If you are interested in getting away from the real world and looking to admire real nature. Then this is the right place, we enjoyed not having a TV in the room and just listen to the ocean waves all night long. There is AC in the room but we we never turn it on. We had such a peaceful and quite time. Miguel was so nice and made sure we had everything we needed.
This place is amazing. I want to live here at this hotel. Beautiful property. Wonderful, professional workers. Omar & Miguel are very attentive and caring. They are just wonderful, caring people. Such a very clean place. I can’t wait to go back. Relaxing, beautiful and amazing. Having no A/C until 10pm-6:00am was no problem for us in August. The breeze off the water was sufficient :) a VERY BLESSED PLACE.
This was a beautiful hotel with the nicest staff. They emailed me back immediately every time and understood the craziness of travel. They were so accommodating and kind. I really dont want anyone else to know about this so I will always have a place to stay on the island without crowds.
Loved the location on the east side of the island. The staff super friendly and helpful. Nice property, but would just have liked a few small things, such as big water bottle in room (tap water bad), coffee maker, small fridge. Had great ocean breezes but was there in early July and air con in the daytime would have been nice.
I, like some people have written, had never posted a review of the places we've stayed. And we've stayed in plenty of them all over the Caribbean. I always have found it interesting to read polarizing reviews at this place. I guess it's one of those places you either are going to love or hate. For us, it has been love since we first saw it. We had seen it advertised on-line right here. We went there in person to see it one year before our first stay to see it with our own eyes. We were not allowed to see any room as all of them were booked in that February. But the right vibe was immediately present. This property is on the other side of the Island, it is in fact the only hotel on the Eastern side of Cozumel. It is always breezy on that side. The views of the ocean are simply majestic. The sound of the force of the waves crashing into the rocks is out of a movie. The property is next to a couple of great places to eat in the whole island, in our opinion. The seafood is fresh. The cook is amazing. Memito is gone, but in his place the current cheff is just as good. Hot breakfast is included. The rooms just like the website advertises, have no TV. There are no mosquito nets but everytime we have been there in February there is no need for them nor for the A/C which has been turned on after 9 pm in most of the years we have been there. We have been coming back to Ventanas al Mar three Februaries now. Prior to 2020, the hotel welcomed children but now it has been turned into a couples only one. Our kids are 9 and 10 now and we know they are good and well-behaved children. Hopefully Mr. Ricardo (the owner of the property) will allow us to stay there again. The place is simple put, gorgeous. If you are looking for luxury, tvs, Internet in the room and a more quiet ocean, there's the Intercontinental or the Landmark of Cozumel on the other side of the island. So is the new development north of the island near the airport (the Westin is very nice). We always go to Ventanas al Mar first and then follow our stay at the Landmark. I rate this property a 4 because like people have pointed out, there are details that are hard to miss. But then again, the price is right for the lack of luxury. This place caters to a specific kind of traveler, one that is more in contact with nature and privacy. Are you that kind of traveler?…
