It's in a perfect location - a few blocks south of the downtown square, and across the street from the sea. Hotel room was spacious and always clean. Large lobby next to swimming pool, a cash bar, and 2nd floor deck overlooking the water was comfortable and always available for your use.
The breakfast buffet was wonderful - and even had tablecloths, cloth napkins, and the best wait staff who were willing to bring you water, coffee, juice, etc.

We spend 3 days in casa Mexicana at the beginning of January 2020.
We had the room with the ocean view and the view was fantastic. The staff members are very kind and they help with any question. The breakfast was pretty good, with fresh fruits vegetables, cheese, eggs, and traditional Mexican food. Coffee, juice, and smoothies were available. The location is very very good right in the middle of the city, very convenient with a short walk to any location in the city. The swimming pool is pretty small but it's nice to hang out there and watch the sunset. The room was clean and we didn't have any special issue with it.

After spending a week there with my family for the second... I will be returning once again next winter. The hotel is clean, great breakfast included., friendly staff, Perfect central location to walk to dozens of restaurants and bars, and taxis right out front to take you to a different snorkel spot each day. Bring a water bottle from home so you can use their water that’s in their lobby. Drank it all week and no belly issues. Used their water from faucet for teeth and no issues. Make sure to bring pesos and you will get taken on the exchange. Favourite place to go is The Money Bar, and Rolandis for an Italian dinner. Great work Casa!!!

I have stayed at Casa Mexicana several times. We feel the price is a good deal, and we enjoy having waterfront views. The breakfast has been good, too.
This trip, dogs are barking around the clock. I don’t think they are staying at the hotel. I think they are in an empty lot next to the breakfast area, so the noise comes in through the atrium and can be heard everywhere. A dog has been barking for 3+ hours straight tonight, and this problem has occurred every night I’ve been here so far.
The staff has been very nice; when the room cleaning service people realized it was my birthday when flowers were delivered to my room, they snapped into action and decorated my room with balloons and a “towel cake.” That’s really going the extra mile for a hotel in this class.
We also love the central location. We are within walking distance of so many of the island’s delicious restaurants.
One downside this time is that the main elevator is not working. I checked in on 12/26, and now as of 12/31, there’s no change. Perhaps it’s difficult to get an elevator serviced during a holiday week. But it is inconvenient.
The bottom line is that I won’t return based on this dog noise problem. It makes it impossible to relax on vacation while listening to the dogs.

Great stay! Great breakfast with very friendly staff Vicente, Sinta and another you lady. Good prep techniques a few of the guests touched faces or coughed on hands and food staff immediately changed out things they touched. Immaculately clean hotel. If you put out do not disturb they won't but be sure to tell them later if you need any room cleaning or supply. Surprisingly no bottled water provided but is nice free dispenser ice watering lobby. Nice bar and small pool on lobby. As soon as you go up escalator you are surprised by size and comfort. Would have never guessed it was this cool. We had no noise problems. Lobby attendant and front desk are great. We were on a reservation program that gave a discount at Palmeras restaurant that was supposed to be 20% but Palmeras printed right on receipt only 15%.

We sit here on the top floor of the hotel, the view from the balcony of our ocean view room is charming. Our room seems well-maintained and it is spotlessly clean. It is cleaned by, indeed the entire hotel is staffed by, the most pleasant people you could want to deal with. Elizabeth cooked my eggs to order every morning and Sinthia, well Sinthia was attentive to our every need and she makes a really good classic margarita. Reviews to the contrary smack of issues with those reviewers. Oh, that’s unkind, let’s just stay that there are so few of those reviews that it is likely an inevitable bad day was involved. We found the staff unfailingly invariably civil, cheerful, friendly, hardworking and truly helpful. Some of the other guests, not so much. We plan to return.
The hotel, being located downtown San Miguel, let’s you choose from among dozens of excellent and relatively, by stateside standards, inexpensive restaurants, all within walking distance. We particularly enjoyed Azul Medera and Kondesa to name two.
I came to Cozumel this time to learn to spearfish and hunt lion fish, an invasive species threatening to overrun the reefs. I was mildly successful in catching enough to then take to another restaurant worth special mention, La Mission, where they prepared the fish for my dinner. The restaurant is also within walking distance from the hotel. Indeed, the dive shop I used, Aldora Divers, picked me up from the pier right across the street from the hotel. They run a first class scuba diving operation.
So in addition to being charming and centrally located, the hotel was modestly priced and provided a hearty breakfast in the price so I would consider it a bargain even with the well-worth-it upgrade to ocean view.

Had an over night trip over to Cozumel whilst staying in Playa Del Carmen. The hotel was really easy to find on the main road, you could see it off the ferry coming into the island.
Check in was nice and easy with friendly staff. The Wi-Fi was great too.
Our room was at the back of the building but was nice and clean with 2 small double beds.
The pool was fabulous and so inviting, we spent the afternoon there enjoying cocktails from the bar, which were very reasonable in price with lots of booze!
Didn’t get chance to try the breakfast as we were unaware we needed face masks to eat and we didn’t have any with us. The hotel didn’t offer us masks either so we miss breakfast.
Would recommend and would stay there again…it was lovely and well worth the money!

We enjoyed our stay at the Casa Mexicana. It is in a great location for wandering around downtown Cozumel. Our room was clean and comfortable, and had a nice balcony. The included breakfast was fresh and delicious. We arrived just before a small hurricane, and the hotel had room service available for us (since all of the restaurants were closed). The wifi was not always very strong, and I often had to stand by the doorway to our room or else head out to the lobby to get connected. Other than that, we really enjoyed it!

Let me start this review of Casa Mexicana by saying that this is the first hotel experience I have had in a long time that I am leaving with nothing to say negative. From the time I was greeted with a cool drink, to check in, having the specific room I requested, to check out, it was one positive experience after another. This team, and I wish I knew every name, works together to offer the best experience possible. I have stayed at what is considered as 5-star hotels that need to learn customer service and facility maintenance from Casa Mexicana. Again, I wish I had every name that I had contact with but, Carlos (new hire), Darwin, Graciela, and Anibal went above and beyond. Everything worked!!!! The room TV, the lights, the bathroom, (did I say the bathroom), the comfortable bed with many pillows, the clean room that was cleaned every day without asking unlike the US hotels, the towels, the water pressure, the elevators, the cool water ready in the lobby, the A/C (a must in Cozumel) all worked perfectly. You will have a great experience at Casa Mexicana. Thank you to everyone!!

This hotel has nice rooms and is in a good location. The staff are very pleasant. We stayed during Hurricane Delta and the response was very good. We felt very safe and slept through most of the storm.
Any issues we had were pretty minor. The breakfast didn’t start until 7, which was too impractical for our diving schedule. The normal buffet would probably work fine, but for al a carte it would be nice if it started at 6:30. Our room had a shared door with the adjacent room so the soundproofing wasn’t great. The shower sometimes would sometimes run brown but that seemed to sort itself out. There is also a yappy dog next door (not in any way the hotel’s fault).
Any issues were offset by the great price of the hotel. If we return to Cozumel we would stay here again.
Also, I recommend Tres Pelicanos as a great dive shop if you stay here.

Yes it is a small pool, but it is heated. You should easily be able to sit in a lounge chair as most guests do not spend the day sitting there. We found it relaxing to do after our adventure of the day to a beach etc.
They do have a small fridge in the room. This hotel is very lovely. Quiet, good breakfast. Great location for shopping downtown.
