We have stayed here on a couple of occasions and been very pleased with the service and rooms. It is not a 5 star hotel by any means but the location and views from the rooms are great. We will stay again and I would recommend it.

Great location, on the malecon with the sea breeze and the crashing waves to lull you to sleep. Our 3rd floor room was comfortable with a glass wall that gave us a breathtaking view of the water. Easy walk from the ferry port, to the city square, grocery store and many restaurants. The pool is surrounded by loungers and the sea breeze keeps you from overheating while sunbathing. Lots of seating areas in the shade and out of the wind too. The one negative is the front desk staff. No one answers the phone or responds to emails so we were unable to book direct. We had a flight delay and spent 2 days trying to reach someone, finally got our reservation modified through Booking.com, but the hotel would not honor it when we arrived. Rarely anyone at the front desk even though they say it is staffed 24/7. Language was a problem with 2 of the 3 front desk people. If you have no problems - great. if you have any problems - good luck trying to get resolution.

Amazing sunrise views of the Caribbean. Right from Your room balcony. Very relaxing hotel. But walking distance to all the restaurants and beach clubs. Nice pool area to sit back and enjoy the ocean breeze. Will definitely come back.

Stayed in the 2 bedroom "pool room". We had booked 2 high floor rooms (via Trivago which in turn was via TravelUp) several weeks in advance. There was a glitch but Rocamar gave us this pool room instead. It was ideal. There are not many stairs to get to this room. It has a private outdoor space including a private deck overlooking the ocean. It has a kitchen, ensuite bathroom for the bedroom with a king bed, regular bathroom and the second bedroom has 2 beds. It was way better than expected: clean, lots of thoughtful extras, and it was peaceful (well off the street). You can walk to the beach fairly easily using the ocean walk. For the last bit to reach the ocean, you go over some well worn coral (somewhat tricky) or go out onto the street. There were lots of restaurants close by and it was convenient for the ferry as well: when you arrive, keep going forward (that is the right street) - it is just a few blocks. We found the reception staff very helpful and pleasant. The cleaners were also very pleasant and capable. It was a perfect base for our Isla Mujeres vacation. We would absolutely stay there again and recommend it without hesitation.

Stayed at the Rocamar Feb 8-15, 2020 in an Ocean Front Room # 29, top floor. Was a great location, walking distance to all you need even tho some of the surrounding streets appeared sketchy at night it was totally safe. Rooms were clean and simple, beds comfortable, lots of puffy pillows, AC worked great, had to turn it off many times as it was too cold. No mini bar as was mentioned on the website but we did have a mini fridge which was great for keeping drinks cold. We didn't have anywhere to put our clothing except for a few coat hangers above the safe, so ended up living out of our suitcase for the week. Water pressure in the shower was not much more than a dribble and would go from scorching hot to cold while in use. Minimal counter area in washroom to put your things. All toilet paper on the island must go in the trash, no flushing it! No tissue, so glad I thought to pack my own as I don't like to use toilet paper to blow my nose. Keep the patio door closed, otherwise the floors get dangerously slippery. WIFI DOES NOT WORK IN THE ROOM, WILL ONLY WORK IN COMMON AREA OUTSIDE ROOMS. Our room was not available for late check-out as they were expecting new guests but they did have a shower on the second floor we could use, it's just a shower/toilet not a hospitality room but better than nothing. This is def not a 4 star hotel, I think it's rated at 2.5 stars which is pretty accurate. Next time to Isla we are def renting a house with friends, great little island, would love to return one day!
