unfortunately, I don’t tan, I burn…so Isabella was really great about moving the umbrella like a millón times so I can be in the shade. She was an awesome server by far!!! Chris (property manager): my Comadre and I wanted to get massages. We work hard so we play hard as well. Chris was able to arrange in room massages for 60 minutes. The massages were reasonably priced and the service was great. The masseuses were kind, respectful and gave attention to detail. I hope that this detailed information will help future travelers. And pay it forward, post your experiences as well so the next time we visit, I will pick up a few tips from you! Thx!!

Casa de los Sueños was such a wonderful surprise. My friend booked this hotel and when we got there I was so pleased to find that it was a boutique hotel with only 11 rooms! This meant that we received personalized service from the moment we got there. Don Carlos was absolutely incredible. He gave us so many great ideas of things to do from dinner and lunch options to places to site see. He took his time and shared personal narratives. Roberto and Rogelio were also fantastic in making sure all of our questions were answered. The hotel is clean and the room we stayed in Harmony was lovely! The balcony oversaw the beautiful ocean. Room service was great and the stillness in the hallways and lobby welcomed serenity and relaxation. The restaurant which is a few flights of stairs below has yummy breakfast which is included in the fee and delicious drinks. Silvia served us with grace and attentiveness that was refreshing. Gerry helped me to enjoy my last day of relaxing in the lounge chair by making drink and lunch suggestions. I enjoyed the snorkeling, paddle board and kayaking included in the hotel fee. The entertainment, a guy dressed as Elvis was comical and enjoyable. The vibe was awesome and just what I needed. It’s a calming, restful and relaxing place that is walking distance to great restaurants. We rented a golf cart for a day and were able to enjoy the island from early morning to late night. What a fantastic place and I will definitely visit again!

My husband and 6 year old son had a wonderful time at Casa de Los Suenos. Carlos and Roger were perfect hosts offering great recommendations for food and always greeting us with a smile - they even had our golf cart waiting for us on arrival. The beds were extremely comfortable which was great to have after long days in the sun - AC worked great! The hotel was beautiful and charming, exactly what we came to the island for vs the big resorts with hundreds of guests. We had the room 'serenity' and the view was outstanding with a huge balcony - highly recommended that room! The free breakfast at Kin Ha was delicious and the beach club we had access to by being a guest of the hotel was perfect. We spent much of our days there and were able to swim, snorkel and enjoy cocktails while being close to our room (great when our son was tired). I highly recommend this hotel for families or couples and it will be our first choice when we come back to Isla!

We were visiting Isla Mujeres with a group of friends, and chose to stay at Casa de los Suenos. Roger, Chris and the rest of the hosts were amazing in accommodating our changes, and once we were settled in we found the hotel to be the perfect home base for exploring the island. We loved the amazing view from our suite, the huge room and amenities, and enjoying morning coffee by the adult pool in the main building. The restaurant is great for breakfast, the beach bar has a fun happy hour, and the entire dock and pool area is super to hang out at when you want a break from the rest of the island. There are plenty of water options like kayaks and paddle boards, and snorkeling or swimming right off the pier. Without exception, the staff was friendly and helpful. As some others have mentioned, we did only have two channels on the TV (at best), and the DVD player didn’t work, but we didn’t miss it. Plus the room had strong WiFi so you can stream whatever you want to watch on your devices. We ended up just watching the great scenery and having fun. Strongly recommend this hotel for couples or families. We will be back.

I can’t say enough good things about our experience. I normally don’t post reviews but after our experience at Casa de los Sueños, I feel compelled to. Carlos, Roger and Chris at the front desk were all so friendly and helpful. We also loved the dogs, Marvin and Nina and the cat, Maggie. The room was spacious, clean and perfect for our family. I loved the quiet of the infinity pool that was only open to guests but having the easy option to walk down to Kin Ha for more activities as well as food and drinks was great. Like I said, I never write reviews but felt this was worth it. Everyone at the hotel and Kin Ha made this a great trip for our family and one we won’t forget.

My husband and I stayed in the Serenity suite for 3 nights in June 2023. Not sure how the other rooms are, and I'm sure they're nice, but our room was absolutely beautiful! Clean with plenty of space for the two of us. Large walk-in closet with a safe for valuables and a mini refrigerator. The bed was huge and so comfortable! Squishy, big pillows, and a mattress topper that we were happy to sink into after long, hot days spent swimming, drinking, and driving around the island in a golf cart. There was a spa tub that we big enough for two people to lie side by side and a walk-in shower. Plenty of hot water, plus they provided body wash, shampoo, conditioner, and lotion. The decor was beautifully influenced with Mexican art. The whole building was so much more beautiful than the boring modern mega resort we had spent days at before coming here. The whole time, I was thinking I wish we had spent more time at Casa de los Sueños instead. The best part of the Serenity suite? The view! We had a terrace overlooking the ocean with the hotel pool and the Kin Ha beach club below us. If the view is important to you, do not miss this room! All I can say is WOW! I was able to smoke cigarettes on our terrace (they provided an ashtray). As a smoker, this was so, so nice. To be able to step outside with a cold drink in a robe and relax was truly appreciated. I didn't see or smell anyone else smoking around the property, though, which nonsmokers should appreciate, too. Coffee was available in the lobby early in the morning. I simply grabbed a mug and brought it back to my room. Breakfast is served from 8 a.m. all the way to noon in the Kin Ha Beach Club restaurant just behind the hotel. Breakfast was made to order. It was really delicious, too! I had Ranchero eggs one day, a breakfast sandwich with fries the next day, and my husband had an American platter both days. You wear a wristband that the hotel gives you so the restaurant knows you're staying there, and then they simply ask what room you're in. But it's included in your stay, and totally worth it! Much more satisfying than a mass produced mega resort buffet breakfast. And the people working at Kin Ha and Casa de los Sueños are all so kind. We appreciated their service and made sure to tip to show extra appreciation. We love to travel, and this was one of my favorite hotels I've ever stayed in! But if I had to highlight any negatives, I would say perhaps to be aware there are some stairs to climb for a few rooms (including our beloved Serenity suite). But it seems they also had ground level rooms if that's more comfortable for you. The beach club looks like it's accessible since it has a ramp from the street all the way down. Also, the TV only had two channels, both in Spanish, which my husband and I aren't fluent in, but he had his laptop, so we just used the HDMI cable hanging from the back of the TV to connect it and watch Netflix on the free wifi. They had a DVD player and drawer full of movies, but we couldn't get the DVD player to work. I didn't ask about it since we just went the laptop route. Before even getting to Mexico, we had actually booked a hostel in Playa Norte for a few nights just to have a cheap alternative location convenience, but we kept going back to Casa de los Sueños every night. And it ended up that the location was wonderful! Quiet, and it gave us a central location for taking the golf cart out for a spin every day. Overall, I loved this hotel and had a very good time in Isla Mujeres. I definitely recommend it and want to go back already!

It pains me to give this place two stars since I loved it so much, and you may be wondering why I would give it two stars if I did love it. Read on to find out the pros and cons, and how the cons were big enough to outweigh the pros. Pros: -Chris is fantastic as a manager. There’s no question about that. -His entire staff is amazing. I particularly liked Gabriel, Roger (night manager), and Pablo (restaurant manager). Everyone is very nice, friendly and goes out of their way for you. -The property itself is absolutely beautiful. The open lobby concept with the recessed seating area, the outdoor infinity pool overlooking the ocean, all of it is just stunning. -The rooms are very nice too, especially the presidential suite which I got a personal tour of. -They have adorable animals that live on the property — a funny cat named Maggie, a Boston terrier named Marvin who has such a great personality, and another dog named Nina. I loved them. Cons: -There was a very bad storm on Wednesday that caused the power to go out for over 5 hours. That meant that there was also no running water at all, since it ran off of electricity for the pumps. The hotel has no backup generators. I mentioned to Chris that they need to get generators for situations like this and he said only one hotel on the island has one, which I find very hard to believe. At any rate, it’s 100% unacceptable to not have electricity or running water for several hours while you’re on vacation. The hotel needs contingencies for things like this, especially since it’s frequent. The power went out a total of three times during my stay, and once was overnight for a little bit. -Supposedly, there was an agreement with the Mayan Beach Club on Playa Norte which allowed guests of Suenos to visit. I thought that was great, so I let Chris know I wanted to visit it and he texted the owner’s daughter to let her know I was coming. Perfect, or so I thought. I spent 200 pesos with tip to get up there (all the way from the southern end to northern end of the island), ate the complimentary breakfast there, which was good I might add. Then I go to sit in a beach chair on the beach. One of the workers comes up and tells me that it’s “included if I spend a minimum of 400 pesos”. I said I wasn’t informed of that at all, and that it was implied that it would be free/included. I told him that Chris mentioned he texted someone (who I didn’t know was the owner’s daughter until I got back at Suenos and had a talk with Chris about this) to be expecting my arrival. The Mayan Beach Club person goes back, talks with his manager, comes back and says “I’m sorry, but you’ll have to spend a minimum of 400 pesos to sit here, but the chair is free”. I said free doesn’t mean spending 400 pesos. I was so upset from the whole situation that I left, spent another 200 pesos with tip to get back down to Suenos (so I was out 400 pesos total from this round trip taxi ride that turned out to be a waste of a few hours as well as the money spent). I let Chris know of the encounter and he was equally surprised and upset. He said this was the first time it happened and was apologetic. He said he needed to have a sit down with the owner of Mayan Beach Club about the supposed (what appears to be former) arrangement since it was clear there were some misunderstandings. -I ate at Suenos’s sister restaurant that they own, Kin Ha, which by the way serves fantastic food, almost everyday, sometimes several meals per day. I kept a detailed line item of everything I ordered in a note on my phone, noting how much I spent per day. My total came out to 3940 pesos. Somehow when I went to check out, that total was 4356 pesos, essentially 416 pesos over what I had kept detailed track of. Since I was in a rush to get to the ferry and didn’t have time to sit down and argue that I was being overcharged, I just paid it. But, they most definitely overcharged me. All in all, these cons are big enough dealbreakers that I won’t stay at the property again, and it’s too bad because I really loved what I listed in the pros.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding your recent stay at our small hotel on the island. We appreciate hearing from our guests as it helps us improve our services. We apologize for the inconvenience you experienced due to the island-wide power outage during your visit. As a small island, the infrastructure challenges can sometimes result in unexpected disruptions, such as the one you encountered. We understand that it may have been frustrating not to have a generator available, and we apologize for any inconvenience caused by this situation. Regarding your concern about the billing, we regret any confusion that may have arisen. We strive to maintain transparency and ensure accurate billing for our guests, but we weren’t given the opportunity to review the bill with you before you checked out. We would appreciate it if you could provide us with more details about your billing concerns so that we can investigate the matter thoroughly and resolve any discrepancies promptly. Customer satisfaction is our top priority, and we take your feedback seriously. Please feel free to reach out to our management team directly.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and only cleaned upon request which I think is great. The AC worked very well. One time the AC did get turned off at the main power for cleaning. As soon I noticed and mentioned it, staff got it fixed right away. The pool at the hotel is small yet nice. If you want more there are more pools and the ocean just a short walk away, all available to you with your booking. The food at Kin Ha was delicious and they are very good about working with food sensitivities. My stay was great and each day I felt myself relaxing more and more, exactly what I needed! I always felt very safe here even as a solo traveler. Punta Sur is a short bike ride or walk away. You can also rent a cart, get a cab, or hop on the bus and go anywhere on the island. It is a great location, great stay!

Casa de los Suenos is THE place to stay when you would rather feel like an old friend than a guest. From the moment that you book to your arrival on site, they are there every step of the way to help you get to your final destination. And in my case that was destination relaxation. This is probably the most important part of my review, so I'll include it first. As a young-ish solo female traveler, I felt 100% comfortable staying here. There is always someone in the main lobby keeping an eye on things and they lock the main front door from 11:00pm to 7:00am. The staff will call you by your first name from day 1, making you feel seen and acknowledged and most of all, cared for. Thank you to Chris, Roger, and Carlos. As its located in the Southern part of Isla, you'll need to consider transportation options if you really want to explore. They have bikes on site that you can use and if you arrange it ahead of time, they will have a golf cart waiting for you upon arrival that they make sure is always full of gas and just added to your tab at check out. By far the easiest and most reliable way to get a cart on the island. It takes approx 25-30 minutes to drive via golf cart from Case to the North Beach. I also love how they have the partnership with the restaurant below, Kin Ha. Excellent breakfast that comes with your stay. The view is breathtaking and Gil who curated the playlist is a genius with the tunes that play as you dine. There are also pools, a water swing, kayaks etc, and snorkeling right there included. The rooms are spacious, clean, and come with a fridge. My room, the exec king suite was more than I could have hoped for, especially when you consider the sweeping views of the ocean. The pool is divine and cleaned daily. One of my favorite parts, the house pups Marvin and Nina, (and even the cat Maggie) were perhaps my most favorite feature. They are the sweetest and must fun Casa mascots. If you're lucky they will even walk you down to breakfast! One note of improvement, which they are working on, is the company that they contract with for the transfer service. It was a little bit discombobulated on the way there, but everything worked out in the end. Chris personally took down my feedback and shared it with the company so that hopefully things go more smoothly for future guests (note that this is not a reflection of Casa, just a vendor they work with). If your thinking hmmm I usually stay in name brand hotels (trust me, I am a Marriott loyalist to an extreme level), do not do that here on Isla. Stay here. The experience is part of being on the Island. You will love your time on the island that much more if you stay at Casa de los Suenos. It really is a dream.

I want to give a huge shout out to Phil & Tracy Martin - the owners of Casa de los Suenos!!! They have done a great job with their hotel. First of all it is in the very best location on the entire island (a new Secrets will be opening soon right next door), the staff are always extremely helpful, the food in the restaurant is very good and reasonable, the rooms are spacious and have great balconies facing the water (and comes with a great breakfast). There are currently 3 pools (they are building another) and one has a water slide in it. All water activities are at no extra charge - they have kayaks and paddle boards (I believe they have a few nice bikes too but we didn’t use them). You can snorkel right off their beach or you can walk down their private pier and jump off to snorkel too - or hold onto the handle and swing over the water and drop in. Good restaurants are nearby to get to quickly by golf cart or taxi. I wouldn’t think of staying anywhere else.I give it a 10/10!!
