Only the Caribbean’s most famous reef system could match the beauty and splendor of the Occidental Grand Cozumel, which is exactly why the two exist side-by-side. Located on Cozumel’s gorgeous San Francisco beach, just above the bottomless blue paradise of the Palancar Reef system, you’ll find an authentic-style state that delivers all the luxuries of a private oceanside hacienda. Gourmet dining, bright and airy rooms, nightly music and entertainment, daily sports and beach activities and an on-site spa and salon make the Occidental grand Cozumel the jewel of any Caribbean experience.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel is in wonderful condition, and everything was sparkling clean. The grounds are well maintained and beautiful. We found the food to be very good and there was good variety from one day to the next. The service was excellent everywhere we went, and we found the staff to be helpful and polite. The hotel is taking smart steps to protect guests during the pandemic, which was reassuring. Having Pro Dive on-site made departures and returns for our diving extremely convenient (I highly recommend Pro Dive as well). We will definitely come back for another stay in the future.

Currently at the Occidental Cozumel. Hats off to Victor at the lobby bar. Great service, a good host and introduced me to a new rum - Bacardi Silero. A great evening and made a new friend. What a great way to feel at home.

Another great week at the Occidental. I was with a group of 11 - most of them did 22 dives in the 5 1/2 days. We threaded our trip between storms Eta and Iota. I don't dive but enjoyed all the amenities of the resort. Jesus and Ben were great with activities near the pool. I loved the complimentary yoga with Michelle - she personalized her teaching for me. The resort has completely re-imaged itself to comply with COVID. The bracelet keys were the best - always had your key with you. Employees were servers at the buffets which worked perfectly with several grab and go selections. Christi was the best server - she had us at almost every meal, always remembered our drinks and took great care of us. We were in room 1824 - perfect facing south and with the best housekeeping employees. The room was always cleaned early since she knew I would be return after lunch. I can't wait to be back again in the spring.

Room Tip: Room 1824 was perfect - south facing and got plenty of sunshine to dry diving equipment.

This place is stunning and beautiful. The people working here are so nice, and will truly go out of their way to make sure your taken care of. Everyone was nice. Shout out to Jose at the lobby bar, Reyna the talented beach side waitress who would bring our drinks to the water, Rene who was so thoughtful and had our door decorated for our anniversary, Carlos, Victor, Margarita and the list goes on. We will definitely be back in a few months. The resort has a few dining areas that are temporary closed due to water damage From the hurricanes but will be open soon. They did a great job of moving and combining the eating snd it was just fine. We cannot wait to see everyone again.

We had a fantastic time spending our Thanksgiving at Occidental. The people of the island are fantastic and the property is beautiful - we had so much fun. The resort has many covid protocols in place and we felt safer than at home. Special shout-out to Jesus and the kids club staff who kept our grandkids entertained so well. We can’t wait to return!
